Stripper Tips – Getting Your Stripper Look Right

The lifelines for any stripper learnign how to become a stripper are Clothes, Make Up & Hair, Shoes.

Stripper Look Tips #1: Your Clothes.

stripper-clothesWhen you decide on your look, you will first need to find out from the club that you decide to work at what the dress code is. In Some clubs you may have to wear

1) long dresses
2) short dresses
3) bikinis
4) any stripper outfit

Make sure you find out before buying anything. If you can go to a shop and buy your outfit, that is the best as you can try it on, but if there isn’t a shop where you can buy these clothes where you are, order on the internet. Make sure you order from places that will accept a return. I have put people on the site that I know are good and do accept returns

When you find out what you can wear at the club, also find out what type of underwear/thong you will need as there are laws in certain places which restrict the kind of thong you can wear. Also find out if there is a minimum heel you will need.

When you do buy something which you like make sure it showcases your best feature. If you are a legs girl make sure you have a short dress or a long one with a very long split. If you have a great cleavage (lucky you!) then buy an outfit which emphasises your chest. Also buy something which makes you feel sexy, as your confidence will shine through

Make sure that you can remove it easily without having to fiddle too much. In fact before starting work, practice taking it off smoothly while moving. It will make you feel confident when you do it in from of the customer

Buy at least 2 garters. If you do not know what they are, go to a lingerie shop and ask for one, they will tell you what it is, or lookit up on the net. When you put it on wear it where you can see it and you are aware of it, usually your money will be attached to it. If you are allowed a purse try and get one which you feel comfortable holding and literally become part of your extended arm…you will want to keep hold of that purse for dear life.

If you are not allowed purses a great way to hold your money is on a garter. Fold it over your garter in half and put a rubber band around it. Make sure it is tight.

Stripper Looks Tips #2: Your Hair & Make Up

Make sure you buy make up that is of good quality, since you will be wearing it for hours, you don’t want to get spots. Buy the best foundation that matches your skin colour (or your tanned skin colour) the best.

Emphasis your best asset…whether that is your lips or your eyes. In fact experiment for a week with different looks and see what works best for you.

In a dark club you will need to put make up on darker than usual. Do not worry if in the changing room you look like a drag queen. Just check what it looks like in the club.

Make sure you take all your make up to the club asyou will need to touch up during the night, make sure you also take nail varnish and remover, tweezers and make up remover.

stripper-tips-clothes1A lot of girls wear false lashes. This can look fantastic if you use the right leghnth. My advice on this is to experiment. Also practice wearing them before work as they can feel heavy and irritating on the eye if you are not used to them.

Make sure you get your nails and hair done before working. Your hair should look and smell great. Make sure that it looks like it has been done, not just like an ordinary girl- you need to look special

Do not wear any slippery lotion or oil that may get the pole slippery and cause accidents

Stripper Tips Looks #3: Your Shoes

stripper-shoes1Make sure you have asked the club what type of shoes you have to wear. If you don’t have to be particular, make sure you try on as many as you can. I personally look for ones with a strap and a 3-5 inch heel. Make sure you practice dancing around your house for hours before going to work.

I would also buy non slip pads to put on the bottom of these shoes so that when you dance on stage there are no embarrassing falls.

Eyelashes are a MUST! I had one flamboyant manager in San Francisco who always said, “Girlfriend…I don’t care how long your lashes are…they aren’t long enough!”

And don’t forget…above everything else make yourself stand out! I tend to wear long flowing robes when everyone else is wearing a skimpy bikini.

    Hi Mia,

Your blog is so helpful! I have a question (and maybe a blog idea for you) – what kinds of exercises should strippers do to do the kinds of things that can make us more successful?

I imagine for certain floor moves, the push-up, and some kind of exercise allowing us to lift ourselves on the pole better… what else do you recommend?

  3. Mia on May 18th, 2009 3:37 pm

    Hi Ambrosia

Thank you. I am so glad it is helpful for you…and it is a good blog idea….maybe i can answer it here and perhaps have comments on it?

For pole exercises i would definatly build up arm stregnth so that you are able to lift your body weight with your arms. I would recommend using a bar and trying to pull yourself above it like chin ups. I would also make sure all the muscles in your arm are worked out, including your wrist, arm and biceps and triceps. If you need exercises that do this i would recommend getting a trainer for one session and ask which exercises are best for these areas. I use weights in my hands and rotate my wrist with them in my hand both clockwise and anticlockwise. Also I would use exercise machines in the gym to build different parts of my arms and shoulders.I also would get my back stronger as you want it to be supporting you while you are flinging yourself on the pole. I would also increase your flexiblity by stretching in the morning before you get out of bed. I have a friend who got to do the splits in 6 weeks by doing beyond comfortable stretching in the morning while she was in bed…i was amazed! If you do increase your flexibilty you can be impressive on the pole by doing splits etc
As a dancer i learned that it is really important to also make sure your ankles are strong by doing ankle rotations. This will help you grasp the pole with your ankles and also will allow you to keep sturdy in your heels even if you do trip up

I hope that helps and i would love feedback from anyone who has some ideas

Hi, though I am a male, I have some experience in the exercises you need. They have foundations in basic acrobatics, aerialist, and circus work. As Mia said, arm strength is key, and pull ups and other inversions hanging from a horizontal bar are very good for this. This will also help you with grip strength, which is just as important.

The other place you will really want to concentrate is your core / soaz muscles. This will allow you to gracefully come out of backbends, and to pull your torso up vertical while hanging upsidedown, without having to use your arms.

A great place to learn these skills is a local circus school, most big cities (SF, NY, ATL) have them, where you can practice on swinging trapeze and hanging silks. Once you’ve mastered these dynamic aerial apparati, a fixed pole will seem simple and fun! If you don’t have a circus school around, install a pullup bar or a swing from a tree or high cieling and practice on that. Or, just go to an advanced yoga class.

Mia, thank you so much for this site, it is a real eye opener!

    Best,

Making yourself stand out is important. Don’t feel like you have to “fit in” – the strip club is not the place to conform!

  7. leaxy on September 19th, 2009 4:21 am

When you applay the to become dancer do the have to fill out the application as regular job. thank you leaxy.

  8. Mia on September 20th, 2009 8:08 pm

    Hi LEaxy,

In most decent clubs that are run properly they will ask you to fill out details so that they can check you are legal and able to work in USA. This is for thier protection. If they do not, I am sure the club also allows other things to slip by them as well
    Good luck

This was a superb article. I have been dancing for several years and Image is everything. After a while I found my creativity outgrew the local clothing and shoe shops.dancersers today need to stand out at prices that are afordable. After all the first rule in business (even the dancing business) is ‘It is not what you make, it is what you keep!

  12. Newbie on October 22nd, 2009 1:46 am

I have a strange and embarrassing question – what do you do if it’s “that time of the month”???

Do you just give up your income for a week? Are there secrets that the older girls know of? Especially if you’re working in a nude club?

Sorry, but somebody had to ask!

  13. mia on October 23rd, 2009 10:16 pm

    Hi Newbie,

    That is a great question,

some girls just do not work, and others use a Tampon and cut the string so it is really discreet…although be very careful doing this to make sure you can take it out again…some girls have also dyed the string to match with thier own pubic hair using vegetable dye so that it is safe

    Thanks for asking

Are there dancers with short hair? I’ve only ever seen flowing locks.

  15. CARLA PRUITT on January 25th, 2010 8:47 am

I’VE BEEN A DANCER AS WELL AS A SHOWER PERFORMER FOR HEAVY METAL CONCERTS IN FLORIDA FOR 11 YEARS. I HAVE ALWAYS HAD VERY THIN STRAIGHT HAIR LONG HAIR AND I WEAR A FEW ROWS OF CLIP IN LONG EXTENSIONS, MY HAIR IS ALSO DYED BLOND. I ALWAYS MAKE BETTER MONEY WHEN I TAKE THE TIME TO PUT SPIRAL CURLS IN IT, BUT IT TAKES ME ALMOST 2 HRS TO DO MY HAIR WHEN I CURL IT USING HOT ROLLERS AND A CURLING IRON AND SET IT WITH AUSSIE HAIR SPRAY. AND I HAVE TO KEEP RE CURLING IT SEVERAL TIMES DURING MY SHIFT AT WORK. SOME DAYS I DON’T HAVE THE TIME TO DO IT OR I JUST DON’T FEEL LIKE DOING IT. MY QUESTION IS, IS THERE A BETTER, FASTER WAY TO SPIRAL CURL MY HAIR THAT WILL ACTUALLY HOLD FOR A WHILE AND WITH MINIMAL TOUCH UPS? CAN YOU SUGGEST A BETTER TECHNIQUE OR STYLING PRODUCT?

