How to become a stripper – What you will need to decide
>Filed Under Stripper Tips | 36 Comments
If you are still sitting on the fence and want to know more on how to become a stripper then here are some things you can use to questions you can ask yourself if you want to give it a try -
1) Can you take rejection?
I know no one likes the thought of rejection and who really likes it? No one.
So why would anyone do a job where they are likely to get rejected? Well it is because they can learn how to not take it personally. Now I admit, I am a really sensitive person, and when I started I used to cry a lot. This was because I used to think the customers did not like me.
I soon realized that it was not me they were rejecting, after all how could they reject me? They don’t even know me? They either made a snap decision or it may have nothing to do with me. I have since become a lot more resilient to rejection. In fact I just brush it off and think of all the customers who really like me. So it does get easier
2) Do you enjoy talking to people?
In this job you will be talking ad listening, so it is vital you enjoy it. I am quite shy, and would never be the first person to strike up a conversation. I had to force myself to speak to people when I first started. It was because I was not very confident. As I forced myself to do speak to people ( almost like jumping into a swimming pool when you don’t know how deep it is!) I became more confident. I still get nervous before speaking to someone, but find it a lot easier.
3) Can you handle an irregular income?
Some nights you will earn nothing and others, hundreds or even thousands. You can never tell. I can tell you even though it is up and down, monthly or yearly it does even out if you are good. That is why I would learn how to make money, either by trial and error or from a professional like Jessica. So make sure you can handle the constant up and down and learn to look at the bigger picture.
4) Can you motivate yourself?
As a stripper, you can go into a club and sit there all night and not move. No one will say anything to you. That is why you need to be able to motivate yourself. This also does get easier.
If you can handle the above ( notice I did not say do, as you will learn a lot on the job) then you will be a great stripper. I look forward to eharing from you all.

[...] you have never worked in a club before, there is a basic process on how to become a stripper, getting a job is more or less the same in all clubs around the [...]
Rejection is the hardest part, because no matter what not everyone is going to like you. But the feeling of doing a good show that the ppl enjoyed over rides the negitivty of rejection.
Good post– drew
Hi I’m interested in being a stripper but on the low low. but my question is my appearance I’m very short and people always say I look young as young as 14 but I’m 23 and it sux but I want to know if I could get rejected for looking so young? Do people who look young get paid good? Should my provocative clothes and lingerie be more dark colors like red or black maroon ect. to make me look older? and what do I wear on stage before I strip? Should I wear casual clothes or a sexy skirt and sexy shirt and underneath lingerie? I’m planning on trying out January so I can flattin my tummy a little more because after my second child it’s gotten a little less flat. Plus I want to save money, take pole dance classes and audition. Please help and e-mail me back if u can. Thanks!!! Wish me luck!
btw i’m 4′8″. What type of heals are best for shorties like me? If u think I am a good catch. I’m not ugly I’m pretty it’s just a matter of height and age appearance. Thanks!
Hi Ria
Thanks for your messages
You will be fine at 4′8″
there are girls who will be shorter and taller. It really does take all sorts of girls
You can also wear platform stripper heels which will give you 5-6 inches. So dont worry
You can look older by wearing more gown like dresses and doing your hair in a more sophisticated style
Also don’t worry about looking you, you will do great
About stripping on stage, make sure the outfit you is wear is something that the club you are going to audition usually gets the girls to wear.
Meaning you will have to buy an outfit, cbut you can go cheap at ebay
Good luck and don’t worry about your height or your appearance. You will be very tahankful one day
Good luck. Comer back and tell us how it goes

Thanks so much! I got an outfit yesterday and I practiced on my boyfriend and he seemed to really like it a lot! So that helps. I’m going to call a few places today for auditions.
Hey Ria
That is fantastic. I like how you practiced on your boyfriend
I am pelased he liked it
I would say before testing too many lap dances etc on your boyfriend, just be a little aware cause he knows you are going to be doing that for other mena dn it may give him to much of a graphical image and that may make him jealous
Just a thought
Good luck at the auditions, come and tell us how it goes

My audition was okay well my dancing on the pole was okay. I’ve never touched a pole and I had no clue on what I could do so I just held it and danced around it. I only got 4$ for those 2 songs. :-/ but I will try again today. The dj and girls well all of the workers were very very nice. I had no attitude or haters. They asked for me to stay the whole night but I decided to go home. I asked the girls on ideas on what to do they said take a shot lol I said umm… no. I know myself and when alcohol is envolved I am a total oppisite. I do get wild but I want to be sober the ride home. The club I work at is nude but I’m the second girl to say no to that. So do u have any suggestions on what to do for the 1sr song and the last(which is when lots of others get naked) thanks soo much for you support! My boyfriend isn’t usually jealous so hopefully this won’t change that.
do u need a perfect body to strip??
Okay so today o worked from 4pm to 12am and it sucked so much it was slow up until 11 and all I got was 11$ I know it was my 1st real time but why are people so damn cheap? I also had to pay for my drink and fries and dj. So I came home with only 6$ very very hard. I want to quit! The dancers are pretty cool though. But I’m not happy so far:-( I don’t want to give up because I’m hoping id get cash but its making me angry. Not to mention the dj sux! I wish I could just be a bartender because they gety paid and get tips that they don’t have to pay. Btw I don’t have to pay the house for 2 weeks. Should I try to stick along for the 2 free weeks?
Hi Ria
First of all Well done at the audition. You will get better
As you dont want to get naked you can do first dance with clothes on and the second topless?

