If you have never worked in a club before, there is a basic process on how to become a stripper, getting a job is more or less the same in all clubs around the world.

What is the first step on how to become a stripper?

The first place to start is by looking for suitable clubs in your area. Different clubs have different feels, you just have to find the one that feels the most comfortable to you. It may be a good idea to grab a male friend and take a look around a couple of clubs before applying. You can also search the club on the Internet and look for customer reviews, this can give you an idea of the type of place it is.

stripper-image-4

Clubs are always looking for strippers, so its always a good idea financially to know how to become a stripper. As i’ll explain later, girls generally get paid for what they earn, so really the club has nothing to lose. Strippers (also referred to as dancers) have many different looks, clubs try and fulfil customer demand by employing lots of different looking girls.

Second step on how to become a stripper

The next step in how to become a stripper is where a girl will call or visit a club she’s interested in and ask to speak to the manager, and ask if they are looking for dancers. She will then be invited to an audition at the club on a specific date.

This maybe a group audition i.e. with other girls or you may be on your own. These are all great tips on how to become a stripper learned from people actually doing the job, no theory here!

On the day of the audition, you will be asked to get changed and usually dance on stage to one or two songs. Don’t obsess too much on the dancing at this time, just watch the other girls and copy them or even better watch some videos on You Tube and practice in front of a mirror beforehand.

Most clubs work on a three song set. That is the first song you dance clothed, second song remove something, third song dance naked. Just get lost in the music as you would if you were a lone or with a lover. While doing your research on the club find out what kind of music they play (fast, upbeat, dance) and practice to that type of music. If you get a chance practice in front of friends that will help boost your confidence.

How to become a stripper – what to wear?

Also find out what type of outfits the girls wear is it a gown type dress or more lingerie, it all depends on the type of club so do your homework and take some appropriate clothing with you. Also, don’t forget to take id with you to the audition and maybe some music that you are familiar with, if you don’t have this you may not be able to audition.

Always keep a smile on your face and make eye contact with your audience.stripper image 5

You’ll need shoes, 3 inches minimum and don’t forget to wear the shoes in, before your audition. Your first time auditioning is always going to be nervous for anyone, in fact you may be scared stiff, do not get tempted with a little liquid courage i.e. do not consume alcohol it will only make you feel less co-ordinated and you will start a bad habit. Just remember we all started somewhere and in time it will become second nature just like any other job.

At the end of the audition the manager or house mom (usually in charge of looking after the girls) will let you know if you got the job or not. If you don’t get the job ask for some feedback and ask when you can re-try. Don’t take rejection personally, after all they don’t know you do they?

Just work on the points they tell you or try another club. This is usually the same process on how to become a stripper and get started in all places around the world.

So there you have it, some simple steps on how to be a stripper, next step is to take action and start making some money.

Thanks for this valuable info. I’m a mother of 3 month old baby. I am also a college student with dat loans. Sort of into debt w/ a credit card. I been told I have an exotic look since im birarcial. And im 5′3 with just a little pudge I planning to tone and flatten that pudge appreciate the diet tips. Also I been watching youtube videos like crazy. I plan to strip as a mends to end. I want to pay off my loans and pay off my credit card debt. As well as get a home for me and my daughter and a car. But I have a quick question. You see I have a few stretch marks on my butt as well as stomach. They are very light and thin. But you can still see them. Do you think they would not hire me for that? And do you think I can be able to cover it up w/makeup?

  4. Mia Robbins on May 18th, 2009 3:19 pm

    Hi Saucii
Thank you for the appreciation. It is definatly a means to an end and it will give you a better life. There are many mothers working in my club, even one with 3 children and she does great
I am glad you are working out…it is quite important to be toned
As for the stretch marks do not even worry about that…it is very dark in most clubs and men do not even care. I have stretch marks everywhere as i have lost and gained weight several times. You can over with make up but you probably will find you do not need to
I really wish you good luck

I am a very beautiful chocolate toned woman who is considering dancing ive always loved to dance and im very very good at it. Problem is when i have checked out certain clubs in my area managers have told me they only want dancers w/ “expierence” how common is that? Also do you find that discrimination goes on in the strip club industry?

  6. Mia on June 1st, 2009 10:53 am

    Hi Nubian,

I am glad you are toned and are a great dancer…you will find that aspect really easy. There are certain clubs that do want dancers with experience…..it is usually because new dancers cause a lot of rrouble in clubs because they do not know the rules and can lose the clubs licence. If that is the case then it would be worth trying a not so great club( although make sure it is safe) or travel to one for a while that will hire you and gain the experience you need…before reapplying to the other club again. I have not really heard of discrimination in the club since i have many chocolate toned girls in my club and they always have the best bodies! So go in with a positive attitude and do not let that distract you from doing your best…if they miss out on you …it is thier loss and there are more clubs

    I wish you good luck

hi…ive recently been lookin into beconing a dancer and i need some advice. im about 5′6 light skinned beautiful girl. my mother is white and dad is rican. i am alwayz told i have a nice body but ma stomach jiggles a bit. its fairly flat but it not tight…should i work on that?? also i wear glasses and i have yet to see a dancer with glasses do you suggest contacts?? any advice yu have ill apprentice it.

  8. Mia on July 9th, 2009 11:09 am

    Hi Riican Mamii,

Sorry for the delay in writing , i have been on vacation.

You sound gorgeous…I would definatly work on the stomach, although a lot of girls do not have the perfect stomach…I know i havent!

But i would work on it, try going to an audition to see if it is acceptable…also you will want to work on it for yourself, the more confident you are, the better you will perfiorm.

In terms of contacts, its all about your own confidence…i have seen very few girls wearing glasses…it depends, do you look better with them on or off?

I really wish you luck…let me know how it goes

    Hi there,
I want to start dancing to help support myself so I can move out and afford health care. I went to a club and they said I had to pay them $100 to dance, is that common? Secondly I have been a dancer [jazz ballet falmenco] for about 10 years and I taught hiop hop, will I pick up this dance style quickly? And when and where do you work on pole dances?
    Thanks much! :)

  10. sierra on August 12th, 2009 11:49 pm

Hi! Thank you for all the useful information. I am a student looking to make some money and pay off my loans. I have worked in bars since I was legally able to and I feel like I have the body, looks, and personality to be a dancer. Beyond my concerns about auditioning, I am concerned about what being a stripper could do for my future. I am planning on a career in journalism some day, but I don’t know how the paperwork works for being a dancer. If I dance, will there be a record of me being a stripper? Do strippers pay taxes? Can I use a fake name? Please don’t get me wrong, I would be proud to make money as a dancer. But, I just want understand how it all works. Thank you.

  11. Asada on August 15th, 2009 7:22 pm

    HI!!!

I was thinking about dancing as a part time weekend only gig.

    Do dancers ever wear masks?

Is it a good idea to work with a friend and split earnings, or is this a solitary profession?

I am curious and practicing moves, but I am terrified of dancing somewhere that someone would recognize me( or worse yet, know my relatives). Does this mean that dancing is a bad Idea for me?

If I dance, I would like to know that my money and my identity can’t be tracked. HOw does a stripper income work with taxes?

I guess what it boils down to is that I would like to do it, earn an income, but keep EVERYTHING discreet. Can this possibly work?

    Thanks so much!!!

  12. Mia on August 17th, 2009 8:24 pm

    Hi G,

Thank you for your email. Mostly all clubs charge girls to dance there. This is common. Usually the more potential to make money the more they charge. $100 is quite a lot so it probably is a club worth checking out,but make sure you learn what you are doing.$100 to lose every night soon adds up. If you are going to start, read Jessica Simmonds book 7 Step Strip Success to learn how you can cover the house fee and more. Thats how I learnt.
In terms of dancing, Your dance background will really help. You will pick up the dancing very easy, watch some Utube videos, and you can go to pole dancing classes. They hold them everywhere. Look it up online for your area

    Good Luck
    Mia

  13. Mia on August 17th, 2009 8:27 pm

    Hi Sierra,

As a stripper you will have to pay taxes so you will have to get an accountant. In terms of your future, your records will probably say you were an entertainer/dancer or something of that sort. There shouldnt really be a way for anyone to find out really what work you were doing, unless they were really investigating

I hope that helps and good luck
    Mia

  14. Mia on August 17th, 2009 8:32 pm

    Hi Asada,

I have never seen dancers wearing masks. It can be a great idea to work slightly further away from where you live if your concerned about being recognised. This is so that you do not get seen by someone you know. Also that it is really only your opinion that should count, but I know it does matter to you. In terms of taxes, Someone who wants to really investigate will be able to find out that you were a dance, but if they are generally looking, then they will just see that you were an entertainer/dancer.

You can work with a friend, but I wouldnt say its a good idea to split earnings. It is better to work on your own and have a friend where you both help each other out when and as you can

    I hope that was helpful
    Good luck
    Mia

  15. jessica on August 18th, 2009 4:16 am

hi mija my name is jessica. i always dreamed of
becoming a stripper at least for part time because
i work full time and i also love my job, but i al
ways wonder if you guys focus on the image of the
body, i know i can lose weight fast and i look nice but of course i dont have big boobs or a flat
stomach, and i also have two kids and maybe i am
old to strip, i am 31 years old, so what do you
    think?

  16. Little Miss Curious;) on August 18th, 2009 10:06 pm

Hey, this is great info. Very helpful;) I can’t wait to try it out;)

  17. Mia Robbins on September 3rd, 2009 10:03 am

    Hi Jessica,

You are not too old to strip…In one of the clubs I work in their is a 40 year old…it just depends on how old you look. Having children is fin too, I have a girlfriend who has 3 children too.

Having the small boobs are not a problem, although you will need to tone your stomach.
You will need to be toned for most clubs.

The best guidance is to maybe go for an audition and see what they say, they may tell you that you need to just tone your stomach or lose weight

    I hope that helps
    Mia
And thank you little miss curious

  18. Dee on September 17th, 2009 7:41 pm

Hi, my name is Dee and I am 21 yrs old. My back is up against the wall right now, financially, and I’ve always thought about stripping as a means of making money until I am stable. Guys tell me all the time that I have the body for it when I joke about it. I wanted to know: 1) how do you audition/get hired, 2)where do you keep your money/tips until you leave, and 3)since you probably have a lot of 1s, 5s, 10s, and 20s, do you deposit money into a bank account to trade them for bigger bills? Thanks!