  16. mia on February 16th, 2010 2:06 pm

    Hi Kit

There are loads of dancers with short hair.
I think a short haircut done in the right way can be very sexy

Look at Meg Ryan when she was younger

  17. mia on February 16th, 2010 2:08 pm

    Hi Carla

    In terms of your hair,
Have you thought of getting a perm?

It will be less work and a loose perm will give you a spiral look

But your way seems like a lot of work

I hope you try the perm way
    Good luck

    Hi Mia,

I was just curious if someone can be “too tall” to be a stripper. I’m 5′11″. Even with 3 inch heels I tower over most guys. It doesn’t help that I’m pretty self conscious about it as well. I know that a lot of guys like tall girls, but is 5′11″ too tall?

  19. Allison on February 23rd, 2010 7:35 pm

just to add on about to do with long hair and how to keep your curls.
I don’t dance but I’m a cosmetologist and have really long hair. There are a couple things.
Don’t wash your hair as much like every two days
Kendra 23 is by far the best hairspray I have ever found.
    Amazing!
also when your hair is damp not wet, add in stying lotion
enjoy has a great one, but may he a lil tricky finding because its so new but
    Amazing!
    Have u tried barrel curls?
Have u tried a curling iron?
    they will hold better :)

    Hi LAysha

The tip is to tailor yourself for the customer. If you really want to learn the person I have to send you to is Jessica. She teaches girls how to get the VIPs and she tailors it by finding out what you are doing wrong/right so I cannot help you as she can. With me she actually changed my beliefs and thoughts about guys and that changed my earnings.

I wish I could help more but I cannot really know what you are doing so can only give you limited answers. But I hope you learn from her and come and give us an update

I am considering this as a career, However, i am very concerned about what my family will think, also I just had a baby, and still am needing to get into better shape before i would be comfortable being naked in front of people, any suggesions??

  25. mia on March 12th, 2010 11:06 am

    Hi Lilmomma

If you are concerned about what your family will think you will need to work somewhere out of town where they are not likely to be. Although it should be very unlikely that they would find out, it still is a possibility…although rare

Also it is your and your childs life, so you need to decide if this is going to make the quality of both your life better( and it will if you treat it right and learn how to make money)
So if your family do not approve, they need to deal with it as you are out there doing something great for you and your family. Nobody comes and gives it to you…right?

    In terms of bosy

the best weight loss i have found is exercise using weights and cardio and sticking to 1200-1500 calories a day

It really works and if you make sure those calories are from healthy food like fruit and vegetables you will find that you getto eat a lot and will be healthy too

Aim to exercise 5 time s a week

You will see 2-3 pounds drop off every week if you are strict with this

    Goos luck

hi i was thinking bout stripping for the first time andi have just had a baby i have 3 embarresing questions.
1.i have a few streatch marks on either side of my inner thighs right at my underwear line is there anything that could hide them? would i still get work?
2.what is the usual style the girls use for waxing down there?
3.what should i do for a routine when i have neve stripped before?

  28. Kristi on April 4th, 2010 1:39 am

Hey Mystique!…I danced for the first time a few weeks ago and my opinion as someone new,.. a lot of the establishments tend to have black lights etc that hides skin issues very well. I have a huge scar on my back from a surgery and you cannot see it on the stage. Also there are a lot of other girls that don’t have the best complexion and have stretch marks from having kids etc and you cannot tell in most of those lights. From what I’ve seen at the few clubs I’ve been to, most of the women are shaved completely but I’m sure that varies across the country/world. As far as a routine, just be natural, be yourself,.. you don’t necessarily need a “routine” as you wouldn’t want to look “too rehearsed”. I am new to this business but have performed on stage throughout my entire life. You’re there to entertain and a lot of it is your personality and flirting as well. If you be yourself, you’ll be fine! I wish you all the best!!!!!!

  29. mia robbins on April 7th, 2010 1:12 pm

Hi Angela, You do not have to worry about teeth as no girl in the club is perfect and it is your flaws that make you beautiful and characteristic. I wouldn’t worry about it. If it really bothers you then after a couple of months you will have the money to fix them

    Mia xx

  30. mia robbins on April 7th, 2010 1:16 pm

Hey Mystique, I would agree what Kristi says…..she is right on. Do not worry aboutmarks as it is dark and no one really can see them and as I have said before no girl is perfect in the club.
Some girls wax or remove their hair permanently with laser, but most girls just shave as the time it takes to grow your hair out for re waxing is too long. And as Kristi said, just be natural and relaxed…watch some you tube videos and you should just copy them. You will also pick up things as you work as the girls will show you moves when they are on stage

    Good Luck

    Hey Mia!!!

I’m about to turn 20, and just moved into a town that is LOADED with strip clubs, and ive been looking for a job for 6 months straight now, and NO LUCK, so of course im looking into becoming a stripper now… but i have a few questions to ask you that i hope you can help me with:

first: im your average/slightly chunky girl, my breasts and butt are fine, but i have some cellulite, how noticeable is that in the club?

second: WEDGIES… OMGGG we all get them but because my ass is large it makes cute boyshorts look like a thong, do you know how to stop that from happening??? im a 42/36/45

third: i have a bad scar from skin cancer removal on the back of my leg, it is dark purple almost black on top of my pale skin… would makeup make it disappear in that lighting???

also if you could message me back over email i would greatly appreciate it, maybe i could even send you some pics of my problem areas for a second opinion

    thanks so much!
    adena blaze

  34. adena blaze on April 21st, 2010 6:13 am

ALSO lol my bad! i meant to ask you HOW long do you think id have to work at the club to afford a boob job??? i know most girls go in with little boobs/saggy boobs, and then after being there for a while they have huge perky ones… how long does it usually take???

    thanks again
    !

  35. mia on April 22nd, 2010 1:49 pm

    Hi Country

    Thank you for your question,

I really don’t know if any of the creams work…maybe the girls here would know? I think just good toning exercises should help with that. Or you may just have to find ways not to get into that position.

Also In terms of irritation, do you mean after you shave? Because non perfumed deodarant after shaving helps with that

    I hope that helps
    Mia xx

  36. mia on April 22nd, 2010 1:54 pm

    Hi Adena Blaze,

You will find most girls have cellulite. ANd most of teh time it is not very noticable as it is dark. And most guys are not interested or notice cellulite

With Wedgies, I think it is probably a good idea for you to find underwear that is flattering to you

That is why I like wearing thongs…Try different cuts of underewear and you will find one that fits well.

If you go shopping you will find different cuts, try out some and you will find that best one for you.

The skin scar can be covered with either thicker foundation or actors amke up which you can buy at specialist stores.

    I hope that helps
    Mia xx

  37. mia on April 22nd, 2010 1:56 pm

    Hi Adena

when you will be able to afford a boob job will vary depending on how much money you make.

You could make the money for your boob job in one night or it could take you months

The best person to learn how to make money is Jessica Simmonds. She will teach you how to get those boobs asap.www.howtostripper.com

But please only get breasts if they are for you and not for the job.

She will also message you to answer any questions
    Good luck

    Hi Mia,

I really like your blog, its full of so much useful info! I’ve been thinking about maybe starting dancing for a couple years…school is super expensive and its getting me down…but it also sounds like something I might enjoy, since I have gone with my girlfriends and we always have a blast! I just have a few questions for you:

    1) I don’t know if my “figure issues” are as common, but I haven’t read as much about them on your site. My boobs are big, I mean, really big, like 36DD big. While they look great in a well-fitted bra, I’ve always been a bit concerned about what they look like out and free…my aereolas are very big also (a bit smaller than the palm of my hand), which is my main cause of concern. As I mentioned, I’ve been to a few strip clubs and the girls always seem to have small-medium breasts that are super perky with tiny little nipples. Maybe I’m being paranoid, I just wanted your opinion.

    2) My “fat” problem is almost all concentrated in my tummy. I’m just trying to fix up my little pooch before I audition: I’m running/walking for 45 minutes before breakfast each morning. Just wondering if you have any more tips for taming especially that area as my butt/thighs are fine, I really need to concentrate here.

