How To Become A Stripper School 101
If you have never worked in a club before, there is a basic process on how to become a stripper, getting a job is more or less the same in all clubs around the world.
The first place to start is by looking for suitable clubs in your area. Different clubs have different feels, you just have to find the one that feels the most comfortable to you. It may be a good idea to grab a male friend and take a look around a couple of clubs before applying. You can also search the club on the Internet and look for customer reviews, this can give you an idea of the type of place it is.

Clubs are always looking for strippers. As i’ll explain later, girls generally get paid for what they earn, so really the club has nothing to lose. Strippers (also refered to as dancers) have many different looks, clubs try and fulfill customer demand by employing lots of different looking girls.
The first step in how to become a stripper is where a girl will call or visit a club shes interested in and ask to speak to the manager, and ask if they are looking for dancers. She will then be invited to an audition at the club on a specific date.
This maybe a group audition i.e. with other girls or you may be on your own. These are all great tips on how to become a stripperlearned from people actually doing the job, no theory here!
On the day of the audition, you will be asked to get changed and usually dance on stage to one or two songs. Don’t obsess too much on the dancing at this time, just watch the other girls and copy them or even better watch some videos on YouTube and practice in front of a mirror beforehand.
Most clubs work on a three song set. That is the first song you dance clothed, second song remove something, third song dance naked. Just get lost in the music as you would if you were a lone or with a lover. While doing your research on the club find out what kind of music they play (fast, upbeat, dancey) and practice to that type of music. If you get a chance practice in front of friends that will help boost your confidence.
Also find out what type of outfits the girls wear is it a gown type dress or more lingerie, it all depends on the type of club so do your homework and take some appropriate clothing with you. Also, don’t forget to take id with you to the audition and maybe some music that you are familiar with, if you don’t have this you may not be able to audition.
Always keep a smile on your face and make eye contact with your audience.
You’ll need shoes, 3 inches minimum and don’t forget to wear the shoes in, before your audition. Your first time auditioning is always going to be nervous for anyone, in fact you may be scared stiff, do not get tempted with a little liquid courage i.e. do not consume alcohol it will only make you feel less co-ordinated and you will start a bad habit. Just remember we all started somewhere and in time it will become second nature just like any other job.
At the end of the audition the manager or house mom(usually in charge of looking after the girls) will let you know if you got the job or not. If you don’t get the job ask for some feedback and ask when you can re-try. Don’t take rejection personally, after all they don’t know you do they?
Just work on the points they tell you or try another club. This is usually the same process on how to become a stripper and get started in all places around the world.

this is very useful information!!
I’m glad you found the information useful and this
helps get your career started or take it to a bigger level
Thank You
Thanks for this valuable info. I’m a mother of 3 month old baby. I am also a college student with dat loans. Sort of into debt w/ a credit card. I been told I have an exotic look since im birarcial. And im 5′3 with just a little pudge I planning to tone and flatten that pudge appreciate the diet tips. Also I been watching youtube videos like crazy. I plan to strip as a mends to end. I want to pay off my loans and pay off my credit card debt. As well as get a home for me and my daughter and a car. But I have a quick question. You see I have a few stretch marks on my butt as well as stomach. They are very light and thin. But you can still see them. Do you think they would not hire me for that? And do you think I can be able to cover it up w/makeup?
Hi Saucii
Thank you for the appreciation. It is definatly a means to an end and it will give you a better life. There are many mothers working in my club, even one with 3 children and she does great
I am glad you are working out…it is quite important to be toned
As for the stretch marks do not even worry about that…it is very dark in most clubs and men do not even care. I have stretch marks everywhere as i have lost and gained weight several times. You can over with make up but you probably will find you do not need to
I really wish you good luck
Mia
I am a very beautiful chocolate toned woman who is considering dancing ive always loved to dance and im very very good at it. Problem is when i have checked out certain clubs in my area managers have told me they only want dancers w/ “expierence” how common is that? Also do you find that discrimination goes on in the strip club industry?
Hi Nubian,
I am glad you are toned and are a great dancer…you will find that aspect really easy. There are certain clubs that do want dancers with experience…..it is usually because new dancers cause a lot of rrouble in clubs because they do not know the rules and can lose the clubs licence. If that is the case then it would be worth trying a not so great club( although make sure it is safe) or travel to one for a while that will hire you and gain the experience you need…before reapplying to the other club again. I have not really heard of discrimination in the club since i have many chocolate toned girls in my club and they always have the best bodies! So go in with a positive attitude and do not let that distract you from doing your best…if they miss out on you …it is thier loss and there are more clubs
I wish you good luck