  19. Mia on September 18th, 2009 1:59 pm

    Hi Dee,

I am so sorry that you are in this financial trouble.

1)To get hired, and audition,I would find a club you like and phone them. Ask them what the process is, they should tell you. Also ask them what you should wear. And finally practice some pole dancing “moves” by watching pole dancing basic video on you tube.
    2) Your money you should keep on you at all times, either in a purse or around a garter belt.
it depends on what the club allows
3)Your money, you can deposit how you like it. the bank will take it in any form.
    Good luck

    Hey Mia,
I am 17 and I would like to get a job as a dancer when i turn 18. Im pretty nervous about auditioning but most of all im worried about learning to pole dance.
I guess my queston would be, if Im hired would they teach me to pole dance? Or do you think I should take a class before I audition?

If you have any tips for an aspireing dancer that would help so much.
    Thanks,
    Tay<3

  21. Mia on October 8th, 2009 9:40 pm

    Hi Tay

Most girls are nervous about pole dancing. If you would like to feel confident, you can go to a few local classes, which will give you a boost

If you do not go to a class before, you will learn as you work there, because you will pick it up as you watch and practice, but if you want to really be prepared, I would go to a class

Make sure you have your body toned and come back to read more on this blog as it will help you

Feel free to ask any more questions

    Good Luck Tay

    hi!
im 16 and my family is really havin financial troubles. i would like to work in a strip club because i love dancing and seems fun and i can get money. will they hire me if i tell them my situation???
    thx!

  24. Lauren on October 29th, 2009 11:15 pm

I’ve really been researching everything I can about being a stripper online, and I’m about to go for it. What I didn’t realize was all the paperwork and money involved in even getting a job! I live in California and I need to get an Adult Entertainer Permit, and a Business license, which will end up costing me about 200 dollars. It seems like a lot of women who are financially in a hole get into stripping and I don’t see how anyone has this kind of money when they need it so badly. Nothing online really tells much about it and a lot of stuff on the forms I need to fill out is confusing. I don’t really have anyone I can talk to about this and I just want to talk to someone who’s gone through it already. For a business permit would you put your name for business name? Or the place you’re going to apply to?

  25. Just curious on November 4th, 2009 6:37 am

I would like to teach pole dancing…do you know how to get started…? Or where to buy the poles & costumes, etc…?

  26. mia on November 10th, 2009 2:35 pm

Hi Missy, I am sorry for the delay in answering, I have been on holiday and have just got back in the swing of things. To be honest, I am so sorry to hear about your situation. But I know most clubs will not hire you if they are run properly. I know in RI they allow 16 year old girls to dance legally, I dont really know where you live.

Also as you are only 16, I would get a normal job until you are 18 as there is a lot of situations which you face in a strip club, which you will need some maturity and experience for. I am sure you are mature, But I would really not advise a 16 year old to do this job. Get a regular job and help your family

    Good luck

    Hi Lauren,

Again I am so soory for the delay in replying, I have been on holiday. Ok
so for your form. I would suggest the best people who can help you with your forms and legal issues is http://www.exoticdancerrights.com also I know Jessica offers a service which will help you fill out the form when you get her book 7 Step Strip Success. Also she puts you in contact with girls in your area that have been through it and will help you

I know it is a lot of money to start , but once you do, you will not look back if you start properly

    Good Luck

  28. NiNi on November 21st, 2009 1:23 am

Hi i have a couple questions about dancing.
I have had three children two by ceserean my stomach is pretty flat but i have light colored stretch marks but alot and my belly button area got messed up because of a hernia from the pregnancy. Being that its about looks would that matter some what of a great deal if i decided to audition? ALso i have worked out continuously to tone by butt, but i just cant seem to get it toned its perky and big but just moves all around. Is that a plus or minus when going to audition? I am not a very big girl so it stand out. And my last question is the breast. Do your breast have to be a certain size/look? (cup, nipple, etc.)

  29. mia on November 25th, 2009 1:53 pm

    Hi Nini
The strecth marks are not really a poblem as most girls have them and in the dark that will not really be obvious. The belly button area is dependant on how you feel and if the club doesn’t mind as you will be getting naked in from of these men and have to explain everytime
Your butt is another thing I wouldn’t worry about as long as you don’t look really big you should be fine. You need to go to an audition to get feedback, then you will know, without a photo, I really cannot comment as what is big to one person may be fine to another. Your breast can be any size, shape etc I have seen it all, so definatly do not worry about that

    Good luck

Hi, my name is kaylee and I have been dancing for 5 years. I just crossed over your blog and wanted to say that I agree with all of your information on your page and that you have great advice for these ladies. If you’re ever in Vegas, stop by The Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club and say hi!Thanks!Kaylee

  31. redapples:) on December 7th, 2009 4:09 am

Hi Mia-Love your name! Listen, this is a risky question for me..but I seriously would love the advice. I am a teacher who is a single mom. I work really hard but barely make enough to get by. I went to school a long time but am not compensated enough. I have no savings :( . I have thought about stripping as I am a great dancer. I am good at bellydancing/latin..and all sorts. I have a fun, bubbly attitude and I know that I would probably fit in well into this industry. I dont have the biggest breast (a cup) from having a child..they arent perky anymore either…but everything else is in great shape..no flab or anything. Here is a few questions: If I teach now, could the district find out if I did this on the side at a far away location somehow? Is there any way around the paperwork so as to avoid the possibility of getting caught? Is stripping safe and do you have to give lap dances? Or could I just entertain and perform? On average, how much do strippers make a month/year? Thanks so much for your help!

  32. Ginger on December 11th, 2009 10:11 pm

    Hey Mia,
I’m have a medium caramel, soft brown, complexion and I have a flat stomach, D cup boobs, and a pretty face. I’m mixed (Native American, African American and French).
The thing is, I have a quarter sized dark birthmark on my right side and I have a dime sized light birthmark on my left lower back, will this be a problem? It’s not extremely noticeable but is still there and decently noticeable.
Also, My legs and butt are a little thick, (Not extremely fat or anything, just thick) My pants size are like a 9. My hips are about 39″ when my waist is like 29″… Are my legs and butt a problem too? Or will my upper torso and small waist take away from that?
Men haven’t complained, since I have a coke bottle shape figure, but I’m not sure what a strip club will think…

  33. Elaina D on December 17th, 2009 1:08 am

    Hello :)

This info is great! I’m 22 & I’m a Native American with large blue eyes… I was a dancer & gymnast as from age 4 until I graduated from high school. I’m in great shape but I feel my legs may be too big & muscular. Is this unattractive? Also, is saftey a major concern? I know you have to be smart, but how are you able to determine if you will be able to work safely?

    Thank you :)

  35. mia on December 17th, 2009 3:33 pm

Hi redapples, Sorry for the delay in writing and thank you for the compliment!

Ok, you sound like you would fit into this industry.

I am sure your breasts are fine, being an A cup is fine as there are a lot of girls with many different size and shape breasts.
It is great you have all this experience in dancing!

I am not sure about the district finding out and what concern that would cause them. I am almost sure that if you do it far away enough you will be ok. Although it would be great if you could anonomously find out what would happen if you did get found out.If you want to just try it, find a clubb that is furthest from your home and district and see how you do. If you do it for a while you can at least see the potential. Hey you may find that you earn more then enough to quit your day job and just become a dancer. You will have to try it for a while and see if you like it or not.
In terms of pay you can earn anything from – (yes minus) to thousands a night. Depending on where you work and how good you are. Jessica teaches how to make money, so I would go to her for that.
Stripping is safe if you treat it with the respect it deserves, and keep your wits about you. In most clubs you have to give lap dances, although there are some clubs where you get get tipped to perform. There are alos clubs where the lap dance is anything from an air dance ( where there is no touching) to full on grinding. I prefer the air dances and find that you can earn great money in clubs like this if they are near where you can get to.

  36. mia on December 17th, 2009 3:36 pm

    Hey Ginger, you sound great!
I am sureyou will be fine. As long as you are toned, most clubs will be really happy with your shape and size. I think the best thing is to go and audition and see the feedback you get. Although you do sound great
    Best of luck
    Mia xx

  37. mia on December 17th, 2009 3:39 pm

    Hi Elaina D
    Thank you for the compliment

I am sure you legs are great and sexy as muscular can look really defined.

In terms of safety, read my safety page and follow the rules. ALso on your first couple of nights make sure someone you trust picks you up so and are at hand if you need to call them and get them to come and get you. Also I would work in big clubs that seem well run. You can check them out when you go and visit them before auditioning on a night out with friends/boyfriend. Most clubs are safe, but I would always check them out

question… i want to start stripping because i cant seem to get a job and if i dont come up with $$ in 2 weeks my fiance that is coming 3000miles away to be with me will be on the streets and so will i…
ne ways, i just wanted to ask, what if i cant dance as good…. i have bad stage fright…. there’s a club that said they’d take me but im so nervous…
and in my state i guess we have to pay 100dollars for a contractors card… which means we can work at that club legally… or something on that bases.. they let you work there 3days and you can pay them that way or up front or win at amateur night….
ne way is there ne other advice you could give me???
and i have sensitive inner thighs so when i shave it gets irritated and i get alot of bumps…. do you think thats going to be a problem?? im just kinda embarrassed of my own body… im 5′5 dark hair blue eyes 115lbs…. 34C chest… and some times i get little bumps on the thigh/bum Reagen… from my pants….

just want some advice before i go in there looking like a chicken with its head cut off if u kno what i mean….. well thanx!

    -Ridd.

  39. mia on December 18th, 2009 2:47 pm

    Hi Ridd,
i am sorry to hear about your situation

Dont worry about dancing great, most girls cannot dance, just practice in front of the mirror. Also you will pick it up as you dance more at the club, just by watching the other girls. About stage fright, everyone gets that in the beginning, just to different degrees. You need to make yourself just do it by pretnding you are there alone and do it. Once you have done it once you will realise that it really is no big deal. Go to a few auditions at other clubs to practice.

You can try and win amatuer night if you want., but all girls have to get the contracters card. Your club is nice to let you work it off slowly. I suggest you take their offer.