    3) When you go to audition, you said you will have to dance for the manager. Will you be having to dance nude/topless at your audition, or just in a more revealing outfit (like one you would wear to work), or even in normal clothes? Just want to be prepared :)

  39. mia on May 6th, 2010 9:41 am

    Hi veronica

    Thank you for the questions

    1) Your breasts sound great . Most men and women will envy you for such natural breasts. You do not have to worry about the areola sizes, Girls in most strip clubs come in all shapes an sizes. You will have to be toned though. So do not worry. Once you get to a club you will realise that your breasts will be a great asset

    2) In terms of losing weigh on your tummy. Here is the secret, you need to get rid of as much fat as you can ( and you are doing the right thing with the running) Make sure you also stick to under 1500 calories a day and no carbs after 5 pm
Also you should do stomach exercises that will pull your stomach in from all angles. So here are some exercises that will do that.
Do Crunches for the middle and top ( do 50 a day)
Do bicycle crunches for your side muscles- where you cycle your legs and reach for your knees right and left while you crunch up – 50 of these
And the final exercie is the lower leg lifts…make sure you pull in your stomach and support your lower back and if you can hold some weights in between your ankles to make it work

If you do these you will find fast restults, but it will take effort

    3) More then likely you will have to dance nude or topless in the clotehs you will work in or a long sexy dress

    Good luck
    Mia xx

  40. Julia on June 13th, 2010 8:14 pm

At first, thank you for your great site. I have found here almost all answers I needed. Except maybe the questions concerning the most intimate thing there between the stripgirl’s legs…

    1. I’m going to audition in full-nude club where the most part of stripdance including poledance I must be totally naked showing also all of my intimates. But I am pretty different down there when comparing to other girls. From videos I have seen all of the strippers have average or small slit deep between their legs. But my pussy is totally opposite – I am slim girl with very flat belly and thin legs with wide gap between them. That makes my pubic mound (bone) very high standing out of my body in front of. Also my pussylips are hanging very long out of my body being so prominently visible in every position both from front and behind me.
So here I have my question I hadn’t found an answer nowhere – is this kind of pussy good or bad thing for stripper, both technically (in example in poledancing) and aestethically (visually for customers)? Of course I think it depends a lot also on taste of managers’ who will look at my body during audition but maybe there’s still common thoughts about it too?

    2. Now the second one is shorter question but also about the same detail of body – When going to my first audition is it best to shave the pubic hair completely off or let some patch or stripe there? What is the common and preferred practice today for nude stripper? I have seen both and can’t decide. Unfortunately I can’t also ask it directly from the club now.

    3. The most embarrassing question – If I happen unintentionally to drive myself really sexually arousing during my show, how about it? Is it OK or must I avoid it? How are the usual stripgirls, do they just do their boring routine or do they enjoy also themselves during the performance, too? I tend to get really wet down there very easily caused by some stimulation (like from the pole, etc). Can this cause any problems for me and what may the managers and customers think about it as this will become really well visible?

    4. And my last silly question I haven’t found an answer yet – The club is asking also two-girl shows then what are the general guidelines for it? How much direct contacts, maybe also some sexual stage acts between girls, I don’t know? Maybe it depends much on club but do you know what is the usual typical scenario?

That’s all from me. Sorry if my questions sounded maybe too sexual all but I had to ask them. I think they all are still on-topic here. Also I’m sorry for my not-perfect english but hopefully you can understand my thoughts. Thanks.

  41. Alia on June 14th, 2010 7:29 pm

how old is too old to dance? Are cocktail waitresses (sp) also dancers taking some time off stage?

  42. mia on June 15th, 2010 10:05 am

    Hi Julia

Thank you for your email. I can understand it may not have been easy for you to say all that, so it will be good for all the girls to here the answer to those questions

    1) Vaginas or pussy’s come in all shapes and sizes. You will not be judged for anything as they have seen it all. And what you will find is that men love them no matter what shape or size. It will more be important if you are toned and fit
So do not worry about that. technically you will be fine and aesthically you will be fine also. The lips are fine, working in a club you will realise that people have different lip sizes and some hang out and others do not…it really does not matter

    2) You hair down there can be shaved, but if you would like some coverage, i would recommend you have some hair in a strip known as the brazilian.
This will keep it looking neat and also cover up lips if you want it too.

    3) I doubt during your audition show you will turn yourself on as you will be nervous, but even if you do, who cares. This is a strip clb where sexuality is key so don’t worry about that either
And in the club while you are doing the show and really get into it, you will proably make more money as most girls are switched off and go through the motions
If you are really worried, just make sure you do not stimulate yourself by rubbing on anywhere

    4) Two girl shows depend mainly on the club you are in to how far they go…it usually is a simulation of sexual palyfulness between the girls, but there may be clubs where more happens

This is totally at your own discrettion whether you want to participate or not. It is totally up to you

I hope that answers your questions and makes you feel relieved.

    Hi Alia,

I have dancers in my club who are in thier 40’s and look fantastic. as long as you look good, it doesn’t matter.

Soem cocktail waitresses are ex dancers and some are not. It makes no difference as both jobs are completely different, I usually find that cocktail waitresses cannot bear to take off all thier clothes and would love to have the guts to do it. Not all but a lot of the girls at work I talk to

    I hope that helps

Hie my name is elizabeth my question is that i realy want to become a stripper i alway wanted to become one but i have a little bit of a tummy i mean when am standing it doesnt show but when i sit down it sort of hang out its that a problem…another thing in the first audition is it a guy or a girl…last thing in the audition wat happen if i mess up or if i dot move rigth

  45. mia on June 16th, 2010 11:15 pm

    Hi Elizbeth,

You can work on your tummy, by doing stomach exercises and burning fat with cardio exerceises. And as it doesn’t show when you are standing, it will more then likely be fine

Most girls have some fat when they sit down. Its ok

The audition can be in front of a boy or girl

If you do nt move right, you will be forgiven as most clubs hire new girls. Just practice by looking at the videos I have in me free 5 part course when you sign up

    Good luck

  46. JC on July 13th, 2010 12:00 am

I have worked at a few clubs last year. I am not going to lie, I am absolutely terrified to do it again because I haven’t done it since last year. Do you think it’s better to concentrate on private dances rather than the stage because I am terrified when I am put into rotation?

  47. mia on July 13th, 2010 11:07 am

    Hi JC

I understand about becoming terriefied when you haven’t done something for a while. What I have found usually though is that the thought is actually worse then the actual experience.

Some clubs will insist that you have to dance on the stage and you will need to do private dances to make money

So what I would suggest is realise your fear and realise that it is normal. Tell yourself you have done it before and you survived.

Also you sometimes just need to jump in and you will realise that it is not so bad. When you just think about it, it can be built up into something so huge, but when you do it, you will realise that it is no big deal and that 1000’s of girls do it and survive

If you also want to dip your toe in you can ask the club you start at if you can not be put on stage for a few days and aclimatise yourself to the whole procedure

I wish you luck and let us know what you do

We all will want to know

  49. Kaye on July 29th, 2010 5:27 pm

    Hi Mia,

I have a question I hope you can answer. If the club you’re dancing at calls themselves a topless club, and does not say nude stage dancing, or nude lap dances, does VIP count?
If a customer offers to pay me to take off my bottoms would I be allowed to in VIP? Is it my choice and whatever I’m comfortable with, or will it most likely break the rules of the club?

    Thank you so much!
    Your blog is amazingly helpful!

    xxo
    Kaye

  50. mia on July 30th, 2010 8:18 am

    Hi Kaye
Thanks for your email. I appreciate the compliments.

A topless club is usually a topless club if that is what is stated. Unless your club says you are allowed to be nude.

This is usually the case as a club would not want to undersell what it can do. So if there was nudity, they would most likely be screaming it from the rooftops

You always can phone the club and ask what thier policy is

    Good luck

    hello
in your experiences, do you see very thin girls making a lot of money? i’m 5′6-5′7 and no more than 100 lbs. to be honest, i’m naturally this way and happen to look very healthy. i’ve done tons of nude modeling and am very comfortable with my body but i dont want to embarrass myself and not make any money if my body type is not desirable for stripping. your thoughts?

  52. mia on August 9th, 2010 9:32 am

    Hi Savannah,

I have seen girls of all sizes and shapes make money, from very thin girls to very curvy girls. Men love women.

Also Making money in a strip club is about confidence and sales…and as long as you are toned and not flabby, you will be fine.

I hope that helps, and good luck

  53. Karma on August 12th, 2010 10:28 am

If I have a mohawk, and am classy punk in style, will a club still take me? Or does it just all depend on the clubs personal preference? And do clubs play rock for a girl, or do they organize the lineup themselves and thats it?

  54. mia on August 12th, 2010 1:07 pm

    Hi Karma

Your mohawk may or may not interfere with teh club hiring you. It all depends on teh club. The best way to find out is to just go and audition.

Some clubs let you choose the music and others are more cut and dried. So it all depends again.

You may be able to rock out in one club and have to dance to britney at another

    Good luck

    Hey mia,
I just turned 18 and i want to audition to be a stripper but im a little conserned about my age. Also, i dont know what to wear for the audition? I also dont know wat to do in the audition. Just thinking about it makes me so nervous. I have never stripped before and i need some advice! Thank u! Oh! By the way, this website is VERY helpful!

  56. mia strippertips on September 14th, 2010 10:46 am

    Hey mshotmomma4u,

    Thank you for your email.

Yes I agree about your age, because some clubs will not hire you until you are 21, but others will even if they serve alcohol. YOu need to ring the clubs you would like to work in and find out what the minimum hiring age is.