hi…ive recently been lookin into beconing a dancer and i need some advice. im about 5′6 light skinned beautiful girl. my mother is white and dad is rican. i am alwayz told i have a nice body but ma stomach jiggles a bit. its fairly flat but it not tight…should i work on that?? also i wear glasses and i have yet to see a dancer with glasses do you suggest contacts?? any advice yu have ill apprentice it.
Hi Riican Mamii,
Sorry for the delay in writing , i have been on vacation.
You sound gorgeous…I would definatly work on the stomach, although a lot of girls do not have the perfect stomach…I know i havent!
But i would work on it, try going to an audition to see if it is acceptable…also you will want to work on it for yourself, the more confident you are, the better you will perfiorm.
In terms of contacts, its all about your own confidence…i have seen very few girls wearing glasses…it depends, do you look better with them on or off?
I really wish you luck…let me know how it goes
Mia
Hi there,
I want to start dancing to help support myself so I can move out and afford health care. I went to a club and they said I had to pay them $100 to dance, is that common? Secondly I have been a dancer [jazz ballet falmenco] for about 10 years and I taught hiop hop, will I pick up this dance style quickly? And when and where do you work on pole dances?
Thanks much!
Hi! Thank you for all the useful information. I am a student looking to make some money and pay off my loans. I have worked in bars since I was legally able to and I feel like I have the body, looks, and personality to be a dancer. Beyond my concerns about auditioning, I am concerned about what being a stripper could do for my future. I am planning on a career in journalism some day, but I don’t know how the paperwork works for being a dancer. If I dance, will there be a record of me being a stripper? Do strippers pay taxes? Can I use a fake name? Please don’t get me wrong, I would be proud to make money as a dancer. But, I just want understand how it all works. Thank you.
HI!!!
I was thinking about dancing as a part time weekend only gig.
Do dancers ever wear masks?
Is it a good idea to work with a friend and split earnings, or is this a solitary profession?
I am curious and practicing moves, but I am terrified of dancing somewhere that someone would recognize me( or worse yet, know my relatives). Does this mean that dancing is a bad Idea for me?
If I dance, I would like to know that my money and my identity can’t be tracked. HOw does a stripper income work with taxes?
I guess what it boils down to is that I would like to do it, earn an income, but keep EVERYTHING discreet. Can this possibly work?
Thanks so much!!!
Hi G,
Thank you for your email. Mostly all clubs charge girls to dance there. This is common. Usually the more potential to make money the more they charge. $100 is quite a lot so it probably is a club worth checking out,but make sure you learn what you are doing.$100 to lose every night soon adds up. If you are going to start, read Jessica Simmonds book 7 Step Strip Success to learn how you can cover the house fee and more. Thats how I learnt.
In terms of dancing, Your dance background will really help. You will pick up the dancing very easy, watch some Utube videos, and you can go to pole dancing classes. They hold them everywhere. Look it up online for your area
Good Luck
Mia
Hi Sierra,
As a stripper you will have to pay taxes so you will have to get an accountant. In terms of your future, your records will probably say you were an entertainer/dancer or something of that sort. There shouldnt really be a way for anyone to find out really what work you were doing, unless they were really investigating
I hope that helps and good luck
Mia
Hi Asada,
I have never seen dancers wearing masks. It can be a great idea to work slightly further away from where you live if your concerned about being recognised. This is so that you do not get seen by someone you know. Also that it is really only your opinion that should count, but I know it does matter to you. In terms of taxes, Someone who wants to really investigate will be able to find out that you were a dance, but if they are generally looking, then they will just see that you were an entertainer/dancer.
You can work with a friend, but I wouldnt say its a good idea to split earnings. It is better to work on your own and have a friend where you both help each other out when and as you can
I hope that was helpful
Good luck
Mia
hi mija my name is jessica. i always dreamed of
becoming a stripper at least for part time because
i work full time and i also love my job, but i al
ways wonder if you guys focus on the image of the
body, i know i can lose weight fast and i look nice but of course i dont have big boobs or a flat
stomach, and i also have two kids and maybe i am
old to strip, i am 31 years old, so what do you
think?
Hey, this is great info. Very helpful;) I can’t wait to try it out;)
Hi Jessica,
You are not too old to strip…In one of the clubs I work in their is a 40 year old…it just depends on how old you look. Having children is fin too, I have a girlfriend who has 3 children too.
Having the small boobs are not a problem, although you will need to tone your stomach.
You will need to be toned for most clubs.
The best guidance is to maybe go for an audition and see what they say, they may tell you that you need to just tone your stomach or lose weight
I hope that helps
Mia
And thank you little miss curious
Hi, my name is Dee and I am 21 yrs old. My back is up against the wall right now, financially, and I’ve always thought about stripping as a means of making money until I am stable. Guys tell me all the time that I have the body for it when I joke about it. I wanted to know: 1) how do you audition/get hired, 2)where do you keep your money/tips until you leave, and 3)since you probably have a lot of 1s, 5s, 10s, and 20s, do you deposit money into a bank account to trade them for bigger bills? Thanks!
Hi Dee,
I am so sorry that you are in this financial trouble.
1)To get hired, and audition,I would find a club you like and phone them. Ask them what the process is, they should tell you. Also ask them what you should wear. And finally practice some pole dancing “moves” by watching pole dancing basic video on you tube.
2) Your money you should keep on you at all times, either in a purse or around a garter belt.
it depends on what the club allows
3)Your money, you can deposit how you like it. the bank will take it in any form.
Good luck

Hey Mia,
I am 17 and I would like to get a job as a dancer when i turn 18. Im pretty nervous about auditioning but most of all im worried about learning to pole dance.
I guess my queston would be, if Im hired would they teach me to pole dance? Or do you think I should take a class before I audition?
If you have any tips for an aspireing dancer that would help so much.
Thanks,
Tay<3
Hi Tay
Most girls are nervous about pole dancing. If you would like to feel confident, you can go to a few local classes, which will give you a boost
If you do not go to a class before, you will learn as you work there, because you will pick it up as you watch and practice, but if you want to really be prepared, I would go to a class
Make sure you have your body toned and come back to read more on this blog as it will help you
Feel free to ask any more questions
Good Luck Tay