You are so lucky to be the weight and height you are. Most girls would love to be like you. In terms of bumps on your inner thighs, if the hair is light there, you don’t have to shave, but maybe you could try with baby oil or use some antibiotic cream to mamke the bums go down. You can try neosproin cream or antibiotic cream from the dr. I get rash as well, and use this cream and it generally heals. You can also try waxing as it will make the skin around there harder once it has been waxed and allow you to shave there. Do not worry about the bumps, we all get them and use creams and other lotions to get rid of tehm and decrease them

I wish you luck and say go for it!
    Mia

U sound like I did years ago, the girls at any u go to may try to run u out, b strong and hold your ground! Just b nice to everyone and in a short time they will come around. There r two paths n this bizz just keep it clean remember you r there to make money not to trick or get into drugs, I’ve seen it all, lost friends that took the wrong path and know there gone. U sound beauitful go for it! I really hope I can help you, don’t worry about birth marks and scars everyone has them. I’m a bartender at the the club I started at but I still it, I could still dance if I wanted too. 44. Jay the failthful customer on January 2nd, 2010 9:18 pm

I’m 26 yrs old and been going to strip clubs once in a while since I was 18. As a customer, (but don’t speak for every other guy)How the girl looks is a must minor scars, birth marks don’t really matter. If I’m getting a lap dance scent is second (no one wants a sweaty smelly person)and third but also the most critical is the performance. If your forcing yourself (we will catch that)then you will notice most men will hold on to their money for a better dancer. Your attitude will decide what dollar bills will go in your g-string. If you think all men are pigs, then you will most likely get nothing. Well those are my two cents you girls have a happy new year!

  45. mia on January 6th, 2010 3:59 pm

    Hey everyone

Persis, Sammie has given great advice.
You will be fine as birth marks and scars dont matter. Even Jay the customer said it…so you heard it from someone who actually would pay you. Thank you JAy

Sammie, thank you fr the great advice as it means a lot from a clean great ” example” of a classy girl working in our industry. That makes me proud

And JAy the faithful customer, thank you so much for your input. We always value what the customer wants and find your points useful, so pelase feel free to visit again

I am also dying to know what happened to Persis?

    keep us posted

Hey, I have a quick question. How picky are strip clubs about what your boobs look like? I have real DD’s so they’re not quite as perky as I would like them to be. I’m wondering how much of an issue that would be. Thanks!

  47. Sammie27 on February 1st, 2010 4:43 pm

Hi girls! I just wanted to add that when you dance you can often get big tips by being extra friendly to the female clients, especially if they’re with a guy. Tell them how hot they are and that they could be a dancer too (if its reasonably true). I used to go to the clubs with my bf, now husband, and I would encourage him to tip more when I liked the girl. Also I was more likely to buy him a dance from the girls I liked. I especially like the girls that tell me they appreciate female clients better cause they aren’t pigs and always tip higher…etc. Flattery goes a long way with me and I tip 10s and 20 even to get her to talk to me more.
Anyway, since I saw nothing on female customers I thought I’d put in my opinion. Thanks girls!

Hey Mia, I am 19 years old, and I am working two jobs, that are just not cutting it at this point. I go to school and I have to pay for books and bills and my title IV loans. I am really flexible and toned. I danced for a couple years doing jazz and hip hop in high school. I am 5′8″, slim and toned i have size B boobs, which arent huge but they are perky. Curly curly auburn hair, hazel eyes and I am slightly tanned. I think I am pretty cute, very friendly and confident, and I need the money desperatly. My two questions are, I have two tattoos, on of a horse on my hip and a m16 weapon and my brothers dog tags on my side.I just want to make sure that i wont have to cover them. And my second question is, I live in northern california, in the SF bay area, and I have been looking online and everything seems really sketch from some of the costumer reviews, and if you knew of any other online sites that have better reviews or am I just not looking at the right clubs? if anybody knows anything, or has any feedback that would be awesome! thanks :)

Hi! I was wondering, I have no rhythm and can’t dance so what should I do ? Also, I’m on disability and I don’t want to lose my benefits plus, will the club I’m working for find out??? What should I tell my family?

  50. mia on February 16th, 2010 1:56 pm

    Hi Lexxi

The clubs are not that fussy on breast, bt your s sound more then acceptable
Audition and see. They are more concerned about the how toned yourbody is

    Good luck
    Mia

  51. mia on February 16th, 2010 2:02 pm

    Hi Dany345

your body and looks sounds great and your tattoos will be greatly admired if anything.

Also if youa re looking for great clubs, the customers point of view is not the greates. The point of views to look at are the girls whoa re working in the clubs

And these you can get from Jessica. She knows so many girls all over and they will tell you where the great clubs are where girls are making money in a clean way

    I hope that helps
    Mia xx

  52. mia on February 16th, 2010 2:05 pm

    Hi Aleigha

Dont worry about rhythm, you will pick that up. You need to practice

In terms of your benefits. You need to try it and see if you can do it. If you think you can then you will have to come off your benefits, You will not want them anyway as the money you get is so much more

Your family is something you have to decide. You can decide to tell them or not depending on the realtionship you share with them

    Good luck
    Mia xx

    I hope that hels

  53. Cyncyn on February 27th, 2010 5:41 am

Hi thanks so much for answering questions! I have a few: 1.what are working hours? 2.I have a toned stomach but it bulges often because of boating. Is that a problem? 3. Can you be A stripper without going nude or topless? 4. Around how much do you make just starting, and after being around awhile approximately how much do you make? Thanks xoxo

  54. maria on February 27th, 2010 8:48 am

is 26 to old to start dancing?? what is the average age of dancers?

  55. mia on March 1st, 2010 4:53 pm

    Hi Cyncyn

working hours vary and can be all day if you are in a 24 hour club( yes they have them) or from 7/8 till 3/4/5 depending on which state or place you are in . Some clubs will open earlier and close later too. It varies

Also you can do different shifts which you can either choose or are given again depending on the club you work in

    2) Alot of girls have a bloating stomach especially at certain times of the month. I would make sure when you audition you have as flat a stomach as you can. Also find out by experimenting with food why you have bloating. Could it be dairy or wheat? Those are usually the common reasons. Or is it that you are combining food incorrectly. Like protien and carbs? That causes bloating as does mixing fruit with other food. So try different things and get rid of the bloating purely for yourself as you want to be healthy right? Also you will feel less confident on the nights when you are bloated. I also had a friend who had bloating when she was stressed, so we used to keep her in non stressful situations in teh club LOL but at least she could control it that way.

3)I dont think you can be a stripper without going nude or topless, although there are clubs which are just topless where you can keep your thong on

    4) in terms of earning, it varies. You can go home in debt or make thousands. And it doesn’t matter if youa re a beginner or experienced. Although when you are experienced you know how to makie money more often

    Good Luck
    Mia xx

  56. mia on March 1st, 2010 4:54 pm

Hi I am thinking about dancing as a new career however I was wanting to feel completly comfortable on the pole, so I was looking into buying a portable one for my apt. Do you have any recommendations or warnings about the brand I should buy?

  58. mia on March 12th, 2010 11:11 am

    Hi Tigra

This is one I have in my apartment

    http://tinyurl.com/yzfyuhr

It is great and really comfortable and easy to put up without damaging anything

I had a cheap one befoer that was really horrible to use, so get a good one to start with.

Is it ever a good idea to just show up and ask for an audition or should you always call ahead?

  60. mia robbins on April 7th, 2010 1:09 pm

    Hi Cassandra,

It is a good idea to call as they sometimes have specific dates and times when they audition

    Good luck

  61. Lauren on April 28th, 2010 4:43 pm

Hi, I just recently got hired as a dancer, but I am completely new to it. I am a young college student looking to make a little extra money. I have not actually started yet and there’s a lot of unanswered questions which is leading me to reconsider. First off, this isn’t something I want my parents finding out so what happens with taxes? Dancers don’t get pay checks so where is there money being taken from?
Also, do you have to order dancer heels or are there some places that sell them in stores?

  62. ray on May 3rd, 2010 6:03 am

I just wondering do you have information for men whom want to become strippers. They isn’t any real helpful sites, videos etc… . Will you in future start with similar information for men.

  63. mia on May 6th, 2010 9:12 am

    Hi Lauren,

    thank you for your message.

With Taxes you will ave to get an accountant and he will teach you how to do it legally

Also your parents should not find out if you are not in an area where they will not see you. Your tax information is private and will not be seen by them.

You can order dancer shoes ( there is poster for discount stripper where they are cheaper) but you could also get them from a sex shop locally.

    Good luck

  65. Sam on May 9th, 2010 11:19 am

Hi Mia! Recently I have been considering stripping for a second job, and I have a question for you. Do strippers have to have perfect breasts? One of my breasts is a bit smaller than the other, and they appear to be uneven (To me. I have been told different, but I think they were just trying to be nice).

I have another question as well. Do I have to pole dance as a stripper? I’m very nervous about that because I don’t know if I’m fit enough to do it. I will practice if I have to, but I would like to start A.S.A.P. Thanks!

  66. mia on May 10th, 2010 10:25 am

    Hi Sam,

No Strippers do not have perfect breasts. Most do not have anything near perfect. In the dark and when you are moving,no one is going to be ebale to study them that closely, so don’t worry about it. You will be surprised how good you look compared to other girls when you start working.

You do not have to know how to pole dance either. Most clubs will hire inexperienced girls to work and will know that they cannot pole dance. Watch some youtube video of basic poledanceing and you you can just copy some moves wihihc is basically turning your self around the pole and posing and dancing around it…any one can do that.

You will be fine, just go ahead and audition

    Good Luck

  67. kirstan on May 11th, 2010 8:16 am

hey my names kirstan and ive been looking into being a dancer and im okay with everything that goes along with it. like private dances and all but when it comes to getting on stage do i HAVE to? i just have a huge fear about getting on stage and having people watch me. one on one im fine but just the fact of being in front of a room full of people freaks me out. im sure once i get the hang of it i’ll be fine and do it on my own i just dont want to be for a lack of better words ‘forced’ to get on stage. and how much of a pay differance is between topless and full nude on an average?? thanks so much! love the site

  68. mia on May 12th, 2010 10:35 am

    Hi Kirstan,

In most clubs you will Have to get on stage and perform. This does become easier as you do it, but the first couple of times I just used to blank my mind and not look up. Once I realised i was ok and I didn’t die, I started enjoying it.

Hopefully you will be able to ask your club if they will let you not go on stage the first night you work so that you can watch the other girls and know that it is not really a big deal.