Also if you don’t know what to wear, firstly ask the club that you want to work for, what they wear at teh club, it is usually, a gown, a dress or a bikini, either way, you will need to buy these. A great place is discount stripper (you can find the link at the top) where youc an look for the right dress/outfit.

I understand your nerves.I was really bad when i started. I am sure they could see me shaking on the stage! You will be fine. Also they know you are new, so they don’t expect byou to do any backflips. Just go in and do some moves that you can see in you tube basiuc danceing videos.

And thank you, I am pleased you like the site

    Good luck

I’ve been stripping a while now and when some men find out I wear glasses, they ask me to go put them on. Is it worth wearing them on the floor to help me stand out, or not?

  58. gpjuicy21 on September 17th, 2010 9:30 am

Hello Mia I really enjoy you’re site and I find it so helpful. I’m auditioning next week I’m not the best dancer but I’ve been working on it my main question was for my first time should I try out for a high end strip club or one that is’nt as nice but not horrible? I’m just not sure if I would get hired at the better one since I have never done this before.

    Thank you xox

  59. mia strippertips on September 17th, 2010 11:37 am

    Hi Victoria

Sometimes men find glasses a big turn on,cause of secretary fantasies etc So you can try your glasses on the floor and see how you do, or youc an keep them on you and hint at them and also include the sexy secretary comment to see how it goes down.

I would say test it and see. You never know until you do as some girls look better with them and others do not. Also it depends on how confident you are with them

Good luck and let us know how it went

    Hi gpjuicy21

I am glad you are finding this site helpful. it makes me keep wanting to do it!

If you are really worried about your dancing you can try out at the not so high end club first and then when you get in do the high end club. This way when you get in you will be more confident.

Good luck and let us knw how it went that way everyone can follow progress of other girls, I would really appreciate it

This was soo helpful!! As is howtostripper.com, AMAZING info. My first audition is tomorrow and I’m pretty confident but also a bit terrified. Any tips on calming my nerves?? I’m generally a very fun, flirty and outgoing individual and I’m hoping to bring that to my stage presence but I need a little help getting past the nerves!

    Good luck to everyone!!!

  62. mia becomeastripper on October 5th, 2010 12:06 pm

    Hi Trinity

Thanks for the complimants, I really love it when people love the site

Tips on calming the nerves,ok here goes

A little nerves are normal, so know that you are going to have someone watching you who knows that

Also if you just picture and imagine yourself dancing by yourself at the audition as if you were in your bedroom, then you will just dance and not focus on your nerves.

Keep telling yourself that you can do this. after all it is just dancing on stage and taking your dress off

practice taking your dress off at home while moving and get used to dancing in your shoes

You will be fine, just think there are thousands of girls who have done this before and are still doing it, so it is no big deal

You will be fine if you think like that

Good luck, please let me know how it goes

    good luck

Helpful hint, if they ask to work the same night, don’t do it unless you’ve broken in your shoes. Ouch!!! Lesson learned!!!

Also, bring several outfit changes to the audition in case too!!! I had to make two work for me the whole night!!!

Thanks again Mia n Best of luck too all!!

Wow, thank you!! I hope it encourages others!! I set a goal as to what I wanted to take home that night ( which was 20$, hey it paid for gas!) and I took home HALF of my normal paycheck in ONE night! Also, I watched some of the girls and they LOOK BORED and when the guys don’t think you’re having fun, THEY don’t have fun, so smile and have fun with it!!

BUT I have another question. I’m expanding my makeup collection and I have NO IDEA HOW to apply my eye shadows for those super cool, popping styles that I see tutorials on! I swear I’m missing a girl gene. If you have application tips let me know!1 Or videos that are good.

Tip: use your concealer on your eye lids under your shadow, it makes it stay :D

Oooh also, my boss likes to play slow songs so we HAVE to slow down and talk to the guys to get them to buy private dances. HELP on floor moves? I kinda crawl around a bit but other than that I’m at a loss!!

    Thanks and best of luck!

( btw I’m in Washington STATE not Dc hehehe)

  67. mia becomeastripper on October 9th, 2010 9:44 am

    Hi Trinity

    Thanks for coming back

And yes I am going to be doing a make up spot here for showing you how to do the popping eyes, so come back to that here soon..

As for now, just use a darker colour nearer the eye and go outwards using lighter colour, while
blending and outlining using a liner
    (if that makes sense;))

Great tips for the other girls too…maybe we can have you guest blogging here to let people see your first experiences..how would you like that?

In terms of floor moves, crawling is good, if you do it right, make sure you pull your stomach in and arch your back so your but sticks up and then you can move into the lie-on-your-back-position and play with the one leg in the air ( practice at home to see what looks pretty

Also you can use the pole and get on your knees and use the pole to hold yourself up ( this hurts the knees though!) and that can be effective.

Just practice some sexy kitten like moves on the floor at home. Remember it does not have to be technically amazing, just look sexy and appealing to the guys and that is easier.

Girls are the ones who get more amazed at technical stuff, most men are happy if you look good enough to eat and look like you are having fun and feeling sexy, so be easier on yourself

Let me know if you want to share
and keep going and good luck

You just find out what the club audition process is like and turn up then and dance for them usually

You do not need a licence to audition, only if you get work. And then you can ask the club what the process is for that particular state

    Hi Liz

Great that you got called for an audition
The best thing you can do for your audition is to phone the club and ask them what type of clothes the girls wear, and they will either say gowns, or dresses, or costumes or even bikini’s

Whatever they do say you now knwo what that club is looking for them you can either buy them from the stripper cloths shop in the pictures at the top right, or ebay(if you have time) or a sex shop where there will be stripper clothes in most and buy something you feel comfortable in

    Hi Caitie

You should call them for the application process. They will tell you to either send in yoru resume, or come in and give you a time.

When you call you should also ask what you should wear. Or just go in smart wear for the job, like some nice pants and a smart tighter top.

  85. mia- how to become a stripper on October 22nd, 2010 9:58 am

    Hey Nikki

    Thanks

No you are not fat at all, but it is dependant on the standard the club has, and each one is different.
So go audition and you will find out very quickly if you need to be any mroe slimmer

You can never be confident all the time, every girl can never be confident all the time, but you have a way of becoming confident most nights, and this is really well taught by techniques Jessica uses. She teaches ways you can get the confident aura most times. I wouldn’t be able to explain it well here, but I do use what she says and I would say I am confident at work about 70% of the time.

I used to feel insecure with other stripper, but not now. I learn that I have my own unique qualities. I feel a twinge when I am with another girl and we are dancing for the same customer and he finds her more attractive ( which happenes to every girl) so you do get used to it

    Good luck mia xx

I don’t know if this matters or not, and am super embarrassed to even ask but i can’t find anything about it. Ive been seriously debating on becoming a stripper. i have a toned figure with a good booty and smaller breast, but i have slightly inverted nipples, I’m self conscious about it but want your opinion on if this matters or not to costumers. thank you so much, this sight is great!

P.S. would it be an option, or would i risk making less if i wore pasties or body paint a really fun design on, or does that completely depend on the club?

  87. Sophia on October 23rd, 2010 12:26 am

lol my bad customers not costumers

  88. mia- how to become a stripper on October 23rd, 2010 9:32 am

    Hey Sophia

It wouldn’t matter at all about your slightly inverted nipples.

Girls who work in the clubs come in all shapes, sizes and varieties, it’s true, so don’t worry.

It really won’t matter to most customers and some will like the challenge that they are shy!

Also you can wear pasties in some club and others it may not be appropriate, but you will not have to worry about it

    I hope that assure you

Also I am always making typos, so no prob lol :)

  92. mia- how to become a stripper on October 26th, 2010 12:05 pm

    Hi Qui

If you are taking things with you, you gotta be careful as there are some thiefs in clubs. Most clubs will have a locker which you can take a padlock with you. The best thing you can do is ring the club youa re going to work in and ask what kind of lockers they have. If they tell you to bring a lcok of some sort, ask which type and make sure you do take a protective lock

There is a possibility that wigs may fall off when you do upside down pole tricks, if you wear a wig, just either make sure it is really secure or that you dont do any poletricks that are upside down

oh and i forgot, can u give me some advice as to how the environment might be? i was only in the strip club for a short period of time. by environment i mean are the dancers catty? i have not heard one good thing about strip clubs, how its hard to separate yourself and be a different person on the floor and then go back to being yourself in the regular world. i also heard most waitresses get sucked into being a stripper. and most girls have a problem dealing with what they do, so they they start to have drug and alcohol problems. so basically its a job for people can be strong and can still be themselves in the real world? sorry if that’s a lot of writing. i just dont want to get sucked into a bad crowed.

  96. mia- how to become a stripper on October 27th, 2010 10:55 am

    Thanks Caitie and congratulations!

The fact that you are thinking about this will mean that you are very smart and will look out for that.