I have just found a great blog that talks to girls about the great clubs in West Palm beach Florida, especially Rachels Club Check it out at http://www.rachelsclub.wordpress.com
It is a great blog for Girls in our industry!
hi!
im 16 and my family is really havin financial troubles. i would like to work in a strip club because i love dancing and seems fun and i can get money. will they hire me if i tell them my situation???
thx!
I’ve really been researching everything I can about being a stripper online, and I’m about to go for it. What I didn’t realize was all the paperwork and money involved in even getting a job! I live in California and I need to get an Adult Entertainer Permit, and a Business license, which will end up costing me about 200 dollars. It seems like a lot of women who are financially in a hole get into stripping and I don’t see how anyone has this kind of money when they need it so badly. Nothing online really tells much about it and a lot of stuff on the forms I need to fill out is confusing. I don’t really have anyone I can talk to about this and I just want to talk to someone who’s gone through it already. For a business permit would you put your name for business name? Or the place you’re going to apply to?
I would like to teach pole dancing…do you know how to get started…? Or where to buy the poles & costumes, etc…?
Hi Missy, I am sorry for the delay in answering, I have been on holiday and have just got back in the swing of things. To be honest, I am so sorry to hear about your situation. But I know most clubs will not hire you if they are run properly. I know in RI they allow 16 year old girls to dance legally, I dont really know where you live.
Also as you are only 16, I would get a normal job until you are 18 as there is a lot of situations which you face in a strip club, which you will need some maturity and experience for. I am sure you are mature, But I would really not advise a 16 year old to do this job. Get a regular job and help your family
Good luck
Miaxx
Hi Lauren,
Again I am so soory for the delay in replying, I have been on holiday. Ok
so for your form. I would suggest the best people who can help you with your forms and legal issues is http://www.exoticdancerrights.com also I know Jessica offers a service which will help you fill out the form when you get her book 7 Step Strip Success. Also she puts you in contact with girls in your area that have been through it and will help you
I know it is a lot of money to start , but once you do, you will not look back if you start properly
Good Luck

Hi i have a couple questions about dancing.
I have had three children two by ceserean my stomach is pretty flat but i have light colored stretch marks but alot and my belly button area got messed up because of a hernia from the pregnancy. Being that its about looks would that matter some what of a great deal if i decided to audition? ALso i have worked out continuously to tone by butt, but i just cant seem to get it toned its perky and big but just moves all around. Is that a plus or minus when going to audition? I am not a very big girl so it stand out. And my last question is the breast. Do your breast have to be a certain size/look? (cup, nipple, etc.)
Hi Nini
The strecth marks are not really a poblem as most girls have them and in the dark that will not really be obvious. The belly button area is dependant on how you feel and if the club doesn’t mind as you will be getting naked in from of these men and have to explain everytime
Your butt is another thing I wouldn’t worry about as long as you don’t look really big you should be fine. You need to go to an audition to get feedback, then you will know, without a photo, I really cannot comment as what is big to one person may be fine to another. Your breast can be any size, shape etc I have seen it all, so definatly do not worry about that
Good luck

Hi, my name is kaylee and I have been dancing for 5 years. I just crossed over your blog and wanted to say that I agree with all of your information on your page and that you have great advice for these ladies. If you’re ever in Vegas, stop by The Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club and say hi!Thanks!Kaylee
Hi Mia-Love your name! Listen, this is a risky question for me..but I seriously would love the advice. I am a teacher who is a single mom. I work really hard but barely make enough to get by. I went to school a long time but am not compensated enough. I have no savings
. I have thought about stripping as I am a great dancer. I am good at bellydancing/latin..and all sorts. I have a fun, bubbly attitude and I know that I would probably fit in well into this industry. I dont have the biggest breast (a cup) from having a child..they arent perky anymore either…but everything else is in great shape..no flab or anything. Here is a few questions: If I teach now, could the district find out if I did this on the side at a far away location somehow? Is there any way around the paperwork so as to avoid the possibility of getting caught? Is stripping safe and do you have to give lap dances? Or could I just entertain and perform? On average, how much do strippers make a month/year? Thanks so much for your help!
Hey Mia,
I’m have a medium caramel, soft brown, complexion and I have a flat stomach, D cup boobs, and a pretty face. I’m mixed (Native American, African American and French).
The thing is, I have a quarter sized dark birthmark on my right side and I have a dime sized light birthmark on my left lower back, will this be a problem? It’s not extremely noticeable but is still there and decently noticeable.
Also, My legs and butt are a little thick, (Not extremely fat or anything, just thick) My pants size are like a 9. My hips are about 39″ when my waist is like 29″… Are my legs and butt a problem too? Or will my upper torso and small waist take away from that?
Men haven’t complained, since I have a coke bottle shape figure, but I’m not sure what a strip club will think…
Hello
This info is great! I’m 22 & I’m a Native American with large blue eyes… I was a dancer & gymnast as from age 4 until I graduated from high school. I’m in great shape but I feel my legs may be too big & muscular. Is this unattractive? Also, is saftey a major concern? I know you have to be smart, but how are you able to determine if you will be able to work safely?
Thank you
Hi Kaylee,
i am so pleased that you like my blog as it means a lot!
I will defo stop by when I am in Vegas!
Thanks
Mia x
Hi redapples, Sorry for the delay in writing and thank you for the compliment!
Ok, you sound like you would fit into this industry.
I am sure your breasts are fine, being an A cup is fine as there are a lot of girls with many different size and shape breasts.
It is great you have all this experience in dancing!
I am not sure about the district finding out and what concern that would cause them. I am almost sure that if you do it far away enough you will be ok. Although it would be great if you could anonomously find out what would happen if you did get found out.If you want to just try it, find a clubb that is furthest from your home and district and see how you do. If you do it for a while you can at least see the potential. Hey you may find that you earn more then enough to quit your day job and just become a dancer. You will have to try it for a while and see if you like it or not.
In terms of pay you can earn anything from – (yes minus) to thousands a night. Depending on where you work and how good you are. Jessica teaches how to make money, so I would go to her for that.
Stripping is safe if you treat it with the respect it deserves, and keep your wits about you. In most clubs you have to give lap dances, although there are some clubs where you get get tipped to perform. There are alos clubs where the lap dance is anything from an air dance ( where there is no touching) to full on grinding. I prefer the air dances and find that you can earn great money in clubs like this if they are near where you can get to.
Hey Ginger, you sound great!
I am sureyou will be fine. As long as you are toned, most clubs will be really happy with your shape and size. I think the best thing is to go and audition and see the feedback you get. Although you do sound great
Best of luck
Mia xx
Hi Elaina D
Thank you for the compliment
I am sure you legs are great and sexy as muscular can look really defined.
In terms of safety, read my safety page and follow the rules. ALso on your first couple of nights make sure someone you trust picks you up so and are at hand if you need to call them and get them to come and get you. Also I would work in big clubs that seem well run. You can check them out when you go and visit them before auditioning on a night out with friends/boyfriend. Most clubs are safe, but I would always check them out