Then just make yourself go on stage, once you are there, you will just perform due to adrenaline kicking in.

Some clubs will also allow you to pay a fee for not going on stage. You can opt for this, but it can become expensive.

The pay difference depends on where your club is, what competition there is and the kind of customers it attracts. Whether it is topless or fully nude does not really make that much difference. Not that I know of anyway.

If someone else knows difference, please let use know here.

    Thank you

Good Luck and come back soon
    Mia xx

    Hey Mia !

I have a few questions. Im actually a male and i just turned 18 and ive been looking into the whole dancer business. I love dancing, im confident and i feel like i can really do this. Problem is im more of a slim guy i guess you can say. I cheered for 3 years and have the V and Abs but im not super buff like the rest of the guys ive seen dancing. So im completly lost on where to start ):

Hey great page here… I’m planing on stripping my way through Europe for a while, and I’ve been reading up on the job (am enrolling in pole dancing as well), and I was just wondering how important is flexibility? I’d imagine it’s a big part, but I was just wondering how important it was?

  71. Isabelle on June 8th, 2010 6:02 pm

Hey, I posted something, but I guess it didn’t go through… Anyway, I’m planning to strip my way through Europe this fall since it seems like a guaranteed and confidence-challenging way to make some $$ while being able to experience other places, which is all I want right now. So, aside from the mini rant, my point comes. I’ve been researching a lot on this and recently enrolled in pole dancing, but the big question is how much of a role does flexibility play? Because I see in youtube videos how flexible everyone is, and I’m not nearly that. Obviously, I’ll work on it, but I was just wondering how important it is?

  72. mia on June 8th, 2010 6:18 pm

    Hi Sal,

Thank you for your email. For male strippers, I am not too sure. I hope other male strippers who come to this site can help you out?

    Thank you for your email
    Good luck

    Hey Isabelle

    thank you for your email

    Thank you

I am happy for you…travelling around Europe seems so exciting!

If you want help with getting work, let me know.

Flexibilty is not important in most clubs at all

There are a very few elitist clubs who will expect you to dance very well, but over 95% accept beginners, so dont worry

You do not have to be flebible at all

I am sure you will be great

If you sign up to my 5 part course, you will see some dance videos which will help you

    good luck

Just an itty-bitty question… What about hair? I read somewhere that you have to cut your hair above the shoulders? Is that true? I have really curly hair (I’m mixed) and I think it would look like clown hair if I cut it that short… Unless I wore a wig. Do girls ever wear wigs, and if so, do they fall off easily? Sorry, I guess it’s not an itty-bitty question afterall :)

  75. mia on June 8th, 2010 8:12 pm

    Hey Andy

I have worked in over 20 different clubs and I have never heard or seen that

The girls in teh club usually have all different legnths of hair and some have really long beautiful hair

I don’t think the club has a right to get you to cut your hair. And if they do, go to another club
    That is not reasonable

Soem girls do wear wigs and they fasten them to thier own hair so they are quite sturdy

    I hope that helps

  77. Emil on June 9th, 2010 6:06 am

Hey Mia :) First, I’d just like to say thank you for answering all these helpful questions! Now for a few of my own. 1) Would I have to have a fake name? And do I make one up myself or would the club give me one? 2) How are the shifts? Because I know you mentioned that there’s like a 3 song rule, so how long are you on stage at once… Like, are your appearances reoccurring throughout one shift or are you up there the whole time? And, 3) I have a birthmark on my butt that’s not very dark, but still stands out, I really hate it. Do you think it’s a problem?

  78. mia on June 9th, 2010 1:02 pm

    Hi Emil

    Thank you

1)You do not have to have a fake name, but it does help to keep yourself safe

You usually make one up and make sure it is not the same as another girls in teh club or it can get confusing

2)The shifts – You are usually on stage for between 5-10 mins at a time

It can range from once a night to once an hour depending on your club

    3) the birthmark on your butt is fine and not a problem but if you hate it you can cover it with thick non transferable foundation or actors make up…kit will not even show

Have you thought of incorperatinng it into a cool tattoo? I have a friend who did that with an eagle and it looks great

    Mia xx

  79. Isabelle on June 9th, 2010 3:02 pm

Thanks Mia… That would be great, but I wont be going for another couple of months. And I think I read somewhere over here that you were in Europe as well? Are you from there, or you just lived there? And how long were you legally able to stay? The whole time limit is above my head at the moment… still figuring it out.

  83. mia on June 16th, 2010 8:20 pm

    Hi Natalia,

Your height will not effect you in most clubs, You will be the supermodel for the guys

I have girls who are very tall in my club ( lucky you) and they just wear slightly lower heels but you should go to the audition proud

    Good luck
    Mia xx

  84. mia on June 16th, 2010 8:25 pm

    Hi Elizbeth

    Thank you for your message
About your tummy, as long as it looks toned you should be fine, but if it looks flabby you may have to tone it by decreasing fatty food, doing cardio and doing ab/stomach exercised which work all muscles in yoru stomach. I have written some exercises in the looks and diet section
You will find that it tomes up quickly if you hit it from all angles

Manangers of clubs are male or female

If at the audition you do not move right, most clubs will forgive you as they are ok with beginners, Although I would practice if I were you. If you sign up for my 5 day course I have put soem dance videos you can copy and try that are easy.

    I hope that helps

Yes I am sure that if your stomach is flat when you are standing you will be fine
there are alot of jobs in a strip club, so go get one

Also do sit ups, look online how to do sit ups and do them lifting your legs and your shoulders…your stomach will get even more flatter

  88. Mallori on June 22nd, 2010 7:25 pm

    Hello Mia!

Well, first and foremost, I have terrible stage fright and tend to feel awkward in most situations. However, I wanna try this out. I think it’s something I could be pretty good at if I try, plus I like to be challenged and just walk through situations which seem intimidating. So my question is: Were you ever shy in the beginning? How was your audition? And do you have any tips for not passing out on stage in the beginning? Haha. And should I take a lap dance class if i have never given one? I can’t imagine how to do one of those hahaha. Hope to hear from you, and thank you for answering all of our questions.

  89. mia on June 23rd, 2010 10:56 am

    Hi Mallori,

I was really shy when i started. I never thought I could do anything like dancing in front of people. I never thought i would be able to take my clothes off in front of people either.

So you do get used to it

And in the beginning i used to not look at anybody, so i used to pretend it was just me in the room and no one else

lapdancing can be learnt on the job by watching other girls give one. That is how i learnt, although i am sure there are dvd’s out there that teach you. Check on youtube

    Thanks for the questions

    Good luck

remember it is only an issue at the beginning. Once you get used to it, it becomes really easy

    Mia xx

  90. Mallori on June 25th, 2010 7:50 pm

Yeah I figured, it’s just nice to hear about it from someone else. Also… about hair (down there) is there supposed to be none? I have a little rectangle, but I don’t know what’s expected. I guess I could just go and observe…

  91. mia on June 26th, 2010 2:47 pm

    Hi Mallori

Hair down there can range from what you have to none…it is ok….some girls have a brazilian, just make sure it is tidy

You will see all sortsGood luck

    Hey Mia!
I have been thinking about stripping my way through college.I will be moving to nyc, dont know if you would know any great clubs to check out there? but I bet I could make good money. I will be having classes in the am so I def need something in the pm. I’m a certified dental assistant but I have been struggling to find something so I been workn pretty much any thing. Now I’m gonna try modelig and acting classes in the city but I need to survive there. Recently I have been researching alot on the internet to find out as much info and tips as possible and I came across your site:-) I dont know what to do or where to start honestly and since this is all new for me I’m alittle scared!! lol all I know so far is find a nice club, audition and then your on your own. I just wanted to know your first expirence, what to expect when dancing, from your body, customers, and the girl that work at the club. I heard there could be alot of drama behind the curtain. I’m a pretty down to earth girl with killer looks and a great personality I’m also very religious and Im caught between the whole is this right thing!? It’s just been extremly hard. I have worked two jobs just to make ends meet forever and I’m not gonna have time to find a job when I get there and focus on school at the same tim.I have to pay for loans and find a place to stay so it gonna take a while to get on my feet, the city could eat me alive and I wanted to be prepared how do you handle the stress and pressure? and will I be able to really do it just o get through school?

This site is a god send! I am a female in my early 20s, pretty face, plus-sized body but with curves in the right places. I go to a strip club twice a month with one of my guy friends. The girls there love us and I’ve actually become friendly with several of them. I want to get a divorce from my husband and I think stripping will help me make enough money to support myself. I really want to do it and the girls at the club encourage me to go for it! This site is helping me so much. Thank you for helping my dreams come true.

pretty neat page here. one of my friends used to strip for a couple months but stopped because her parents almost found out but she made mostly ok money but sometimes she would make a lot and i was thinking about trying to do that. only problem is i dont dance so well and i dont know if i have to make dance routines for everytime i work or if im just supposed to dance with the music while it plays and do i have to buy my own costumes or do they give you things to wear and make up? i just watched the movie “yellow” lol. i hope i get an answer.

    Hi Mallorie,

Heels for you if you are not great at walking in will have to be about 3inch ones as long as your club allows it. You can also get heels that are higher but have more of a platform heel so that your ffot is not at a great angle. I have seen plently of girls where this, as it gives them height without the angle

    Good luck

    Hi Kim

OMG! sounds like you have a lot on your plate.

Ok to rely on tripping if you are moving to NYC can be tough, making money when you are under so much pressure can be really hard also.

I always reccomend Jessica’s book who will help you via email support to get you through the whole process.

Also my friend works at Scores in NYC and says that the money can be good, but you do need to know what you are doing.

Maybe you can do some dental assisting to keep you afloat and some stripping on the side if that is poosible?

The first day at your club will always be daunting as you will have to remove your clothes and sell your time and dances, this will take time getting used to , but it can be done to. I was also raised religiously, but have come to terms with what i do and do not feel i need to be punished for what i do , nor is it a sin in my opinion…it is something you will have to come to terms with.

I dont blame you for being a little scared, maybe you could gather ome money beofre you get to NYC so that you can feel a little more stable and secure as you can concentrate on making it without the pressure of being desperate?

The customers come in all characters and you will have to become like a chameleon to get on with them. The girls cancreate a lot of drama and will create a lot of drama, but you can choose to stay out of it, and minimise anything that does happen. It is your choice.

