Hi Mia,

Great article. If you’re still reading these questions, I have a couple.

1) Where do dancers store their money when they’re on stage so it doesn’t get stolen? I’ve heard it’s good to keep it on you at all times, but the dancers I’ve seen definitely weren’t hanging onto it up there.
2) How much should you tip out the DJs and bartenders? Is it a percentage of how much you made that night?

I am a driver and this are some tips i give to new girls. Really have to think before You drink. It easy for people to take advantage of you if you are under the influence, some times the danger is not from a customer, but dancers, drivers, buncers, management, Your tips are easily taken when drunk. I know sometimes a drink or two is needed to deal with this job, but keep it at that. You will be happy if you do.

In most good clubs they will ask you for an SSN, The reason is they have to claim the tax and run a legal business.

I do know that some clubs will do it without, but you will have to phone and ask the, directly

When i apply for a job at the club, do i have to give them my ssn, i’m a FT student and don’t want anybody to find out and can i just work Fr and Sat nights?

i think this is absolutely a great article , most people think being a stripper is like being a slut or a prostitute ,and i was one of those people but i have come to realize that its your choice whether you want to keep it professional or not. i am actually thinking about being an exotic dancer and with all these tips in sure i will b successful

Thanks for the website. It’s very helpful. I danced before in Colorado but recently moved to NYC and am wondering if you know which clubs are decent. Mostly, I’m just looking for a club that treats its dancers well. I was hoping you might know which NYC clubs have good (or bad) reputations. Thanks!