question… i want to start stripping because i cant seem to get a job and if i dont come up with $$ in 2 weeks my fiance that is coming 3000miles away to be with me will be on the streets and so will i…
ne ways, i just wanted to ask, what if i cant dance as good…. i have bad stage fright…. there’s a club that said they’d take me but im so nervous…
and in my state i guess we have to pay 100dollars for a contractors card… which means we can work at that club legally… or something on that bases.. they let you work there 3days and you can pay them that way or up front or win at amateur night….
ne way is there ne other advice you could give me???
and i have sensitive inner thighs so when i shave it gets irritated and i get alot of bumps…. do you think thats going to be a problem?? im just kinda embarrassed of my own body… im 5′5 dark hair blue eyes 115lbs…. 34C chest… and some times i get little bumps on the thigh/bum Reagen… from my pants….
just want some advice before i go in there looking like a chicken with its head cut off if u kno what i mean….. well thanx!
-Ridd.
Hi Ridd,
i am sorry to hear about your situation
Dont worry about dancing great, most girls cannot dance, just practice in front of the mirror. Also you will pick it up as you dance more at the club, just by watching the other girls. About stage fright, everyone gets that in the beginning, just to different degrees. You need to make yourself just do it by pretnding you are there alone and do it. Once you have done it once you will realise that it really is no big deal. Go to a few auditions at other clubs to practice.
You can try and win amatuer night if you want., but all girls have to get the contracters card. Your club is nice to let you work it off slowly. I suggest you take their offer.
You are so lucky to be the weight and height you are. Most girls would love to be like you. In terms of bumps on your inner thighs, if the hair is light there, you don’t have to shave, but maybe you could try with baby oil or use some antibiotic cream to mamke the bums go down. You can try neosproin cream or antibiotic cream from the dr. I get rash as well, and use this cream and it generally heals. You can also try waxing as it will make the skin around there harder once it has been waxed and allow you to shave there. Do not worry about the bumps, we all get them and use creams and other lotions to get rid of tehm and decrease them
I wish you luck and say go for it!

Hello Persis this is Sammie I was scard when I walked into the club for the first time don’t worry u will b fine, the club I started at back n 1990 I’m still there, I’m not dancing anymore but I love the money! U sound like I did years ago, the girls at any u go to may try to run u out, b strong and hold your ground! Just b nice to everyone and in a short time they will come around. There r two paths n this bizz just keep it clean remember you r there to make money not to trick or get into drugs, I’ve seen it all, lost friends that took the wrong path and know there gone. U sound beauitful go for it! I really hope I can help you, don’t worry about birth marks and scars everyone has them. I’m a bartender at the the club I started at but I still it, I could still dance if I wanted too. Good luck to you keep me posted on how it is going for you, Remember have class, that’s what men like.
Persis hey its Sammie sooo did you go try out? Can’t wait to hear about it, I wish you the best of luck keep me posted please,… tks
I’m 26 yrs old and been going to strip clubs once in a while since I was 18. As a customer, (but don’t speak for every other guy)How the girl looks is a must minor scars, birth marks don’t really matter. If I’m getting a lap dance scent is second (no one wants a sweaty smelly person)and third but also the most critical is the performance. If your forcing yourself (we will catch that)then you will notice most men will hold on to their money for a better dancer. Your attitude will decide what dollar bills will go in your g-string. If you think all men are pigs, then you will most likely get nothing. Well those are my two cents you girls have a happy new year!
Hey everyone
Persis, Sammie has given great advice.
You will be fine as birth marks and scars dont matter. Even Jay the customer said it…so you heard it from someone who actually would pay you. Thank you JAy
Sammie, thank you fr the great advice as it means a lot from a clean great ” example” of a classy girl working in our industry. That makes me proud
And JAy the faithful customer, thank you so much for your input. We always value what the customer wants and find your points useful, so pelase feel free to visit again
I am also dying to know what happened to Persis?
keep us posted