To handle the stress and pressure, you will have to be extrememly disciplined with your time, your drinking and your keeping fit so that you can keep going. Yes the city can eat you alive if you let things drop. On teh flip side you can kick butt if you do things right. So look after yourself and get a great teacher on making money and you should be fine

    Good luck

    Hi Suzie Q

Thanks for the email. Was the film good? I haven’t seen it yet!

Anyway the dance routines are not really routines for 99% of the girls and they just dance to the music, so you can do the same.

Also in terms of costumes, you will have to provide your own. But before you buy any, make sure you find out from the club you want to work at what they would like you to wear, then go to any website or store where they sell stripper clothes and buy 2 to start with and see what you think. The discount stripper shop which is above is great for clothes at great prices

    Good luck

Doesn’t buying costumes cost a lot of money… lets say i was working 2 or 3 nights a week… you would never wear the same outfit twice right?

the movie was good i just dont know how accurate it was cuz i’ve never worked in one before. thanks for the reply!

  103. mia on July 14th, 2010 9:40 am

    Hi Suzie Q

Buying costumes does not have to be expensive, you can pick up a nice dress on ebay for about 20-30.

And to be honest you can wear the same thing every night some girls do, but it is best to have 2 so that if anything happens you can have a change of clothing

Also you can pick up cheap dresses in the clubs as girls are selling thier older ones and are bored or have bought a dress they don’t really like.

So even if you just buy one, you can pick up a whole set of cliothes very quickly

    I hope that helps
and thank you for the film review, I will ee it and let you know how accurate it is

    Mia,

I auditioned last night and the girls that work there were sooooo mean to me :( I felt like I was being hazed. They actually said “we’re not going to be nice to you.”

I think I did okay on stage, but probably didn’t get the job (the manager has no called me yet). I really need the money badly to get out of a bad situation. However, if I do get the job, I dont think I can take the girls being mean to me. I’m a timid person who likes to kinda just do my own thing and stay out of others way. What should I do?

  105. Dolce on August 1st, 2010 3:50 am

hello. I feel that I would enjoy dancing but I have several tattoos. Will this effect my potential earnings? most are cute and girly but one on my hip is a last name… wut do you think

    thank you
    Dolce

  106. mia on August 2nd, 2010 8:12 am

    Hi Roxy

Ok the girls at this new club do sound mean but they are just intimidating you. They do not want new girls to start as it is more competition. They just have to live with it. When you start working if you show you are not worried about it, they will leave you alone and bully someone else. I would just start there if you get the job

Also You should audition at another club and phone the manager back to see if you got the job. They get busy and can forget

Good luck and just go for it. In this job you will make money, but you cannot be timid, you need to be ablt to stick up for yourself, which you can do

    Good luck
    Mia xx

  107. mia on August 2nd, 2010 8:15 am

    Hi Dolce
Most girls who work in the club have tattoos. So I wouldn’t worry about it. If they do effect your earnings with potential customers, you can always try and hide them with your dress/costume. By the time you are naked, it will not matter

Be proud of them and that will make everyone else accept them. If you are confident about things, you will find that no one questions it.

    Good luck

Hi, I am planning on moving to NY in several weeks with only a few hundred dollars so I am thinking about trying to become a stripper. I am 18 but I’m considered that I won’t get hired because one of my breast is a little bit larger than the other one. will that affect me chances of getting hired? Will it matter what my hair looks like in terms of color? because right now the dye is fading so my roots are showing so i was wondering if i should touch up the color before i audition? Do you just go around and start talking to men and ask them if they want a lap dance or do you wait for them to ask you for one?

    Thanks

  111. mia on August 3rd, 2010 10:36 am

    Hi NY_girl,

If you are moving to NY with just a couple of hundred dollars I would say DO NOT BECOME A STRIPPER. 2-3 bad nights in a strip club can and will make you broke as you have to pay to work there, buy some clothes etc

What you need to do is this in my opinion- get a job that will definately pay you, and save up and work in a strip club at weekends, until you can feel confident about making money. In a strip club there is no guarantee and at the beginning you may not make any money, So it is not worth taking a risk

About your breast size and differences, that is not an issue. ALla girls have different sizes and shapes and no one has perfactly the same breasts , so do not worry about that.

Your hair – I would definately touch up the roots, not just for the club, but for you as a dancer, you want to look great and be confident so that you are well groomed.

And you do go up to customers. It is rare that they come up to you. You are competing with 50+ girls and it can get competitive

Good luck, I hope you take my advice

This is a FANTASTIC site! Just fyi. A blessing for people like me wanting to now as much as possible before plunging into this biz. So thank you.

Quick question: how are hours set up at a strip club? I ask because I am a full time student who doesn’t have a car and is going to have to take public transit (and taxi at night, for safety from patrons).

Also, is it too gimmicky to have a pre-planned dance or themed costumes? I ask because I’m actually considering a fringe dress for a provocative shimmy number. Do you think this is too much for the payoff or is just a simple, basic strip-off more profitable?

THANK YOU (can’t mean that enough)!

  113. mia on August 4th, 2010 10:27 am

    Hi Michelle

Thank you. I really appreciate the compliments.

Hours in a strip club vary in different clubs.

You can probably get to the club in the evening with public transport but will need to definately get a taxi home for your safety

You will be asked to work certain hours in most clubs and they vary on what time you start, like an example would be 7pm till close which is 3-4am or later

The best thing to do is ring the club you want to work for and check what thier shift schedules for girls is like.

Also in terms of the costume, I would find out what kind of club it is and test it after you have worked there for a day or two. You never know you could become a hit or it could fall flat. It all depends on your club and how much finesse you pull it off with

Good luck and let us know how you go

    Hi Kimberly

Thank you. I appreciate it that you love my site.

You are already doing great with the pole dancing. You could also read about how to sell.

As working in a strip club is all about sales. So if you learn about that you should be ready. In fact that is what Jessica Teaches, So if you do want to learn about Stripper sales, get her book.

Also make sure you stay and keep yourself toned.

Thats really all. I would get an ordinary job at the moment where you deal with a lot of people. This will teach you people skills and also
    earn you some money

    Good luck

    Hi Mia,

This isn’t the first time I’ve been considering being an exotic dancer..my best friend doesn’t want me to though, because she knows I have a lack in self-esteem and she’s afraid of me getting hurt. I’m 18 in college, exactly 5′ around 125-127 (I was 121 but I gained some muscle I believe from the lifting, phys. exertion, and running I used to do as a CNA), and several years ago I got a back injury. As a result my tummy sticks out a little bit (my upper back curves farther outward than it should, visa versa for my lower back) when I’m standing, and even with exercise I can’t seem to lose that tummy. I have blonde hair and hazel eyes. My parents are kicking me out of the house soon, and I need to afford an apartment, food for the table, and my car insurance (which is almost 1g every six months, a lot for someone who isn’t employed currently). I have two days off each week, and I have the weekends off. I struggle sometimes to get all my work done, it’s my first real semester at a college. I love to dance (especially bellydancing, haven’t practiced it in a bit though), but I’m very shy when it comes to dancing around other people. Do you think my body’s ok as it is, or should I tone up more? What types of exercises should I do? If I audition, and get hired, are there specific hours I should work, and what types of clothing should I get? About how much do inexperienced workers make? Do you need a license to be a stripper? Do I have to dance naked? What precautions should I take? I’m also hypoglycemic, so are strippers allowed to take short breaks(I rather not pass out if I don’t eat, especially at a strip club)? A very important question-do I have to have sex with the customers??? I’m very scared when it comes to that question because I was sexually abused (and raped) in my past, and I’m still scared of men touching me, yet alone sex. What do you recommend? I’m extremely stressed that my parents are having me move out so both can have a full time job (a sexual abuse and attempted rape occurred at home, and I have to leave the house so both parents can get a full time job..). I’m scared to no end that I might have to be a prostitute..and I rather not do that at all. My friends said they could take me in if they could.. I’m so sorry for burdening this upon you, but any advice from you would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  124. mia strippertips on October 2nd, 2010 9:50 am

    Hi Pixie

I am so sorry to hear about all teh stiff that has gone on in your life and going on…I am sure all the girls sympathis with you.

I can understand your BF’s concerns as stripping does require you to have quite Alot of self esteem asyou have to get over rejection, saying that though I started when i had low self esteem and gained it as i worked more, so that is possible

Also as a stripper you cannot rely on it at first to pay you well, as you may find making money is not as easy as you wish. You will have to learn and during that time you can make nothing or even come home with less money as you have to pay most of the clubs you work at.So if I were you I would get a regular job and strip at the weekends until you feel sure this is for you.

In terms of your stomach, a lot of girls dont have the perfect stomacha dn how much is ok, all depends on where you work.So the best thing to do to find out is to make it as best you can and then go and audition. You will be given the result. Do not feel bad if it is not positive, just ask them why and then work n it.
Akll stomachs can be removed of fat , even if the curvature is not perfect, so don’t worry. If you want to know the exercises you need , have a read of the comments, I have written loads of exercises in a comment that will tell you exactly the type of exercises you need for a less flabby stomach.

If you have problems because of the rape ( for whic I am truly very sorry) you may find stripping difficult as some clubs allow touching ad the amount varies depending on which club you are at.

Hours to work – these vary in clubs, it is best to ask them. Some will want a schedule from you and others are more flexible.

Clothing is great at ebay and the stripper clothes which are at a discount in the banner above.

Licence, varies state to state and country to country, so again it is best to ask the club you are going to be working at

In some clubs you will have to dance nake and others are topless, so again you will ask the club

You will NOT have to have sex with the customers. We are exotic dancers and not prostitutes. So please if that is happening, you need to leave the club you are at. That is not what we do.

You need to get yourself stabe first and then look at stripping to make your life better.

I hope that helps and wishyou a lot of luck and love. Please come back and tell me how you are doing

Ok, so I’m 20 years old, I have a 1 year old son, and for a while i’v thought about stripping. I’v danced for men in a certain bar a number of times for fun and loved it and made good money. But I want to do it professionally. My body isn’t bad at all, especially after having a kid.
I’m nervous about auditioning, and I’m a real push over, and I heard the other girls won’t always be nice. I’m not good with confrontations. How do the mean girls treat “rookies”? And how can I avoid any negativity?

  127. mia- how to become a stripper on October 13th, 2010 12:53 pm

    Hey June

Ok you will be fine then with the body and your attutude for dancing seems great.