There are bad people everywhere and as a waitress you do not have to be someone who is trying to be someone else, so you will not have that problem, and as for a bad crowd, well you will just have to use yoru judgement, as I am sure you do in normal life

as for being sucked into becoming a stripper, well that will totally be up to you. And no one can force you. Being a stripper can be healthy if you start with the right attitude and are smart about it.

No one can make you take drugs or alcohol, there is no need to do that and the smart girls I work with do not do anything like that too

You will find the bad apples, but you just stay away from them, like in real life

    You are smart, don’t worry
Just be aware and you will be fine

  98. mia- how to become a stripper on October 28th, 2010 9:59 am

If you look at the stripper shop that has a banner at the top, you will find drape dresses that will allow more space for your bust. Just chooses clothes that allow for that

There are a lot of girls in the stripping industry that are thin girls with bigger breasts,
so stripper clothes places will have clothes to accomodate for that. I have seen the thinnest girls with the largest breast have a dress which fits her properly, so dont worry

    Good luck

    Hi Sierra

Thanks for asking this question as a lot of girls will be thinking about it but not asking.
A lot of girls do book time off when it is time of the month, and others work, using a tampon that they disguise, either by dying the string(using safe vegetable dye) and making it shorter, or just tucking it in a more discreet way

    I hope that helps

Hi I am a african american girl who’s interested in becomming a stripper in ny city, i have a few flaws that im worried about maybe you can help. I had a child 2 years ago and lost alot of fat in my breast i drop 2 cup sizes since the birth of my child and now my breast are flat as pancakes, im worried I wont get hired as a stripper. do you think this matters. My stomach is fine except I have a rash on my stomach due to a nickel allergy to my jeans. Is there any products i can use to cover it up thank you. P.s. Im 5ft tall 110 pounds, nice butt though is that to short to be a stripper, or should I just buy 5-7inch heels when i audition?

  107. mia how to become a stripper on November 22nd, 2010 12:25 pm

    Hey WanBStripperJ

    Thanks for your message.
Firstly you do not have to worry about your breast size or shape. The girls in the club are all different shapes and sizes and most clubs will hire girls of any size or shape.

I terms of your rash, can you stop wearing your jeans to get rid of it? Or you could cover it up wth foundation, although it is very difficult to hide the bumps, you couls wear a belly chain to detract away from it

In terms of your height, girls of all heights are hired as a stripper, so you have nothing to worry about.

Let us know how your audition goes, and Trinity on this blog has just been hired, so read her posts to learn more

    Good luck

    Hi Theresa

I would go to a strip club and ask the club if they would allow you to do the make up for the girls free. Everyone wins then. the club look good like they are providing a service and the girls will love it. It may even lead to employement, who knows
    Good luck

    Hi Kristan

I am not very experienced in doing any priovate shows, but a pole dancing class or a strip tease class will help. Have a look on google and see what comes up, Or you may have to choreograph your own routine in front of a mirror
Make sure you are safe and take a friend

Hey i really do love your website, really helpful, I called up a stripclub last night and they told me that all i have to do is come in and audition the manager was gona be there. So i did my makeup, nail and hair. So when i showed up i told the girl at the front desk i was here to audition she said sure and gave me a application. As i was filling it out the manager approached me and told me that he is not auditing any more girls til next month. I told him that i was calling all week and i was told i could come in after 7pm. he told me that was incorrect and that he recently hired enough girls for this month, and for me to come back in janurary. I left ok, but thought to myself that maybe he just said that because he didnt like my look. the club is mixed different ethnicity so i dont think it was my color, however i did go in with my natural hair it was curled. I thought it look nice, but i talked to one of my friends sister whos a stripper and she told me that i should have went in with a nice long black wig or extension, do you agree that a wig is something that might help p.s. my hair tends to uncurl easy easy and frizzes up. thank you so much.

  113. mia how to become a stripper on December 7th, 2010 10:00 am

    Hey WannBstripperJ

You need to try another club and then if you really want to work in this club try out this club next month after with a wig. Its no big deal really. Maybe they did stp hiring cause near christmas it does become very crowded with girls as all of them are looking.
So it is better if you just try another club

And a wig may or may not have helped. You are going to be jugded everyday so don’t worry and start trying different things.
If you want to wear a wig then do it and if not then don’t
It is very hard to please everyone all the time, so you just gotta keep trying lots of different looks/clubs. The key is not to take it personally and not to over guess what someone is thinking. It could be the hair or it could be that the club has too many girls. Either way you just need to try somewhere else.

I hope you do and feel good about it
Let me know what you decide. I look forward to see what you do
    Good Luck

    Hey Mia,

I have a really quick question. I am only 5 feet tall and 110 pounds, but I have some scar tissue on my belly from having to take insulin shots for my diabetes. Is this going to be a problem? I have very little body fat but that makes the scar tissue a little bit more noticable. I can usually hide it with clothes as its right above my hip bones. Any Advice would be great! Thanks

  116. Beth on December 13th, 2010 10:20 am

    Hi, great info!
Just a couple of quick inquiries, I was a dancer for about 15 years (jazz, tap, ballet, modern) and have decided with the lacking job market lately to try my hand at being an exotic dancer – I’ve been told I’d make a good one (also I just laughed it off as a joke) but now have been looking around for clubs in my area to check out.
    1. I’m a really fair-skinned girl, I hate tanning, and I like how my dark hair contrasts to my skin, but do most girls get spray tans? I want to have a great look for a first audition.
    2. Do most girls go Brazilian, or is it just her preference on looks?
    Thanks so much!

  117. mia how to become a stripper on December 13th, 2010 12:16 pm

    Hi Ashley
    Thanks for your comment
That scar will not be a problem. You can always cover it with make up or tattoo(fake or real)

I wouldn’t worry about it as it is darker in a club and they will not be focusing on that one place
    Good luck

  118. mia how to become a stripper on December 13th, 2010 12:18 pm

    Hi Beth

Great experience by the way :)

    To answer your questions…
    1) No you dont have to worry about tanning at all, some girls do and others dont
It all depends on what you want to look like
    2) Girls do whatever theu like, so choose your style and do what makes you feel comfortable and sexy

    good luck

  119. penguin on December 19th, 2010 1:19 am

    1. do u set aside any percent of your profit to put back into your look like costumes and such
    2. how many outfits do you have total?
    3. do you have to get your hair done? mine is naturally wavy so i can either scrunch it with some curl stuff or straiten it but i dont want to look cheezy or cheep compared to the other girls
    4. do i have to wear makeup i thought that maybe since i am only 18 i could standout by wearing only the minimal amount of makeup perhaps so i dont look like all the other girls??
    5. what times are the most profitable to work?
    6. kinda embarrasing but do u think a hood piercing would affect my income?
any chance you could give me a basic workout for a normal built 5′4” aprox 125 lbs just to get toned and all :)
thank you so much for this website i know women have been serching for this information without success as i have been so great job!

    Hi Mia,

I just wanted to say thanks so much for all the great info! One of my nipples in inverted and I always thought stripping was not an option. Your answers to the girls regarding their body issues is so helpful and reassuring. Thanks!

  121. mia how to become a stripper on December 21st, 2010 8:53 am

    Hi Penguin
    thanks for the questions
    1) I alwasys set aside some or just reinvest in a dress and shoes every 2 months or so – about 100-150 per 2-3 months I use for clothes, make up and replenishing

2)I have over 15 or so outfits but I don’t need taht many. I would make sure you have at least 2 and then grow from there.I just love clothes and invest in them, so I am always selling my practically new ones to girls in teh club. It is a great place to find bargains

    3) My hair I do get done to keep it straight. I work a lot so if I had to straighten it every day with a straightening iron, it would become damaged, so I do get it done to stay straight. Sometimes I will wave it. As long as it looks well looked after you will be fine.

    4) you don’t have to wear make up if you don’t want to. It all depends on what look you want to go for. Some clubs may have certain looks they would like to create so may ask you to, but in most places you can do what you want.