Hey, I have a quick question. How picky are strip clubs about what your boobs look like? I have real DD’s so they’re not quite as perky as I would like them to be. I’m wondering how much of an issue that would be. Thanks!
Hi girls! I just wanted to add that when you dance you can often get big tips by being extra friendly to the female clients, especially if they’re with a guy. Tell them how hot they are and that they could be a dancer too (if its reasonably true). I used to go to the clubs with my bf, now husband, and I would encourage him to tip more when I liked the girl. Also I was more likely to buy him a dance from the girls I liked. I especially like the girls that tell me they appreciate female clients better cause they aren’t pigs and always tip higher…etc. Flattery goes a long way with me and I tip 10s and 20 even to get her to talk to me more.
Anyway, since I saw nothing on female customers I thought I’d put in my opinion. Thanks girls!
Hey Mia, I am 19 years old, and I am working two jobs, that are just not cutting it at this point. I go to school and I have to pay for books and bills and my title IV loans. I am really flexible and toned. I danced for a couple years doing jazz and hip hop in high school. I am 5′8″, slim and toned i have size B boobs, which arent huge but they are perky. Curly curly auburn hair, hazel eyes and I am slightly tanned. I think I am pretty cute, very friendly and confident, and I need the money desperatly. My two questions are, I have two tattoos, on of a horse on my hip and a m16 weapon and my brothers dog tags on my side.I just want to make sure that i wont have to cover them. And my second question is, I live in northern california, in the SF bay area, and I have been looking online and everything seems really sketch from some of the costumer reviews, and if you knew of any other online sites that have better reviews or am I just not looking at the right clubs? if anybody knows anything, or has any feedback that would be awesome! thanks
Hi! I was wondering, I have no rhythm and can’t dance so what should I do ? Also, I’m on disability and I don’t want to lose my benefits plus, will the club I’m working for find out??? What should I tell my family?
Hi Lexxi
The clubs are not that fussy on breast, bt your s sound more then acceptable
Audition and see. They are more concerned about the how toned yourbody is
Good luck
Mia
Hi Dany345
your body and looks sounds great and your tattoos will be greatly admired if anything.
Also if youa re looking for great clubs, the customers point of view is not the greates. The point of views to look at are the girls whoa re working in the clubs
And these you can get from Jessica. She knows so many girls all over and they will tell you where the great clubs are where girls are making money in a clean way
I hope that helps
Mia xx
Hi Aleigha
Dont worry about rhythm, you will pick that up. You need to practice
In terms of your benefits. You need to try it and see if you can do it. If you think you can then you will have to come off your benefits, You will not want them anyway as the money you get is so much more
Your family is something you have to decide. You can decide to tell them or not depending on the realtionship you share with them
Good luck
Mia xx
I hope that hels
Hi thanks so much for answering questions! I have a few: 1.what are working hours? 2.I have a toned stomach but it bulges often because of boating. Is that a problem? 3. Can you be A stripper without going nude or topless? 4. Around how much do you make just starting, and after being around awhile approximately how much do you make? Thanks xoxo
is 26 to old to start dancing?? what is the average age of dancers?
Hi Cyncyn
working hours vary and can be all day if you are in a 24 hour club( yes they have them) or from 7/8 till 3/4/5 depending on which state or place you are in . Some clubs will open earlier and close later too. It varies
Also you can do different shifts which you can either choose or are given again depending on the club you work in
2) Alot of girls have a bloating stomach especially at certain times of the month. I would make sure when you audition you have as flat a stomach as you can. Also find out by experimenting with food why you have bloating. Could it be dairy or wheat? Those are usually the common reasons. Or is it that you are combining food incorrectly. Like protien and carbs? That causes bloating as does mixing fruit with other food. So try different things and get rid of the bloating purely for yourself as you want to be healthy right? Also you will feel less confident on the nights when you are bloated. I also had a friend who had bloating when she was stressed, so we used to keep her in non stressful situations in teh club LOL but at least she could control it that way.
3)I dont think you can be a stripper without going nude or topless, although there are clubs which are just topless where you can keep your thong on
4) in terms of earning, it varies. You can go home in debt or make thousands. And it doesn’t matter if youa re a beginner or experienced. Although when you are experienced you know how to makie money more often
Good Luck

Hi Maria

Hi I am thinking about dancing as a new career however I was wanting to feel completly comfortable on the pole, so I was looking into buying a portable one for my apt. Do you have any recommendations or warnings about the brand I should buy?
Hi Tigra
This is one I have in my apartment
http://tinyurl.com/yzfyuhr
It is great and really comfortable and easy to put up without damaging anything
I had a cheap one befoer that was really horrible to use, so get a good one to start with.
Good luck

Is it ever a good idea to just show up and ask for an audition or should you always call ahead?
Hi Cassandra,
It is a good idea to call as they sometimes have specific dates and times when they audition
Good luck

Hi, I just recently got hired as a dancer, but I am completely new to it. I am a young college student looking to make a little extra money. I have not actually started yet and there’s a lot of unanswered questions which is leading me to reconsider. First off, this isn’t something I want my parents finding out so what happens with taxes? Dancers don’t get pay checks so where is there money being taken from?
Also, do you have to order dancer heels or are there some places that sell them in stores?
I just wondering do you have information for men whom want to become strippers. They isn’t any real helpful sites, videos etc… . Will you in future start with similar information for men.
Hi Lauren,
thank you for your message.
With Taxes you will ave to get an accountant and he will teach you how to do it legally
Also your parents should not find out if you are not in an area where they will not see you. Your tax information is private and will not be seen by them.
You can order dancer shoes ( there is poster for discount stripper where they are cheaper) but you could also get them from a sex shop locally.
Good luck

Hi Ray,
I have a freind doing a site for Men right now..I will let you know when it is done
Thanks

Hi Mia! Recently I have been considering stripping for a second job, and I have a question for you. Do strippers have to have perfect breasts? One of my breasts is a bit smaller than the other, and they appear to be uneven (To me. I have been told different, but I think they were just trying to be nice).
I have another question as well. Do I have to pole dance as a stripper? I’m very nervous about that because I don’t know if I’m fit enough to do it. I will practice if I have to, but I would like to start A.S.A.P. Thanks!
Hi Sam,
No Strippers do not have perfect breasts. Most do not have anything near perfect. In the dark and when you are moving,no one is going to be ebale to study them that closely, so don’t worry about it. You will be surprised how good you look compared to other girls when you start working.
You do not have to know how to pole dance either. Most clubs will hire inexperienced girls to work and will know that they cannot pole dance. Watch some youtube video of basic poledanceing and you you can just copy some moves wihihc is basically turning your self around the pole and posing and dancing around it…any one can do that.
You will be fine, just go ahead and audition
Good Luck

hey my names kirstan and ive been looking into being a dancer and im okay with everything that goes along with it. like private dances and all but when it comes to getting on stage do i HAVE to? i just have a huge fear about getting on stage and having people watch me. one on one im fine but just the fact of being in front of a room full of people freaks me out. im sure once i get the hang of it i’ll be fine and do it on my own i just dont want to be for a lack of better words ‘forced’ to get on stage. and how much of a pay differance is between topless and full nude on an average?? thanks so much! love the site
Hi Kirstan,
In most clubs you will Have to get on stage and perform. This does become easier as you do it, but the first couple of times I just used to blank my mind and not look up. Once I realised i was ok and I didn’t die, I started enjoying it.
Hopefully you will be able to ask your club if they will let you not go on stage the first night you work so that you can watch the other girls and know that it is not really a big deal.
Then just make yourself go on stage, once you are there, you will just perform due to adrenaline kicking in.
Some clubs will also allow you to pay a fee for not going on stage. You can opt for this, but it can become expensive.
The pay difference depends on where your club is, what competition there is and the kind of customers it attracts. Whether it is topless or fully nude does not really make that much difference. Not that I know of anyway.
If someone else knows difference, please let use know here.
Thank you
Good Luck and come back soon