In terms of negativity and confrontation, I always say, keep quiet and watch when you first arrive. If you do not seem like a threat to other girls they will leave you alone.

Girls who work in the club are not as bad as people make out and there are some really sweet girls who work there.
But the girls in some clubs do like to protect thier domaine so can be nasty. Just keep to yourself when you first get there and be nice and polite and you should not find any trouble.

Just learn how to make money and don’t step on anyones toes until you feel comfortable being more assertive

Good luck and let us know how it goes

Thank you so much for this website! The information is so helpful. I have been thinking of getting into stripping for awhile…just because I love dancing and talking to people and think that I would have a lot of fun with it.
Just recently I’ve started to consider it very seriously but I’m not sure if I should work harder on getting into shape before I audition or if I should just go audition and see if they tell me to work on my body. I am not sure if I am just being really hard on myself physically and I think that if I wait until I think I am “perfect” I might never try out.
I am in decent shape. I go to dance classes once a week and go jogging sometimes and my job right now is in a restaurant where I am constantly on my feet and walking very quickly as it is a very fast-paced environment.
I guess my biggest fear is of going to an audition and being laughed at. It’s so intimidating!
    What do you suggest?

  131. Jaslene on November 19th, 2010 3:40 am

Hi Mia!First off I want to say thank you for being so kind and informative of the business. I’ve actually worked in strip clubs before so I’m pretty familiar with the atmosphere. Although I do know that it varies from place to place, and my past jobs were as a massage girl and bartender. I’m very tall and in extremely good shape with an exotic caribbean/spanish look. I train hard everyday, but am still very feminine but lean. Oddly enough I never thought I would consider dancing, but I’ve worked out some of my financial debts and I think dancing just might be the answer in the short term, while I grow in my full time career.

My question to you is what is the most amount of money you’ve seen a first time dancer make in a year? I’ve seen how some girls work in clubs(you know the lazy ones that just kind of hang around doing nothing). I will not be like that! I want to make money and do it FAST! I’m not involved in the drug, drinking, and mental head case games like some of the dancers I think we all have seen. That being said as the determined, clear headed person that I consider myself to be(lol), what could I expect to make in my first year? And do you think I’d be better off hitting a higher end spot? Or have those places taken a hit due to the economy? Thank you again so MUCH! Your response is greatly appreciated.
    Be well!

  132. Mia - How to Become A Stripper on November 19th, 2010 1:09 pm

    Hey Jaslene

Thanks for your message, I am sure a lot of girls are asking the same question

Now the answer to this is quite ambiguous. I can tell you that some girls who are motivated and good can expect $30,000 + IF they are motivated, work at least 4 nights a week, do not get drunk and take thier job seriously. The reason why this is quite low is because when a girl first starts there is a lot to learn in terms of selling and confidence etc, so you may lose money at first, even if you are woking hard. You can look amazing and not be able to sell anything which makes you a goodlooking poor stripper.
on the other hand the fact that you have done some work like that before is a plus for you as you know the environment and in a lot of ways had to converse with customers already.

The difference is that when you are a dancer you will have to converse, flirt and SELL which is what makes it harder but sweeter when you hit it.

If you are in debt and want to earn money FAST, my best recommendation would be Jessica Simmonds Book 7 Step Strip Success. She will make sure you end up in the right club and also teach you money making tips to get you earning as quick as possible as well as help you stop losing money every night

Working in a high end club is great if you know what you are doing but wen you are new, you can end up going home in debt as fees to work in the club are really high as they know the girls can earn loads.

If I were you I would want to start off right knowing that you want to do this quick and not be in more debt

I hope that helps and good luck
Will you come and tell us what you have decided and how it goes? The girls keep up with other girls and it makes everyone able to learn. Thank you Jaslene

Thank you for the tips. I am thinking about starting my dancing career but didn’t know how to get started. This is all very useful information. I have 5 children including a 2 week old baby but have gotten right back into shape. I’m down to 115lbs already. My stomach is pretty flat but not as toned as it could be. I also have quite a bit of stretch marks but they aren’t all that noticeable. Reading through the questions and responses on here has really made me feel better about that. I have a few questions though: I do have a good career, I am an RN. You might think that is good enough money but with raising 5 children on my own it really doesn’t cut it. My concern is could this jepordize my career or nursing license? Also, this may be an odd question, but what do the dancers do when they are on their period? Do the girls usually take that week off or just wear a tampon? AND another unusual question… I am breastfeeding (which makes my boobs look awesome btw) but am concerned with occasional leaking which usual isn’t a problem as long as it hasn’t been more than a couple hours since I last fed or pumped. Do strip clubs allow for pumping in the dressing room?

Any of your advice is greatly appreciated!

  134. mia how to become a stripper on November 24th, 2010 1:56 pm

    Hey Hypnoteyez

Thank you for your email and i am happy that you feel better about dancing after reading the comments here. that makes me very happy.

Good on yoyu looking after 5 children and still being a hot mama!

Also in terms of your nursing career, it should not be a problem, but if they find out which is possible if someone sees you or any other reason, you will need to see what the consequences could be. You can find that out from a RN board or whoever your governing body is. If the consequences are not terrible, then you can dance without any real worries

In terms of pumping in the dressing rooms, most clubs will not mind at all. I have seen girls in some clubs do that and it is cool. If you want to be more discreet you can go in to a ladies bathroom cubicle so no one knows you business

I hope that helps and look forward to hearing what you decide, come back and tell us your progress
    Good Luck

  136. ariel on December 8th, 2010 6:49 am

Hi mia! Well I’ve been wanting to be a stripper since my first time going when I was 17. I wanted to know if they clubs care about your butt? I know its hott now to have a big booty like vixins, and well.. I don’t. Also the breast? I’m a D and well since my child they are not perky. More like saggss. Lol o and id prolly have to like drop 20 lbs. What do u think? Seems like you gotta be a dime piece.

  137. mia how to become a stripper on December 8th, 2010 9:51 am

    Hi Crystal

The dances on stage you need more practice with your shoes and maybe be more slower and sexier while moving so you do not lose balance
Also to sell Vip you need to learn selling skills. The best person to teach you how to sell vip dances is Jessica Simmonds. she teaches you how to get dances as you need many emails and techniques. It really is worth you getting her book

    Good luck

  138. mia how to become a stripper on December 8th, 2010 9:53 am

    Hi ariel
They do not care about your butt. They have girls with big butts, small butts and various sizes and shapes of breasts so again don’t worry about that

The 20 lbs you will need to tone or lose if youa re overweight. You can do it really healthily in about 2 months and you will look great
I hope you go for it if it is what you want
    Good luck Ariel

hi mia I auditioned yestetday at a stripclub and got the job I wasn’t nervous it was fun. Before I auditoned I got to watch the girls. I wasn’t impresses with them. The club is really small, its in a busy area. However the guys seemed cheap with tiping hardly any girls got tips it was a slow night should I go forward and see wat happens ormove on? And also I need at least 60 a night to be able to pay for school in oct. Thanks xoxo.

  140. Anonymous on December 16th, 2010 10:04 am

    Hi WanabstripJ
    Great you got the job!
You can try this club and see if it allows you to make money by selling lapdances or champagne rooms. If not you can try another club
There are slow nights in every club, but you should give it a go
    Good luck

Hey mia thanks again for everthing yesterday night was my first night and was slow til 11ish a lot of girls were getting money but I had none around 12 I finally earned money bjt after paying the house fee of 50 I only made 20 dollars, this is very dishearting how do I increase my sales? Xoxo

  142. wanBstripperJ on December 20th, 2010 2:25 am

hey mia i have been down these past few days barely making enough to pay the club. friday night i couldnt pay the house fee, i had the molney to pay them but wasnt willing to give up almost all my money. therefore i had to tell them i didnt have it which they told me i have to pay it tomorow which was 120 now. I had to borrow the 120 from my mom cause i knew there was no way in hell i was gonna be able to make 120. I learned my lesson to just give them the tip out even if im only left with 20 or 5 dollars better than owning double. anywayz how do I increase my sales. by the way saturday night however was excellent night i talked to one guy just about whole night he tiped me 10 dollars at the bar and paid for three lap dances dances which was excellent we really hit it off, i didnt pressure him for v.i.p. room do you think i should have being he really liked me and refused to talk to any of the other girls? xoxo

  143. mia how to become a stripper on December 20th, 2010 8:47 am

    Hi WanBstripperJ

You need to learn how to sell your lapdances, VIp and ask the guys. You cant talk to a guy all night for just 3 lapdances and a tip of $10. That is too cheap. You need to value yoruself and ask for money and sales
    That is very important
If you want to learn how to sell and make money, get Jessica’s book. It is how I learnt. It is not an overnight thing, but you will leanr how to value yourself and your time and ask for the dances. IUt is extrememly important.
Don’t get flattered by a customer wanting to talk to just you. He had a cheap night in a strip club with a great looking girl cause she did not ask for a lot. Lucky him
You need to not give away time like that as it makes it hard for other girls in the club to make money when time and a good time etc are given away for free
It is a lose – lose situation for everybody but the customer.
I hope that is a bit of a wake up call to get you to learn how to sell your time and make soem real money
    Good luck
    Mia xx

I can’t wait for your friend to put together information for men who want to strip for women. I hope she is able to do this in 2011. You have good advice for the ladies and glad you take the time to response to those whom post here. I have always treat the female strippers with respect and tip them very , since house fees plus other costs they incure. I hope to be stripping for women soon. I only 5′8″ht plus 150 pounds but not to bad slender body can work up better in new year 2011. Do I have a chance to do this since I not 5′10″ tall 180pounds as some places want. I would like to have your advice on this if you able to reply. Thank you. Ray

I want to be a stripper, but I am a terrible dancer. To learn, what sites would be the best? Also, what are the best exercises to get toned? I was a figure skater (I’m a great dancer on ice, but not on land) so I have great legs, but my butt and stomach refuse to tone up. I’d like to get started soon.

    Thanks for your message
Yes I will get on at her about setting up the site :)

In the meanwhile why dont you just phone up agencies and ask them if you are right for them, You will get your answer if you test 4-5

I wish you luck and love the way you respect up girls

Hey!! First of all, I just want to thank you for doing all of this. I’m sure you’ve helped many girls and it’s so nice of you to extend your knowledge on this subject. Sooo, I’ve always wanted to be a stripper because it seems fun and it certainly pays well. I’m old enough to do it now, but my parents are really strict and would not be happy with me doing it. Is there any way to go into that profession without leaving a record of it? Thanks in advance!