    5) what times are more profitable to work really depend on clubs, where they are and what type of customer they attract. The best way to find out is to do a whole week or 2 where you can work different shifts and see how you do. That will give you a good indication

    6) no I don’t think that will effect your income, it may add to the mystery ;)

In terms of a work out, I find the best a mixture of cardio and weights to create the best physique
So if you don’t need to lose weight, i would run 3-4 time a week for 20-30minutes and then do weights 2-3 times a week, taking a 1/3 of your body each time, so work your arms and shoulders one time for 30 minutes doing various weights in the gym, or just dumbells, look online for exercises for arms and shoulders and then you can do the same for stomach and back and thridly do legs and bum
That will give you a beautiful body that people will love

    Good luck
    Mia xx

  123. Princess Kiki on December 23rd, 2010 1:21 am

So here is the deal… I am 21, I have 15 month old twins, which means that my body is FAR from perfect, and I am VERY interested in finding a job as a dancer at a strip club. As far as my body goes I have 42DDD breast… which I have NEVER had complaints over… I have a bit of a booty, but not a big one, although I am a size 14… and the rest of my body… well my legs have alot of muscle, but definitely need to be toned… and then my stomach from pregnancy with my twins is a road map of stretch marks that go onto the top of my ‘gina… and I have a little sag in it, which I know I can lose, because I have already lost 25 pounds in the last 3 months. I am definitely not a thin girl, but not a huge girl, either. I am worried about my stomach and stretch marks. I know everyone says that the dark lights will hide them, but all of mine are not really that light. I am planning to audition in January at a club called Centerfold,I have heard that they like any girl who has confidence in themselves and do not really care about size… I think that once I get on stage to audition my nerves will be whacked, but I think I will get into and won’t be as nervous. How could I work on my stomach and toning my thighs and arms? Also, in Missouri do you have to have a license or permit to dance? Oh, and one more question! Could I get away with dancing in a dress that covers my stomach, or going with bottoms that come up higher while still being able to expose my breast? And where could I find outfits for my size that would be appealing and appropriate for stage?

  124. Princess Kiki on December 23rd, 2010 1:22 am

Another add on to a description of my figure! I have massive love handles! I have NO clue how to get rid of them, but are these considered an asset with the guys? I know alot of guys enjoy them…

  125. Amethyst on December 26th, 2010 8:03 am

    Hi mia
I love the page and how you are helping with the success of dancers. Im looking to get into dancing but I am not exactly sure on how to go about the auditions I have tried calling but no one is looking for entry level dancers at the moment. Should I take classes to get some experience?

  126. mia how to become a stripper on January 7th, 2011 10:41 am

    Hi Princess kiki

I am sorry for the dealy in writing – xmas and new year was a great time to chill…I am back now though :)

If you tone up your stomach you will be fine, You can also wear a belly chain to detract away as well as use make up

Do stoamch exercises as well as cardio like running to tone your stomach. Do crunches, reverse crunches and cross crunches, watch videos online to see how to do them properly

That will get your stomach tomed quicker, especially the reverse crunches

aim to do over 200- 300 a day and you will see results

In terms of a licence, you will need to call the club up and ask if they require a dancers licence, and they will tell you

In some clubs they will make you strip all the way to your g-string or equivalent, others will not make you strip so much, it all depends on the club

I would wait until you are tomed and then get an audition

    Good luck
    Mia xx

  127. mia how to become a stripper on January 7th, 2011 10:43 am

    Princess Kiki

About your love handles, it may make some clubs not hire you
You can get rid of them by exercise, diet and doing core exercises around that area

You should lose them before going for an audition
    Good luck
    Mia xx

  128. mia how to become a stripper on January 7th, 2011 10:46 am

    Hi Amethyst

    Thank you so much :)

When you call the clubs do not tell them you are an entry level dancer, just ask them when they hold thier auditions. Then turn up.

They may like the look of you and hire you. Most dancers are new when they star

if you want to make sure you get hired, then taking pole dancing classes for a couple of weeks will improve your chances
    Good luck

Hello Ladies, I am 37 years old, overweight, but I have always had a dream of being a dancer. Would someone be willing to mentor me through diet, exercise, DVDs to purchase, sites to visit, all during my exercise/diet program to get to where I need to be physically? I am in SE Ohio and would be willing to pay an experienced dancer to provide private lessons on dancing and being my “trainer” to get to where I need to be. Currently growing my hair long, it has a natural curl to it, brunette, dark brown seductive eyes, once I lose the weight, I may need a tummy tuck. I want to do this – and I would really enjoy meeting someone who would enjoy a “project”. :-)

    Thanks,

    Hi Mia!!

So I have seriously considered giving this a try since i was 16 and now that i’m of age i have a few questions!!

do you have any tips on how to get over the nerves?

I know im a beautiful girl ( dark hair, blue eyes, tan skin) but things like this have always made me nervous!! I’ve been a dancer since i was young and once i actually started my routine they would go away, so do you think this type of dancing will be the same?

Another worry is, I’m very athletic and toned but regardless of exercise i will always have quite large curves. My measurements are 36-25-37 and im only 5′3?

thanks you for your tips, hope to hear back from you (:

Hi, Mia. I love your tips and advice, and I was wondering, I have decent sized breasts, but they sag a little. Is that something that I’ll have to fix? I’m not sure how, without getting a breast lift? I don’t have the money for that, and I would hate to have to get any kind of plastic surgery, but it’s something that bothers me.

    Hi penguin

I know what you mean. To stop getting razor bumps, always exfoliate your legs and any where you shave. It will prevent razor bumps due to ingrown hair and make up is personal as everyone has different skin. You will have to trial on that so good luck. Youdont have to spend much as long as your skin is ok with it

You do not have to be perfect to be a stripper. But you will have to be slim and you can be think and slim, if you know what I mean? There are girls of all shapes and sizes but you will have to be tomed.

You do not have to worry about a little bit of sagging. Just test it out and see what you feel like. The main thing here is do you feel confident? If you can get over it then you will be fine. When you get to the club you will realise that every girl is not perfect and it is ok to not be

    Hi Drelia

WIth acne on the rear, you can cover with make up and use acne medication like the face. Also stick to cotton underwear, It will not matter once you are in a darker club
Also lightening down there will not matter, but you can use make up if you really are worried, You will top worrying once you realise that it does not matter

    Hi **stargarcia

Dont worry about your height. there is a comment on this blog somewhere by another girl who is 5″11 so find it as she loves being tall and you have to adopt that attitude too
You can be a supermodel and be the girl the guys dont usually get.Andy insecurity is more about you then what they guys think. You can wear heels if you want

Your stomach you can flatten with exercise and diet. It does not take much one you start
    Good luck

  147. Sierra on May 3rd, 2011 1:10 am

    Hi Star garcia!

I’m 5′11″ too and just started dancing. I was super-insecure going in to it about whether or not I’d be too tall…I brought a pair of 5 and 3/4 inch heels but I also had a pair of two inch heels that I brought with me in case they were like “whoa, you’re way too tall” or something. I asked the girl who showed me around which I should wear and she said “definitely the 6 inch heels”, so I did and the guys looooove it! It’s a great conversation starter.
I’d say wear those heels with pride! They’ll also help smooth out any other body issues (like a bit of a tummy etc.) that we all struggle with.

    :-)

I’m still trying to figure out how to be sexy and move on the stage. How do I become better at the dancing part. I’m a very sexual person i jus dont know how to stop being shy and this is something i really want i jus cant get away from being shy!

  149. Dasan on May 30th, 2011 3:26 am

@ Liza – practice and be confident – move seductively to the music, be a little mysterious and have fun with it. They are going there for a little fantasy and want to see you and if nothing else you can pretend you are someone else when you begin dancing. When the music begins to play imagine you are the most seductive and sexy stripper there imagine how you would feel if you know this and act accordingly.

ok ladies listen up! i have been dancing since i was 18 and im 22 now i have danced in several clubs state wide and i have seen every type of customer there is as well as worked with every type of girl there is. for those of you with stretch marks or are a little chunky or your teeth are crooked dont worry about it im serious even though your self concious about it be confident on the outside hold your head high have pride in yourself (dont be bitchy or stuck up) but have pride be proud of who you are and what you do for a living be outgoing sociable fun outgoing and the customers wont even notice i have girls that worked in the club i work at now who weigh 200 lbs and they always made money it wasnt thier size or their teeth or their skin texture it was their personality that sold the dances and made the tips and sold the vips and champange rooms. i recently got in a car wreck and although they are not completely gone my two front teeth got broken in half and i was nervous and scared to even show my face at my mailbox much less a club but i sucked it up did it and i still make just as much as i used to before my accident if not more.(sympathy tips lol) but im telling you dont worry about what outfit hides this the best or what hides my teeth more this lipstick or this lip gloss dont stress it as long as you have that confident proud outgoing fun loving spontaneous personality your garunteed to make money.

i have seen girls sit there all night not talk to anyone cause they are self concious then they complain cause they dont make money well sugar its not just gonna hand itsself to you you have to work for it. like most strip clubs the girls can be cliquey some are quite some are loud and obnoxious some drink alot alot alot some dont drink at all and others (sorry ladies) are straight up bitches dont be like them be you if you want start your own clique but dont get wrapped up in the drama NO ONE and i mean NO ONE likes drama.