Hey Mia !
I have a few questions. Im actually a male and i just turned 18 and ive been looking into the whole dancer business. I love dancing, im confident and i feel like i can really do this. Problem is im more of a slim guy i guess you can say. I cheered for 3 years and have the V and Abs but im not super buff like the rest of the guys ive seen dancing. So im completly lost on where to start ):
Hey great page here… I’m planing on stripping my way through Europe for a while, and I’ve been reading up on the job (am enrolling in pole dancing as well), and I was just wondering how important is flexibility? I’d imagine it’s a big part, but I was just wondering how important it was?
Hey, I posted something, but I guess it didn’t go through… Anyway, I’m planning to strip my way through Europe this fall since it seems like a guaranteed and confidence-challenging way to make some $$ while being able to experience other places, which is all I want right now. So, aside from the mini rant, my point comes. I’ve been researching a lot on this and recently enrolled in pole dancing, but the big question is how much of a role does flexibility play? Because I see in youtube videos how flexible everyone is, and I’m not nearly that. Obviously, I’ll work on it, but I was just wondering how important it is?
Hi Sal,
Thank you for your email. For male strippers, I am not too sure. I hope other male strippers who come to this site can help you out?
Thank you for your email
Good luck
Mia xx
Hey Isabelle
thank you for your email
Thank you
I am happy for you…travelling around Europe seems so exciting!
If you want help with getting work, let me know.
Flexibilty is not important in most clubs at all
There are a very few elitist clubs who will expect you to dance very well, but over 95% accept beginners, so dont worry
You do not have to be flebible at all
I am sure you will be great
If you sign up to my 5 part course, you will see some dance videos which will help you
good luck

Just an itty-bitty question… What about hair? I read somewhere that you have to cut your hair above the shoulders? Is that true? I have really curly hair (I’m mixed) and I think it would look like clown hair if I cut it that short… Unless I wore a wig. Do girls ever wear wigs, and if so, do they fall off easily? Sorry, I guess it’s not an itty-bitty question afterall
Hey Andy
I have worked in over 20 different clubs and I have never heard or seen that
The girls in teh club usually have all different legnths of hair and some have really long beautiful hair
I don’t think the club has a right to get you to cut your hair. And if they do, go to another club
That is not reasonable
Soem girls do wear wigs and they fasten them to thier own hair so they are quite sturdy
I hope that helps

Hey Mia
First, I’d just like to say thank you for answering all these helpful questions! Now for a few of my own. 1) Would I have to have a fake name? And do I make one up myself or would the club give me one? 2) How are the shifts? Because I know you mentioned that there’s like a 3 song rule, so how long are you on stage at once… Like, are your appearances reoccurring throughout one shift or are you up there the whole time? And, 3) I have a birthmark on my butt that’s not very dark, but still stands out, I really hate it. Do you think it’s a problem?
Hi Emil
Thank you
1)You do not have to have a fake name, but it does help to keep yourself safe
You usually make one up and make sure it is not the same as another girls in teh club or it can get confusing
2)The shifts – You are usually on stage for between 5-10 mins at a time
It can range from once a night to once an hour depending on your club
3) the birthmark on your butt is fine and not a problem but if you hate it you can cover it with thick non transferable foundation or actors make up…kit will not even show
Have you thought of incorperatinng it into a cool tattoo? I have a friend who did that with an eagle and it looks great
Mia xx
Thanks Mia… That would be great, but I wont be going for another couple of months. And I think I read somewhere over here that you were in Europe as well? Are you from there, or you just lived there? And how long were you legally able to stay? The whole time limit is above my head at the moment… still figuring it out.
Hi I really want to become an exotic dancer. However I am 5′10″ and I feel like it will be impossible for me to find work because of my height. IS this a correct assumption? thank you for your time
Hie my name is elizabeth and i have question i always wanted to become a stripper since i was 16 but i have a little bit of tmmy is that problem…another question who is the maneger a guy or a girl…last question wat happens if i mess up in the audition or if i dont move rigth can someone please answer my question i would apriciated so much thanks
Hi Isabelle,
No sorry I am not from Europe unfortunatly, Frisco girl.
But i do have a contact who can help girls from Europe go to USA and the other way round too
So give me a shout when you are ready
Mia xx
Hi Natalia,
Your height will not effect you in most clubs, You will be the supermodel for the guys
I have girls who are very tall in my club ( lucky you) and they just wear slightly lower heels but you should go to the audition proud
Good luck
Mia xx
Hi Elizbeth
Thank you for your message
About your tummy, as long as it looks toned you should be fine, but if it looks flabby you may have to tone it by decreasing fatty food, doing cardio and doing ab/stomach exercised which work all muscles in yoru stomach. I have written some exercises in the looks and diet section
You will find that it tomes up quickly if you hit it from all angles
Manangers of clubs are male or female
If at the audition you do not move right, most clubs will forgive you as they are ok with beginners, Although I would practice if I were you. If you sign up for my 5 day course I have put soem dance videos you can copy and try that are easy.
I hope that helps