  149. mia how to become a stripper on January 11th, 2011 11:41 am

    Hi Heidi

Thanky ou so much, I appreciate it.

There is no record that your parents are likely to know about. Just make sure you can work somewhere you will not be seen by your parents or someone you know

I know it may seem deceptive, but the truth is its your life and what may be right for you may not be what your parents agree with

    Good luck

do you have to get naked on stage to be a stripper? I am interested in making some money but I will not go nude, could I still just strip down to bare minimals?

  152. CandyGirl on January 26th, 2011 11:51 pm

Hello Mia :) I’m turning 18 in a month and plan to move out for my senior year. I’m learning pole dancing and it’s pretty easy and fun, and I have a great personality, but I’m having a few questions still (I’m SOOOO sorry if you’ve already answered things like this!)

1st I can’t find any sites that specify the laws for my state, because NE tends to not discuss these things :/

2nd my bf says he’s ok with me stripping until we get married in 2

  153. CandyGirl on January 26th, 2011 11:56 pm

014 but I’m really wondering if it’s possible to have a relationship while stripping.

3rd If I worked 4 nights a week would I be able to afford an apartment and food and other things like that? I’m really nervous about not making enought for rent a month even if i work hard :( My family is moving so I wont have a place to stay soon.

Thanks for all this info :) It’s really really hwlpful!

(and sorry that my message is seperated, technology slays me)

    Hi Julianna

Congrats on the baby. ANd you will lose the weight

In SF the clubs mostly all hire NEwbies, so try all of them and see which ones you like showgirls, hustler, gold club, centrefolds etc

You will like some and not others, once you lose weight you can audition for all of them and choose which one you like

    Good luck

In most clubs you dont have to get naked on stage although you may have to when you are doing a private dance

    I hope that helps

  156. mia how to become a stripper on January 28th, 2011 12:45 pm

    Hi Candygirl

Thanks for your message and no problem with the separation. Well done with the poledancing too! :)

1)The Best way for you find the laws of your state is to phone a strip club and ask them if you need a licence, special underwear and what kind of contact is allowed legally. If you do that you will have the main laws

    2) It is very possible to have a relationsip while stripping as long as it is dealt with properly. Most girls in the club have a longterm healthy relationsip who I know so it can be done

    3) if you are going to strip 4 days a week you should more then be able to support yourself IF you have learned how to make money. You will have to learn first as it is a skill. You can hopefully start with your bf can help at first or you can get a normal job. And if you really are serious about learning about making money, Jessica is teh best teacher I know

    Good luck

Hi Mia, Love the blog! But i do have one question. I don’t have a lot of money to buy clothes for stripping. I probably can only afford like two outfits for stripping. Is this ok? I mean I’ll wash them and everything and be totally hygenic, but will i be like the gross stripper if I show up wearing the same two outfits every other night until I can make more money to buy more clothes? Thanks so much!

    Heidi :)

  158. Fantaseret on February 4th, 2011 3:30 am

    Hello Mia,

As everyone seems to agree, your site is so helpful! Thank you for all the information that is so hard to find elsewhere!

In the next few months I will be flying to Europe, and love the idea of dancing my way through my travels. I am 24 and all I want is to see the world, but am on a tight budget. So working at some clubs across the continent sounds like a good way to make some money, and also (if I can get past the nerves!) a lot of fun!

I have a few questions I’m hoping you can help me with:

First, how do I go about finding places I can contact along the way for possible jobs, especially when I might not be in one place for very long?

Second, I have taken pole dancing classes for about a year now. I am an alright dancer and absolutely in love with the experience, but the class was designed more for personal appreciation and enjoyment rather than performance. (Not that we don’t learn how to perform – it’s just not the purpose.)

That said, I think I will do fine with an audience… but don’t know if I’d be comfortable with things like lap dances or being completely nude (which are the money makers I understand). Are there places that will hire me without the requirement of private sessions, and if so can I still pick up a good amount of money?

Thanks very much, you are wonderful!

  159. mia how to become a stripper on February 5th, 2011 12:23 pm

    Hi Hiedi

What youa re going to do is totally fine. YOu will have to be organised but will be fine with 2 outfits.
Go on ebay once you have some more money
You can also get cheap lingerie that looks good in some shops

    Good luck

  160. mia how to become a stripper on February 5th, 2011 12:28 pm

    Hi Fantaseret
Thank you – I appreciate it

In terms of the dancing around europe you can get to clubs when you get there and see if they will hire you. Hiring is very quick, but it all depends on the Visa’s you hold. Also in Europe there are clubs which are more touchy and may be mroe then you bargained for. But there are places where you can do stage dances only, although the money may not be that great.

Just google strip clubs of where you are going and contact them so you can see if you can work without any necessary paperwork. You can also ask them about nudity and what touching is required.

I think the dancing part will be good for you and you will enjoy it. You can always ask the clubs if they will hrie you to dance on stage first and then see if you would like to do any more.

Good luck and have fun in Europe and please make sure you are safe
    Mia xx

  161. Fantaseret on February 6th, 2011 11:41 pm

    Thank you Mia!

It sounds like my best bet will be to walk into a place and ask around. I think you are right that after getting use to being on stage, I may become more comfortable with other things. Is it common that places will hire a girl for a just a week or so?

I hadn’t planned on any Visas – I have been told that because I’ll be moving so much it won’t be necessary. Do most places require a work Visa or something?

I also saw you mentioned that you always bring your own clothes. Is it a good idea to bring shoes with me, or do you maybe have a suggestion that would help me pack minimally and still have what I need? I will do what I have to do! It’s all a bit nerve racking but exciting!

  162. Lucie on February 8th, 2011 12:22 am

Hey, thanks for the tips! I’m not quite eighteen yet, but am interested in this sort of career. I was wondering, have you come across any clubs that specialize in more ‘alternative’ girls? I have very short, cherry red hair and plan on getting tattoo’ed as soon as it’s legal, and don’t want to sacrifice my individuality for any job! Would be interested in working in a fun, cheeky, unique club with interesting girls and clientele. Do these exist, or are they all pretty generic?

Hi Mia! i love ur site. I recently decided to start dancing and just got my permit today! im pretty excited, but i have a few worries. First im 135 so im not fat, really pretty, and i think i can dance since ive been practicing alot. But the thing is i have sort of a lil pudge on my stomuch that irks me to death, but when i tighten my abs its not as noticeable. do u think it will affect my auditions? and second: i have a really bad scar on my right leg from a car accident/surgery, as well as a couple of scars on my left arm. will managers take one look at them and send me on my way? or do u think i will be albe to work with them? id really appreciate the advice,,Thanks!

  165. Sam on February 23rd, 2011 4:45 am

I am 5 10 and 167 pounds. I am curious to learn more about being a stripper. What’s the house fee like? Do you get to keep panties or have to get fully nude? I have scars from a few operations, will that stop men from wanting to look at me? I’m pretty flat chested but my butt makes up for it. I’m just curious about it all and would like someone on the inside to share what it’s really like.

  166. Kat on March 9th, 2011 11:25 am

Hello, well I was very interested in doing this, but I have a couple questions myself.

I’ll give you a quick description of myself, I have a mix of maybe a light brown, naturally highlighted with reds and blondes. Lighter brown eyes, and pale skin, thin build, long legs, no hips(lol) and C34 breast, weight of 104 and a height of 5′3.

Now time for my questions, I’ve yet to see these addressed so I thought I would ask them myself.

    1. Are their clubs where they pay /you/, or are all of them clubs where you must pay?

    2. Any chance that through the job I’d be able to find help finding outfits and what not, or is everything a “buy your own” deal?

    3. I really wish to dye my hair come summer, not a normal color of course, but something more out there, like white with a bit of red streaking. Would dyeing my hair these colors maybe hinder me getting a job somewhere?

    4. Have you ever found clubs where the girls are nice and friendly with each other?

  167. Beba on March 16th, 2011 1:35 am

Most of the girls who want to get into this business are younger. I am in my 40’s but look way younger and always date younger men. I have been pole dancing at home and classes for a year now and want to work in a club. Am I too old to get hired? I have no problems attracting men, have great body. What do you think would I be laughed out of the club?

    Hi Simone

The pudge on your stomach will depend on how much it is and what the club wants. If I were you I would train more to make it as little as possible

The scars will be fine and you can put covering make up to make them less obvious if you want

    Hi Sam

The house fee varies depending on club and days and can be anything from 0-100
And they have panties on club as well as full nide clubs. Your scars will be fine as men will symapthise and some men will not care if you have a flat chest. You can make them fall for you. Some guys are also just butt guys so they will love you!

    Good luck

  177. mia how to become a stripper on April 16th, 2011 8:52 am

    Hi Kat

    To answer your questions

    1) There are clubs that will not charge you at all, but I don’t kmow of any that will pay you unless you are a feature dancer

    2) You buy your own outfits when you start but there are girls in the clubs who will be selling thier outfits

    3) Your hair may hinder you depending on where you work. So you will have to check it out to see if it is more traditional or they are more lenient

4)There are clubs where the girls are friendly, it just depends. Every club has its own culture. I have found that the more moeny the club has the more there are problems as they are all competing for the big bucks. But even within that there is some great girls who you can be friends with

  187. Sierra on April 24th, 2011 11:37 am

Hey Kristina! I saw your question and just thought I’d tell you that I just started dancing (tonight was my third night) and I was worried about height too because I’m 5′11”. It is definitely not a problem at all! In fact, it’s a really great conversation starter…a lot of guys come up to me and comment first on my height. I’ve given private dances to guys way shorter than me too so it doesn’t seem to prevent me from selling dances. I even wear shoes with 5 and 3/4 inch heels! I guess it just all comes down to the fact that we are meant to be a fantasy and tall is SEXY!