As for outfits wear what your comfortable in wear what you like and what makes you feel sexy and seductive wear that sexy new dress and heels that you just bought or maybe a skirt and top that youve had forever! and you can alter to make more provocative (ladies you know the outfit im talkin about ya know that one that everytime you put on you feel like a diva and you always smile and flirt cause its that special outfit that puts that bounce in your step?) yep! that one! wear what makes you comfy but yet make it sexy a bikini is nice yes but want to dress up the bikini and heels look? try buying a long wrap to wear as a floor length skirt over the bottoms and leave the split in front or on one of your legs straighten your hair and crimp little sections to give yourself that tropical cutie look. or go for the miami look a short form fitting dress and regular street heels (heels that oyu can wear outside the club) and matching garter make it look like you just left a dance club and came to work. most girls love the red but most dont look good in the red lipstick so heres a trick take the red lipstick and pat it on your lips to give it the pink look and then keep going top and bottom three more times each and then apply gloss dont rub it on like normal pat it and once you get the gloss on you have the red look without the french whore appeal… ladies i say this with the deepest concern for all of you aspiring or veteran dancers.. please please please dont buy heels that you always seem to have issues with ya know the ones that are taller than the middle of your shin? and aspiring dancers i recommend getting heels that are either street heels or what the veteran dancers call trianer heels youll know them when you see them they have a very short heel and very short platform but look equally as sexy dont think cause everyone else has the mile high heels that you have to have them dont need to break an ankle ive seen so many new girls do that and end up hospitalized from falling off stage breaking bones or twisting or breaking their ankle and its just not pretty plus not all customers think its sexy.

As for those of you who are scared of your family not approving of you being an entertainer heres how i broke the news to mine and maybe itll give you some ideas..granted my mom used to dance back in her prime she was so against me getting on a pole she forbid me to ever become an entertainer so i did it anyway and i kept it secret and when i first started dancing i had several bills to pay (which my parents were paying for ) but when i made money and they started noticing my bills were already being paid that they wernt spending the money to pay them they asked me what was going on and i told them, yes they were pissed but i pointed out the fact that at least i was making money and becoming more independant and paying my own bills and not relying on them so much for the things i wanted or neededand they gradually started to accept the fact that that was the job i chose and that i was happy. no matter how made your parents get in reality all they want to do is see their little girl happy and supporting herself and trying to make it through life on her own two feet.

As for hairstyles i see alot of girls just straighten their hair and go while as sexy as straight hair may be mix it up instead of straightening it and leaving it crimp a few pieces here and there or braid a few small strands in random places instead of curling your hair all the way up try just curling the ends to about midway to give your ends body and bounce instead of the girl next door ponytail use a clip put half up half down and pull a few pieces out in front some girls like the (ghetto) look the one where you put your hair in a pony tail flip it up and tie it up in another scrunchie and slick it back with hair gel and pull the baby hair out on their face while cute as that may look from my experience majority of customers like thair down gives them something to play with and shows a bit of class. or even wash your hair let it air dry brush it it out and let your hair have its natural body show now if your the type with the hair that frizzes like no tomorrow while your hair is still damp there is a serum called biolage its like frizz ezz but it doesnt have all that oil in it so it doesnt make your hair look greasy or dirty and it adds natural shine and gets rid of the frizz just as well… some girls dont wash their hair but every other day take some baby powder just a little bit rub it in your palms and run your hands through your hair starting at the roots and going to the end then brush it out have someone check your hair to make sure there isnt huge globs or sections of it in your hair (no baby powder does not show up in black lights). for those of you who dont really like your nails professionally done or just dont have the money a simple nail clip and polish looks just as attractiveor even if you take really good care of your nails and toes the nautral look looks good as well… as for makeup i usually go with a dark midnight blue eyeshadow and of course black eyeliner and black mascara it makes they eyes look deep mysterious sexy seductive erotic (not all girls can pull this off so test the look at home before work ) and i usually just use a lightly tinted pink gloss to give my lips the fresh plump sexy look i also try to cordinate my makeup with my outfits for example: if i wore a red top black thong or bootyshorts id wear black and red eyeshadow and red lipstick if i wore a white and turquoise blue dress id wuld wear turquoise blue eyeshadow black mascara and black eyeliner with tinted gloss if i wore black and white i wuld wear white eyeshadow and gloss…as everyone knows accessories are a girls best friend try not to over do it if your the girl who does alot of pole tricks feel free to wear necklaces just not the really long ones as they will fly everywhere and slip over your head if your upside down on the pole rings are not recommended for those who do pole tricks as the pole will no matter what you do bend and disfigure your rings making them tight and almost impossible to get off your fingers and they will pinch like crazy for those who do more stage work like on your knees or back rings are the thing for you earrings go for it if your the flashy sparkly kinda gal diamond it up girlie! if your the rocker tattoo piercing kinda gal try not to do anything crazy like spikey piercings (it tends to scare away the customers)…

As for the tall girls dont worry dont think of it as your too tall think of it as you have long sexy legs and alot of guys love the long sexy legs… as for the rest of you aspiring entertainers i say go for it whats the worst that could happen?

Oh for the ones who were inquiring about “that time of month” or as the veterans call it “dancers nightmare week” cutting the string on the tampon is a good suggestion but if your anything like me and cant wear tampons or pads use toilet paper when you go to change down there take some toilet paper ball it up as much as you think you can handle putting up there (the more the better) and push it up like you would a tampon you will feel slight discomfort(nothing too extreme i promise) but once its in it feels like a tampon you cant feel it the good thing about this method is no string it lasts 2-4 hrs longer than a tampon its alot safer than a tampon so you dont have to worry about tss you can flush it (obviously cause its toilet paper) no odor if your someone who has that issue during your monthly and the way to get it out is just push like oyur givin birth just push and itll come out if your scared its stuck up there you can always use your fingers but as gross as it sounds thats what soap and water and hand sanitizer is for your hands can always be washed and the blood will go away but if you leak on stage the embarrassment and the teasing wont.

A major big huge tip i will give you girls is as pretty as it looks NO GLITTER! customers dont like glitter most are married and they come to us for relaxation and entertaiment they dont want to go home to their wife and end up gettin busted with a ton of glitter all over them. but for the most part have fun be safe be confident use your talents and make the money.. but most of all be proud of who you are or who you want to be what we do is a job like any other only we are half naked if not full nude and not on payroll but its a job ladies be proud of it dont let anyone tell you any different your all beautiful and i believe in you all you can do it. if you have any other questions about more specific topics feel free to ask anytime

    :) good luck!

    hiya,

This is an embarrassing question but I have saggy flaps (the outer ones) is there anyway to disguise this whilst in a bikini or underwear?? I’ve heard of vagina pins or something on tv??

Also is there any good padded bikini tops that will make my boobs look bigger?? Can anyone recommend a good padded bikini top?? I’ve heard of victoria secrets ones that are supposed to be good…?

    Thanks heaps!!

I love this site and it is so informative. I am 31, 5′1, and I really don’t want to say what my weight is because I need to lose 40 lbs.. lol. Elaine, I also live in Ohio and if you need a weight loss buddy, I really could use one :) I am planning to move to NYC in a few months and I really want to go back to dancing. I am reading this site not only because it is interesting, but because I honestly think I didn’t live up to my potential as a dancer before. Mercedez, those are such great tips!! I love what you said about the makeup coordinating with the outfits. I started out when I was 18, danced one day and felt guilty about myself. I danced again when I was 25, did great, and then quit. I started yet again a year ago and did wonderful- then I gained too much weight from depression. I have noticed that i cannot do the whole eating 5-6 meals a day thing because I binge. I find it easier to eat once a day- but I have noticed that this is not working either. It is becoming extremely hard at my age to lose even one pound. Mia, do you have any suggestions? I can’t afford a gym, I have a bicycle, so I can ride that, and I really can’t run due to back issues (I can still dance though, strangely enough..lol).. I have a hard time getting motivated, and I eat SO much junk food when depressed (my husband recently left me too so i am going through it even worse.) I recently ran into another dancer who said that dancing gave her the confidence in her sexuality that she had always lacked due to abuse, and I completely agree. I miss the stage, the attention, the self-confidence, and yes, of course, the money. I plan to return to school as I am an older dancer, or save the cash. I would love any advice, for example- if anyone lives in the NY area, what would be a good place to start dancing that doesnt have too many overly gorgeous girls? lol.. I have a Bettie Page haircut and a nosering and tattoos (the nosering I take out for dancing though.) Any advice on diet and exercise and clubs would be fantastic. And Elaine, if you happen to read this (Im not sure how else to reach you) I am available as a friend/diet buddy. I am great with finding websites and such too :) Have fun, ladies and remember, you will find so many men who love ALL of your looks!!! Every guy likes something different- chest size, butt, hair, style, whichever. Have confidence and smile and most of all, have fun! :)

I wear a size 36C bra but from having two kids my nipples are kinda wide 3-4 fingers to cover them. Im very insecure about this, will I be fine or do I need to hide them?

Hey I just wanted to know how do dancers get that smooth close shave in and around your pubic region without any scars or bumps. Do y’all shave, wax or what. The strip clubs where I have been, I have seen the females get almost naked even showing their vaginas. And the shaving or waxing is flawless
    What’s the trick to that????