Hi elizabeth,
i am so sorry to hear you are in such trouble
Yes I am sure that if your stomach is flat when you are standing you will be fine
there are alot of jobs in a strip club, so go get one
Also do sit ups, look online how to do sit ups and do them lifting your legs and your shoulders…your stomach will get even more flatter
Good luck

Hello Mia!
Well, first and foremost, I have terrible stage fright and tend to feel awkward in most situations. However, I wanna try this out. I think it’s something I could be pretty good at if I try, plus I like to be challenged and just walk through situations which seem intimidating. So my question is: Were you ever shy in the beginning? How was your audition? And do you have any tips for not passing out on stage in the beginning? Haha. And should I take a lap dance class if i have never given one? I can’t imagine how to do one of those hahaha. Hope to hear from you, and thank you for answering all of our questions.
Hi Mallori,
I was really shy when i started. I never thought I could do anything like dancing in front of people. I never thought i would be able to take my clothes off in front of people either.
So you do get used to it
And in the beginning i used to not look at anybody, so i used to pretend it was just me in the room and no one else
lapdancing can be learnt on the job by watching other girls give one. That is how i learnt, although i am sure there are dvd’s out there that teach you. Check on youtube
Thanks for the questions
Good luck
remember it is only an issue at the beginning. Once you get used to it, it becomes really easy
Mia xx
Yeah I figured, it’s just nice to hear about it from someone else. Also… about hair (down there) is there supposed to be none? I have a little rectangle, but I don’t know what’s expected. I guess I could just go and observe…
Hi Mallori
Hair down there can range from what you have to none…it is ok….some girls have a brazilian, just make sure it is tidy
You will see all sortsGood luck
Mia xx
Great, thanx. And what kind of heels would you recommend walking in for someone who has difficulty with high heel? Thank you for all you help.
Hey Mia!
I have been thinking about stripping my way through college.I will be moving to nyc, dont know if you would know any great clubs to check out there? but I bet I could make good money. I will be having classes in the am so I def need something in the pm. I’m a certified dental assistant but I have been struggling to find something so I been workn pretty much any thing. Now I’m gonna try modelig and acting classes in the city but I need to survive there. Recently I have been researching alot on the internet to find out as much info and tips as possible and I came across your site:-) I dont know what to do or where to start honestly and since this is all new for me I’m alittle scared!! lol all I know so far is find a nice club, audition and then your on your own. I just wanted to know your first expirence, what to expect when dancing, from your body, customers, and the girl that work at the club. I heard there could be alot of drama behind the curtain. I’m a pretty down to earth girl with killer looks and a great personality I’m also very religious and Im caught between the whole is this right thing!? It’s just been extremly hard. I have worked two jobs just to make ends meet forever and I’m not gonna have time to find a job when I get there and focus on school at the same tim.I have to pay for loans and find a place to stay so it gonna take a while to get on my feet, the city could eat me alive and I wanted to be prepared how do you handle the stress and pressure? and will I be able to really do it just o get through school?
This site is a god send! I am a female in my early 20s, pretty face, plus-sized body but with curves in the right places. I go to a strip club twice a month with one of my guy friends. The girls there love us and I’ve actually become friendly with several of them. I want to get a divorce from my husband and I think stripping will help me make enough money to support myself. I really want to do it and the girls at the club encourage me to go for it! This site is helping me so much. Thank you for helping my dreams come true.
pretty neat page here. one of my friends used to strip for a couple months but stopped because her parents almost found out but she made mostly ok money but sometimes she would make a lot and i was thinking about trying to do that. only problem is i dont dance so well and i dont know if i have to make dance routines for everytime i work or if im just supposed to dance with the music while it plays and do i have to buy my own costumes or do they give you things to wear and make up? i just watched the movie “yellow” lol. i hope i get an answer.
Its great to see someone else out there doing the right thing to help girls succeed and stay safe in this industry.
Please keep up the great work
Hi Mallorie,
Heels for you if you are not great at walking in will have to be about 3inch ones as long as your club allows it. You can also get heels that are higher but have more of a platform heel so that your ffot is not at a great angle. I have seen plently of girls where this, as it gives them height without the angle
Good luck
Mia x
Hi Kim
OMG! sounds like you have a lot on your plate.
Ok to rely on tripping if you are moving to NYC can be tough, making money when you are under so much pressure can be really hard also.
I always reccomend Jessica’s book who will help you via email support to get you through the whole process.
Also my friend works at Scores in NYC and says that the money can be good, but you do need to know what you are doing.
Maybe you can do some dental assisting to keep you afloat and some stripping on the side if that is poosible?
The first day at your club will always be daunting as you will have to remove your clothes and sell your time and dances, this will take time getting used to , but it can be done to. I was also raised religiously, but have come to terms with what i do and do not feel i need to be punished for what i do , nor is it a sin in my opinion…it is something you will have to come to terms with.
I dont blame you for being a little scared, maybe you could gather ome money beofre you get to NYC so that you can feel a little more stable and secure as you can concentrate on making it without the pressure of being desperate?
The customers come in all characters and you will have to become like a chameleon to get on with them. The girls cancreate a lot of drama and will create a lot of drama, but you can choose to stay out of it, and minimise anything that does happen. It is your choice.
To handle the stress and pressure, you will have to be extrememly disciplined with your time, your drinking and your keeping fit so that you can keep going. Yes the city can eat you alive if you let things drop. On teh flip side you can kick butt if you do things right. So look after yourself and get a great teacher on making money and you should be fine
Good luck