And that is great about your boyffriend
Keep practicing

Hey Isabella
You don’t need to be perfect, just firm
there are girls of all shapes and sizes, so don’t worry
good luck

Hi Ria
If you want money in th is industry you are going to have to change your attitude
Soem of the best dancers are the ones wh started off suckiung real bad, including myself
If you want a job with security, then dancing is not for you, cause it is a job where the lows can be really low and the highs really high
people are not cheap and you cannot see them like that. There are people who are more careful with thier money and others who are not as much
It is your job to learn how to maek them want to give it to you
That is why Jessica teaches girls how to make money as it is a skill
If you are resenting not earning now, then you may be better off doing the bartenders job as that is more seciure in pay, but it is also the same and can never reward like our job does
It is totally up to you if youwant to continue,
but for you to make any money you are going to have to change yoru attitude fast, or you will come home with very little money every night
Good luck

Also I’m kinda of scared of dancing of stage…I kind of don’t like the idea of all eyes on me but this is something always wanted to do can you plz give me more tips on how to be more confident so that I will be able to make my money while having fun with it…. Oh I wanna know how to deal with the other dancers because I’m really not much of a female person meaning that I don’t really like talking to woman…I don’t have many female friend or many friend @ all but anyway plz help I want to start SOON!
That’s true I was upset when I wrote that. I will give it another try but will be concious that its not all garunteed cash. Thanks.
Hi Ria

hi T’Chera
Being shy is normal, and what I find happens to
girls is that they become less shy as they wrok, cause it makes you have to talk to people and because you have to you will.
If you are too shy then this may not be the job for you
Conversation is just asking people what they did that day and how they are. It is exactly like if you met someone for the first time, which you have done quite a lot.You will pick it up
Dancing on stage – being scared is normal. I was shaking on stage my first time, and i still get nervous a little, but I am used to it and so you will to. Also you can pretend you are someone else. This helps and is what Jessica teaches.
That will make your more confident.
Dealing with other dancers is however you want it to be. If you don’t want to talk to them you don’t have to, or you can talk to a few. You can just talk to them if you feel like it. In most clubs they won’t bother with you if you don’t bother with them. So you don’t have to worry
All i can say is put yourself in the situatuin and you will make yourself. If you can’t then it might not be the right job for you. For a lot of girls it isn’t
Good luck

Hello Mia,
I’m not a stripper but I have played around, putting on a show and people have responded with compliments. I need to make big money and I really enjoy the sensuality of it all. I have a lot of worries. As far as, what people might say or being recognized (but people are gonna talk anyways, right?) I’ve thought of going out of state to work but I need to make money first…
I saw on a different blog of yours, saying you might be needing a volunteer to help setting up another blog
Thanks,
Dela
Hi Candela
Thank you for your email
Yes people will always talk
If you need to maek money the best way is to get a normal job and strip as much as you can as you need to learn how to make money and while you are doing that you can end up with very little money
The fastest way to learn how to make money is with Jessica Simmonds.
About the blog it is not a well paid option s it will not be what you need
Thank you anyway and good luck

hey Mia
my name is Kadie and i am 19 years old, iv become very interested in stripping and pole dancing but have never really tried either. i was wondering if there are places in my area where i can go and kinda just try it out and maybe make a few bucks on the side.
Maybe see if i really like it and if i have the talent
xoxo
Kadie
How do you know what to do when ur dancing?
Hi Kadie
You can go ang try it in any club for a day, although they may ask you to get a licence before you start. Just go into your local clubs and ask them when thier audition is and go and try it
Good luck
Mia xx
Hi Leigh
If you want, go to a strip club and watch some dancers. That will help you realise that most of the dancing is just sensual moving and that the pole tricks can be learnt and are not expected from new girls in most clubs
Good luck

