This is suuuuch good, important info…. For a long time I didn’t think about some of these dangers. It wasn’t till I started dating a cop that I really opened my eyes to what can happen if ur unaware. I’m looking to become a dancer and these tips are soooo helpful. Luckily, I really pay attention now wherever I go. U can’t be to careful!

it’s always better to have multiple ways to protect yourself. relying soley on one thing can backfire. what if you carry pepper spray and there’s a strong wind or the attacker gets you from behind? what if you rely on your self defense classes and you’re attacked by multiple people at once? then you’re SOL!

LAYER your defense.

I ALWAYS have a bouncer walk me to my car and I have a cell phone stun gun and a personal alarm within reach when walking to my car. I work in a VERY dangerous area. you can order them on amazon or a self defense website. they’re REALLY affordable (especially if you dance)

I keep my personal alarm clipped to my jeans. depending on which one you get you have to pull out a pin or press a button and they’re REALLY loud. I keep my cell phone stun gun in my hand when walking to my car.

also, protect your car!!! make your car look empty so it doesn’t get broken into. mine got broken into and I had expensive electronics in there that got stolen. never again!!! I’m SUPER careful. I take my GPS with me into the club and lock it up with the rest of my stuff. don’t tempt thieves. I keep 50 dollars in my glove box for emergencies but I lock it up. don’t even leave CHANGE in your car.

don’t tell anyone how much you made. don’t wear ANY jewelry. even if it’s a cheap walmart bracelet, a guy doesn’t know that.

also, don’t carry around your cell phone with you when you’re on the floor. don’t carry your ID with you. keep your money on your person while you’re in the club. I carry around a purse when I’m on the floor but I just have makeup, perfume, granola bars, and mints in it. if somebody took it I wouldn’t really care. if someone stole my cell phone and ID I would care, so I don’t bring it with me.

BE PARANOID! take precautions. it doesn’t matter if nothing bad has ever happened to you or any of the girls you work with. I never thought anything would happen to me and I was shocked when I was walking to my car and my window was smashed and everything was gone! I’m just glad it was my stuff and not me.