Hi Suzie Q
Thanks for the email. Was the film good? I haven’t seen it yet!
Anyway the dance routines are not really routines for 99% of the girls and they just dance to the music, so you can do the same.
Also in terms of costumes, you will have to provide your own. But before you buy any, make sure you find out from the club you want to work at what they would like you to wear, then go to any website or store where they sell stripper clothes and buy 2 to start with and see what you think. The discount stripper shop which is above is great for clothes at great prices
Good luck
Mia xx
Thank you Marieanne
I appreciate the support
Mia xx
Doesn’t buying costumes cost a lot of money… lets say i was working 2 or 3 nights a week… you would never wear the same outfit twice right?
the movie was good i just dont know how accurate it was cuz i’ve never worked in one before. thanks for the reply!
Hi Suzie Q
Buying costumes does not have to be expensive, you can pick up a nice dress on ebay for about 20-30.
And to be honest you can wear the same thing every night some girls do, but it is best to have 2 so that if anything happens you can have a change of clothing
Also you can pick up cheap dresses in the clubs as girls are selling thier older ones and are bored or have bought a dress they don’t really like.
So even if you just buy one, you can pick up a whole set of cliothes very quickly
I hope that helps
and thank you for the film review, I will ee it and let you know how accurate it is

Mia,
I auditioned last night and the girls that work there were sooooo mean to me
I felt like I was being hazed. They actually said “we’re not going to be nice to you.”
I think I did okay on stage, but probably didn’t get the job (the manager has no called me yet). I really need the money badly to get out of a bad situation. However, if I do get the job, I dont think I can take the girls being mean to me. I’m a timid person who likes to kinda just do my own thing and stay out of others way. What should I do?
hello. I feel that I would enjoy dancing but I have several tattoos. Will this effect my potential earnings? most are cute and girly but one on my hip is a last name… wut do you think
thank you
Dolce
Hi Roxy
Ok the girls at this new club do sound mean but they are just intimidating you. They do not want new girls to start as it is more competition. They just have to live with it. When you start working if you show you are not worried about it, they will leave you alone and bully someone else. I would just start there if you get the job
Also You should audition at another club and phone the manager back to see if you got the job. They get busy and can forget
Good luck and just go for it. In this job you will make money, but you cannot be timid, you need to be ablt to stick up for yourself, which you can do
Good luck
Mia xx
Hi Dolce
Most girls who work in the club have tattoos. So I wouldn’t worry about it. If they do effect your earnings with potential customers, you can always try and hide them with your dress/costume. By the time you are naked, it will not matter
Be proud of them and that will make everyone else accept them. If you are confident about things, you will find that no one questions it.
Good luck

Hi, I am planning on moving to NY in several weeks with only a few hundred dollars so I am thinking about trying to become a stripper. I am 18 but I’m considered that I won’t get hired because one of my breast is a little bit larger than the other one. will that affect me chances of getting hired? Will it matter what my hair looks like in terms of color? because right now the dye is fading so my roots are showing so i was wondering if i should touch up the color before i audition? Do you just go around and start talking to men and ask them if they want a lap dance or do you wait for them to ask you for one?
Thanks
I have a slightly visible scar on my bottom will that affect my chances of becoming a stripper?
Hi Armani
The scar on your bottom willl not affect your chances at all
you can always put make up on it if it bothers you
Good luck
Mia xx
Hi NY_girl,
If you are moving to NY with just a couple of hundred dollars I would say DO NOT BECOME A STRIPPER. 2-3 bad nights in a strip club can and will make you broke as you have to pay to work there, buy some clothes etc
What you need to do is this in my opinion- get a job that will definately pay you, and save up and work in a strip club at weekends, until you can feel confident about making money. In a strip club there is no guarantee and at the beginning you may not make any money, So it is not worth taking a risk
About your breast size and differences, that is not an issue. ALla girls have different sizes and shapes and no one has perfactly the same breasts , so do not worry about that.
Your hair – I would definately touch up the roots, not just for the club, but for you as a dancer, you want to look great and be confident so that you are well groomed.
And you do go up to customers. It is rare that they come up to you. You are competing with 50+ girls and it can get competitive
Good luck, I hope you take my advice
Mia xx
This is a FANTASTIC site! Just fyi. A blessing for people like me wanting to now as much as possible before plunging into this biz. So thank you.
Quick question: how are hours set up at a strip club? I ask because I am a full time student who doesn’t have a car and is going to have to take public transit (and taxi at night, for safety from patrons).
Also, is it too gimmicky to have a pre-planned dance or themed costumes? I ask because I’m actually considering a fringe dress for a provocative shimmy number. Do you think this is too much for the payoff or is just a simple, basic strip-off more profitable?
THANK YOU (can’t mean that enough)!
Hi Michelle
Thank you. I really appreciate the compliments.
Hours in a strip club vary in different clubs.
You can probably get to the club in the evening with public transport but will need to definately get a taxi home for your safety
You will be asked to work certain hours in most clubs and they vary on what time you start, like an example would be 7pm till close which is 3-4am or later
The best thing to do is ring the club you want to work for and check what thier shift schedules for girls is like.
Also in terms of the costume, I would find out what kind of club it is and test it after you have worked there for a day or two. You never know you could become a hit or it could fall flat. It all depends on your club and how much finesse you pull it off with
Good luck and let us know how you go

Hi im currently studying at college and although im actually too young to work as a stripper/dancer (by about 18 months) but im looking at doing it in the future to help me financially during uni.
At the moment i do a pole dancing fitness class (although i started this before looking at being a stripper) but is there anything else i can do at the moment that might help me get a job when im old enough or even raise the money i could earn??
Btw i love your site, its answered all my questions – thank you so much
Kimberly xxx
Hi Kimberly
Thank you. I appreciate it that you love my site.
You are already doing great with the pole dancing. You could also read about how to sell.
As working in a strip club is all about sales. So if you learn about that you should be ready. In fact that is what Jessica Teaches, So if you do want to learn about Stripper sales, get her book.
Also make sure you stay and keep yourself toned.
Thats really all. I would get an ordinary job at the moment where you deal with a lot of people. This will teach you people skills and also
earn you some money
Good luck