  158. Mercedez on October 10th, 2011 5:07 am

ok dont worry about your junk down there if you feel uncomfortable with it you can double up and wear two panties girls do it all the time and its nothing to be ashamed about.
as for losing weight i only weigh 110 i used to weigh 135 i lost it by jogging everyday 2 miles eating one meal a day consisting of fruit veggies one meat (no bacon) one pasta or starch and water
as for your man girl he wasnt the one anyway if he left you like that you deserve better plus hes the one missing out not you your better than that crap. keep your head ujp it only gets easier.
as for your nipples no cause mine are the same and guys love them i mean common they are boobs guys dig boobs. as for shaving used secret unscented original solid deodarant after shaving it helps in more ways than one trust me and use conditioner or shave cream or both when you shave helps soften the skin so the hair wont pull when you shave causing those red bumps. as for the names here are a few by personality category.

Hi Mia! I have been thinking about stripping for a while now, but I have an issue; Stretch marks! I have dark purplish stretch marks on my belly area and Im very fair skinned. I was curious to know if you know how I can cover them up. Foundation, actors cover up, whats the best brand, where can I get it, will it rub off on clothing or fade during the night, and how visible will it be?

  160. Angel on November 15th, 2011 7:29 am

    Mia, Mercedez
Thank you ladies so much! This blog has helped answer almost every question I have. I’m a college student at a top university and am looking at a quarter million in student loans; I have therefore started looking into stripping and just like Trinity, I literally typed “how to become a stripper” into google and found your blog. I’m looking into auditioning and starting to strip as soon as possible.
My original game plan was to tone up, take a few pole dancing classes and then start looking into the scene for auditions, as I previously thought that was necessary, but now I’m not sure I need to go to all that trouble. Your input would be greatly appreciated!
    Here’s my current situation:
I’m 5′4 and weigh about 175 lbs but I’m proportional… I have huge boobs and a big butt with a smaller waist so even though I am definitely over weight, I don’t look like I weigh even close to what I actually am. I have stretch marks and cellulite, but from what you’ve said earlier I’m not as worried about that as I am about the jiggle I’ve got going on. A few months working at the club and exercise on the side should tone me up but should I try to do that before even bothering to audition? Or do you think I could still get a job?
I’ve got a great personality (fun, friendly, flirty) and obviously confidence to spare (one might even call it narcissism!) so I’m not too worried about striking up conversation with customers… I am, however, VERY worried about how the other girls will treat me. I’m highly educated and come from a privileged background; I’m worried that my speech patterns or small talk may pin me as ’snobby’ and the girls will alienate me (I’ve had this problem before!). Amy suggestions on how to stay on your coworkers’ good side? What are safe subjects to chit chat about when you’re getting ready, or the clubs dead?
Lastly, I’ve got no money to spare on clothes for the auditions if you do think I can go ahead and start right now, but I’ve got tons of skimpy, sexy clothes in my closet and lots of street heels. Is it ok to audition in a pair of just regular stilettos, as long as you can dance in them? A mini skirt, skimpy top and smokin’ lingerie sufficient?

Thanks again, you ladies are LIFE SAVERS!!! We love you!

  165. Cheryl on December 5th, 2011 4:15 pm

Whatever shoes they make you wear, make sure you are not getting over charged.

One of our most popular stripper shoes is the double strap.

When we bring the shoes to the clubs we always hear the girls say “I just payed $80 for that same shoe”

See our ad on the home page of this website.

    Hi Mia!

Your blog and book is great! Thanks so much for taking the time to write what we all go through as dancers! Your advice and instructions are true and helpful! Ive been working as a stripper for a year now and always make pretty good money.
But lately ive been in a sort of funk where I’m getting dicouraged easier and before you know it, its the end of the friggin night and I havent made much!
I dont know whats been going on with me the last few weeks but I cant seem to make the guys fall for me like they used to! and I feel my frustration is effecting my ability to connect with them and also my money! I went from making 800+ everynight to 200 or so this past few weeks! I will get out of this funk if its the last thing I do, can you help me figure out why and how??

Thank you sooo much and hope to hear back soon!
    -Nat

    Hi mia,
Firstly I just want to say how great this blog page is its so informative.I am 35 and have been stripping for 3months.I am from Australia.
Why is it that I am only confident to talk to men when i’ve had a couple of drinks? I wish I didn’t have to rely on alcohol to boost my confidence.I have this fear that I feel bad asking men for money, because some of them tell me they are just there to watch the stage shows, I don’t want to feel like I’m bothering them, but at the same time I have to talk to men to make an income and get lap dances. :)

a few questions, how do you ladies lose weight quickly without starving yourself?

what are good outfits to wear if you dont exactly have a bikini body just yet?

my thighs become very irritated from the pole how do you avoid the bumpy rash in your thigh area from the pole?

how do you stay motivated and does anyone have a routine before going into work?

    thanks a bunch

I just started working as a dancer, my first day I didn’t have the right shoes, but had to make do with what I already had, after only 3 sets on the stage, I got blisters on my toes, what is the best way to deal with blisters when you have to dance again the next day?

OK here’s my question… I am interested in possibly becoming a stripper… but I have always been the “cute” and innocent girl…. I’ve always wanted to be like a sex kitten but I’m just not really sure how to be… so is there away to make the cute innocent type work? and still be sexy/ make money? or are there anytips in just being more sexy? I mean ithink I look hot enough I’m also 5′ 11″ and got offered a modeling contract but turned it down because I didn’t have time with school…. I also am not a twig so wasn’t sure how realistic it would be… I weigh in at 172… but at my height that’s healthy…. any tips? please and thank-you!

I’m kinda flabby and I’m wondering if there is any hope for me? Advice is appreciated very much!!! Thanks, Sydney.

Hi! Thank you for all the information you’re sharing! It is really helpfull!
    But I have a question. It’s kinda embarassing…
I really want to become a stripper, like really soon. I seriously need a way to get some money and I can’t get a normal job because I’m a solider and it’s illegal =\
Anyway, I look good, and I can dance pretty well. Actually my body is almost perfect. Why almost? Because I have an acne problem =\
I have acne all over my back. Like from the shoulders to the lower back, and even a little bit on my chest. Actually it’s not much of an acne problem but a scars/marks problem =\ Sure I’m taking care of it and it is better recently, but it will take some time for it to be gone and until then…I know it’s going to be a problem to be a stripper like that… I just want to know how bad of a problem could this be? Do you have any experiance with this or any advice?
Also I want to know how noticeable is acne with the club lights? Maybe it could help hiding it? Or maybe the opposite? Maybe I could be wearing a fishnet top or something?
I’m really worried about this, so anything would help me!

    Hi,

I used to dance over 8-9 years ago & am planning on moving to Florida in a few months. Was thinking of getting back into dancing again.

But I’m now 36 years old. Do you think they allow women over 30 to dance in clubs?

By the way, I workout 5-6 times a week. And am in great shape. But I’m only a 36-38 C cup breasts. Wonder if they still accept naturals?

Anyway, another question I have is: Can I stay with my black hair or do I have to lighten it? I prefer to stay dark brunette, but do they still use dark haired women in clubs? Just wondering.

    Thank you XOXO,
    Liana

Hello! Great article, I think I read every single comment that was posted also! Very informative.

I have a few questions and any feedback would be appreciated.

Well one is just weird and I don’t know if anyone here would be able to answer..Do most of these tips apply to male strippers?

Back to why I’m really here…
I’m a gay masculine male who is very artistic and was thinking about doing custom pieces for performers. I know you advertise a site on here where clothing can be purchased and I’m not looking to take business away from your ‘partner’.

-Are there any pieces that you’d like but find very difficult to find?
-Are there any particular sizes that you have a really hard time finding?
-As far as dancers or strippers, what types of bras or tops do you find more comfortable to perform in? Straps or strapless?
-What types of materials do you prefer?
-Where would you be open to purchasing? Social media? If your local do you go out and purchase your own pieces? Would it be easier to have someone bring inventory to you or your place of work?
-Do people bring outfits to the establishment to sell? If so, how would I go about doing this? I’d think it would be pretty difficult for a male to do this and not look like a total creep.lol
-Is it easier for you to buy pieces together or separately considering top and bottoms sizes can be completely different.

I admire how passionate some dancers are to go out there and get that money and also all the confidence that have to do this. I am gay, but I’m actually one of the few that actually enjoy going to the straight and gay strip clubs and seeing the performances. Any information as far as the questions I asked or additional insight would be appreciated!

    Thanks

I’m interested about applying at my local club, however I have a big scar on my stomach from a surgery I needed to have a few years ago. Its too big to hide, is there anything I can do?

I bruise very easily and dancing on the hard surface of the stage leaves me covered in bruises. It’s mostly on my shins, knees, and shoulder blades and is extremely painful! How can I prevent this or cover up the bruising? It takes almost a week to fully recove, which is obviously not good for $$!