Will you gain more confidence??? i’m a wife an mother of 2 children 5′1 an have never done something this crazy before.. husband just lost his job iv’e filled out so many applications an sent out my resume in the last year so many times its unreal an its hard to get in any were when you haven’t worked in almost 5 yrs, sure i went to college but still no luck so i thought this would be a good i idea to bring in some cash because bills wont pay for them selfs an i was very surprised that my husband was okay with it! i just what to know what to wear , should i go an watch other additions to get a feel for the environment before i try it out, or should i just be bold an ballsy an just do it like my friend did…. I’m just really shy at first but wen i get to know people watch out cuz i’m a bomb shell ready to burst!! Any pointer i’ll take all the advice i can get… dose it matter if i’m a very short top heave, curvy woman…. i dont know i just wanna do my best an not look dumb my first time…..
I’ve always wondered how do girls dance during their period…I’m one of the unfortunate females who experience a heavy flow every month to the point where I have to use a tampon and pad at the same time…(sorry for the gross details)…but my question is, are girls allowed to take that time off during their period every month if needed or do they have to work regardless???
hi! ok i have a serious question.. =) i will be 29 this june 6th. am i too old to start stripping. moneys tight, and my husband wont mind me helping..he has even mentioned that i have the perfect stripper azz and body..lol.. by tummys a lil poochy but im alright..lol.. im tall also so that makes me feel a lil more awkward than usual. im 5′11” long brown hair….i dont wanna dance no where ghetto either. like catty girls who hate and treat me bad. and im scared to look silly on stage..even though i KNOW i can dance and look hot. hellllp
ur so rite about all of this
hi mia!
I’m actually auditioning monday on ameture night, and I’m really stoked! however I’m really concerned about a few things; 1.that my moves are not coordinated and I am not that great a dancer, I know how to move sensually and enjoy it, but my husband, who is all for it and cheering me on, keeps telling me to not ‘dance’ or dance to the beat when its fast and fun, despite when I really want to, I understand the importance of being slow and sensual, but I want to be my usual fun loving self that enjoys company, and I’m really clashing with the husband about how i should do my moves, and its really making me nervous! 2. I’ve had a son, and my body has gone back to normal, but I’m not as tight as I used to be, and I’m a very small bust ( 32 B) and I worry that I look more like a boy than a woman, especially with my hair being short, will that affect anything at all?
wow im so glad to see someone else who uses the name Gigi..lol.. my friend said it sounds like an old woman’s name but I love it
I have always used it!!! Just thought I would say that because I saw your name, with the capital G’s
hey… i’ve just graduated from college in May. I haven’t found a job yet in my field and im tired of being broke.lol I have always had a crazy edge for stripping but was scared wat ppl would think of me. I have made up my mind that im going to go for it but still get butterflys just thinking about it. I just moved to KS. whr it’s mostly White. I am a african american female with beautiful face and a huge butt.. do you think race would be a factor for me?
hi, im 17, about to be 18 in two weeks. ive never had any experience stripping or any of that matter in front of an audience..would i still be able to get the job? i have taken dance in gymnastics a long time ago..i also was wondering if i should wait til im done with high school which is this year or if i should start right away?? is it a full time position? any advice would be appreciated! thanks!
U r my IDOL! I want to become a stripper for the money….and because it’s excersize. Its a profession….I mean, it’s fun! It’s expressing sexuality and femininity. Its not a sin or crime. Itl help pay for college
hello my name is ivanna and iam 20yrs old, im thninkn about becoming a stripper as well but iam very shy of my body i have a son that is one and im left with some stretch marks on my hips and thighs and i dont know if that will b a problem? also how do we make a stage name? thanks:)
Hello,
I’m 20 years old and debating stripping. I’ve won numerous booty shaking contest and told that I should strip. I love to dance, but more at a fast pace. Does it matter how fast or slow you dance? I also do not know how to do any pole tricks. Should I learn before auditioning or is it easy to get hired without them? Thanks so much!!
Well I’m gonna dance Saturday. I believe its amateur night. To the two previous girls one stretch marks are fine ,its gonna be dark. And no it doesn’t matter if you’re dancing slow or fast. I love dancing fast. Otoh I’m 19 5′2 105 flat stomach pouty booty, its very loose when I dance. Im flexible and I’m actually stretching now. I’m motivated and I have confidence. I plan on making alot I know I can do it. Because the other day I gave out some dances and made 300 w/ jogging pants on that weren’t even tight. I was just vibeing the whole time. I didn’t take anything off. So now I’m really about to go in. Got my 6 inch over the knee boots nd my 25inch weave. Im ready
Hey girls,
Fun little story for you guys. At the moment, I am unemployed and have seriously been contemplating stripping to help straighten out life again. When I was 18, a few of my girlfriends took me out to a club and bought me a dance on stage. Somehow, I ended up dancing on stage myself and had a blast with it! (So for you nervous girls, relax and let that tigeress flow
) Three years, a terrible relationship, and a beautiful son later, I keep thinking about how much fun I had and how I got offered a job that night. I think once my taxes come back, I’ll hit up the store to sexy up and take my chances at an audition. Sure, I have stretch marks, and I’m not as tiny, but damnit I have confidence and I know I still look great! In the mean time, squats, exercise, lots of water, and dancing by myself. I would say wish me luck, but I’d rather say wish me confidence!