Hi I hope you can help. I have not been lucky enough to find the answer to my question and I’m getting really concerned. I auditioned at a fairly upscale classy club last Tuesday. I got the job right off the bat, signed some paper work, and was told that I would be receiving a phone call from him (the hiring manager) on Saturday when the schedules come out. Well it is now Sunday and still no phone call. I left a message last night after I hadn’t heard from him and still no response. I’m really getting worried that they maybe changed their mind although I don’t see why seeing that everyone seemed super excited to have me start working there. Its easter now

  190. Berlin on April 24th, 2011 11:35 pm

I have to continue….my computer froze…so anyway….its easter now so I probably shouldn’t call again today but if they don’t call by Monday should I forget it? I’m really worried because this was my number one pick club. Its really nice and professional. I would be devestated if they told me I got the job just to find out that they were just blowing me off. Not only that but since I thought I had it I haven’t been out auditioning anywhere else and I was seriously counting on having some cash flow this week and its really going to screw me if I don’t. Any h

    Hi Kristina

You are not too tall. You are a supermodel looking girl and can use that in your favour. Make sure you appreciate your uniqueness and you will be great!

  194. mia how to become a stripper on April 29th, 2011 12:14 pm

    Hi candii
Usually songs in the strip club are sensual songs so you will be able to move well
Also you can wear heels that are lower at first until you get used to it and your hair does not have to be long. Girls have short and long hair at the club
    good luck

    Hi Iccyhot
Thank you, I am glad you are finding this helpful!

    ok To answer your questions
you can have any size breasts, as long as you feel confident so dont worry.
You can make up your own moves
You can also wear heels of any size although you can wear more higher heels if you wear platform ones that are more comfortable
When it is time of month you can either take a week off or wear a discreet tampon with the string tucked or cut so that it is discreet
    I hope that all helps
    Good luck

Hi Berlin, The manager is probably busy or off. The best thing to do is not worry and go in and see them. If they see you face to face they will give you a schedule. So dont worry. If they have a problem, then just move on to the next club. Their loss.I know you really want this but you will have to be a bit more flexible
    Good luck

    Hi chesica

If you need to make money the person to contact is Jessica Simmonds. She will teach you how to make money at your club. I learnt from her too, so I knwo she is really good. If you can get her email support with her book you will really be able to ask her questions, but only if there are spaces for that, so have a look

Hey I messaged a while back when I was still in the decision-making phase about whether or not to be a dancer. I was really scared about auditioning and worried they might even laugh at me. Well, when I finally went in they didn’t laugh at all (just as you said they wouldn’t). In fact they said I shouldn’t just be doing VIP, I should be a feature dancer!

I’ve decided to stick with VIP for now cuz it’s more flexible. The money I’ve made in the 3 shifts I worked has varied a lot. $200, $600, and $300 (after tipping out and house fee etc). Is it normal for the money to vary so much?

So far I love dancing and i love the $$$. Thanks for all the great advice :-)

  204. Mella on May 7th, 2011 1:17 am

I am 5′2 103 lbs and i am dont have very big breast…. will that hurt me getting a job as a dancer?

  205. Greta on May 13th, 2011 2:02 am

I’ve thought about stripping as a way to pay for school… But I’m very self-conscious about my look. I’m 5′ and about 100 lbs (thin) and have tiny breasts. However, I’ve been told I’m very pretty and could be a model. My boyfriend says I can be incredibly sexy when I want to be… I have brown hair and blue eyes, and I dance modern/jazz/ballet/a little hip hop. Do you think I have what it takes?

  206. Stormy on May 20th, 2011 1:47 am

I’m a 21 year old single mom of a 10 month old. I’m interested in dancing but to be quite honest, I’ve never even seen someone dance. Does height really matter all that much? I’m 4′11 and only 99lbs. Am I too small? I wear size 1 and 0/1 in everything but I wear a 32C. My breasts are natural but would this look weird? I have shoulder length black/brown hair, green eyes, fair skin and a lot of tattoos and piercings. Is this the right look? Also, do people mind tan lines? I’m naturally very pale but am always out in the sun so my tan lines tend to be extreme during the summer.

    Hi,

I think I have the opposite problem of most of these girls. I see nothing wrong with my body and am confident with my appearance, even though I’m a bit bigger than most of the girls in the industry. I’m not fat, but I have enormous breasts and a slight amount of jiggle around the middle (size 34FF bra, size 10 jeans). I’ve been turned down at a few clubs, told that I need to lose 50 pounds. I don’t even see where that much weight could even come off my body without looking extremely ill. How do I find a safe club that is fine with my appearance?

    HI there,

just wanted to post a bit of advice for new dancers worried about their body – im 22 and have been dancing for a year now. I am not the best looking dancer in my club, i have my war wounds from having a baby and quite heavily tattooed, yet im one of the high earners in my club.

So girls, don’t worry too much about body image – obviously make yourself look the absolute best you can, but money is more related to how you behave and speak within the club. SMILE is the best advice you can get in this game :)

Love the site by the way, helped out alot both starting out and now!

I want to be a stripper, but one thing I’m worried about is my teeth.. They aren’t rotting or anything and I have all of them but they aren’t the most straight…. Is that a problem?

  217. Chelsea on June 23rd, 2011 10:43 pm

I suggest to start at the smaller clubs until you can make enough money to invest in yourself to improve yourself so you can work at the better clubs.

  218. Estarr on June 24th, 2011 10:38 am

I love dancing and acting up on stage–I simply can’t get enough of it. I have also done ten years of dancing as well as theatre. I have recently been stationed in Maryland and am wondering if you have run into any Army strippers? I do not want to get into trouble nor ask my NCOs…that would be awkward.

As for fat, well, I would feel better at 140 lbs than 160 lbs since my fat would be significantly less and not so much jiggliness, but I am confident I can pull it off. I am pretty athletic. My big issue is that I bruise easily–err well I love hip hop and breakdancing, but sadly the bruises look pretty bad. Is there something I can take for this?

Also, where are the “safer” clubs in Baltimore and D.C. areas?

  219. Stormy on July 5th, 2011 1:23 am

I just recently started dancing and I have found to love it. Being in this club, I realized that men love women in all shapes and sizes. There are stick thin girls to what would be conisdered “plus size” and they are all beautiful. I’ve even decided to try GAINING weight because I’ve noticed that the curvier girls make more money. I want to thank you for this blog, after reading this I feel like it gives girls a guide on what to expect and how to handle any given situation.

can anyone tell me a really good dvd to get that teaches how to give striptease and lap dance?

  225. Sweet Chocolate on August 2nd, 2011 4:19 am

Hi Mia, I am a 21 year old mother and also a full time college student. I love my body and love to groove to sexy music. But I am pretty shy in front of large crowds. So I have been considering taking a few classes to boost my confidence level and to learn some of the moves. But my concern is making enough money. Travel and paying the club to strip would probably cost me some of my earnings. I’m just not sure if I’m ready to take the risk! But I do desperately need the money and I know I have an amazing body!

  226. Anonymous on August 2nd, 2011 11:13 pm

  227. Alicia on August 7th, 2011 2:57 am

    I have a question.

I’m already a dancer. Been dancing for a couple of months.

    My question is..

What should I do when I have two customers that want my company at the same time?

Like today for example, I was sitting down with a guy and we were talking, and then one of my regular customers that just came in to see me, comes in. I had to stay with the first guy until he left, I just didn’t know what to do. Thankfully my regular customer had enough patience…

  228. Samantha on August 28th, 2011 12:34 am

Hey Mia, I see you haven’t answered in a while.. but I loved your article. I have been thinking about becoming a dancer for sometime now to make money for me and my husband. He has a good job but we could use some more since I am in school still and don’t have a good job. I have been pole dancing for almost 3 years now and I’m very good at it. I can do all kinds of crazy stuff. I can do some floor work when I get real into the music. But I have a few questions first 1.) do you have to be super flexible to make good money. Like do a whole bunch of splits? I’m working on mine but I’m not there yet. 2.) I’m not fat and a lot of guys say I have a great body. But I’m more on the athletic side. I’m 5′5 and about 140 but its all muscle. I have a B cup too and I’m concerned I won’t have big enough boobs. I been to some clubs in my area and not all of the dancers have big boobs but they are really skinny than. 3.)Bumps, I hate hair so I shave a lot. How do I get rid of bumps in a safe and inexpensive way. I also have some scars on my legs and arms.. they are from bug bites and such, will they not like that? And 4.) I am going to school for psychology, do all clubs put down you work for them? Do they ask for your social and all that paper work to work for them? Thanks hope to hear from you or anyone else that can help.

  230. mia on how to become a Stripper on September 7th, 2011 7:02 am

    Hi Natasha from May 1st

The weight you are cannot be judged juston weight as you may be muscular ad be very lean looking and still be that weight. I would suggest going to a cub for an audition so they will tell you.

You can only tell what the standard is by going to a club. Some allow more larger girls and others are more strict.

Your “big nose” is not such a big nose I am sure as guys love all girls and will not even notice our nose. Just be confident over it,look at some actresses. They have larger noses and are fne

Yes in a lot of clubs you will have to pay to work at the club. Alot of girls do not make money whcih is why always say learn how to make money from Jessica. It is how I learnt.

Also make sure you have a bit of money before you start stripping as you have to learn how to make mone before you do

And most girls get stage fright when they start, I know I did. So just do it and you will get over it I am sure
    Good luck

You must tell your boyfriend and be able to talk about it. Tell him it is not because you want another guy but it is work and it is for you.

He hould be able to trust you. If it is what ou want to do you need to mak sure you are both happy about it and discussing all the issue will help you get there.

    Hi Leeanne

Ok firs of all you can do this. There are women who have had children who are strippers, so dont worry

All you have to do is go o a club as a customer and see if there are girls who are near your size. If not you may have to lose weight and get toned. It is not too late, so it is up to you if you want it bad enough

You will have to be determined but If you are you will do it

Good luck – you dont need support you are strong enough

    Hi Manddday

It does not matter in most clubs how tall you are. The weight is not always so easy as you have to be toned for most clubs. Why dont you just go and see for yourself? Tehn tone up and lose weight as necessary

Your self concuiousness wil go as you do it and you will gain confidence as you tone up a become as good as you can be

    hello Mia

first of all I want to say I really enjoy your blogs and find it very informative. I am a 40yr old African American women. I am in good shape and a lot of people tell me I really look younger. I got interested in this profession late but I am very interested in becoming a stripper.

I work full time in the banking industry But find it not exciting at all.I want to know is it really too late to start. Because I am black how do I avoid anyone assuming I am a whore and willing to do more than just strip. And If I go on an audition will they think i”m too old. also are there any famous successful African American strippers that i read about for inspiration.

Also because I’m older I refuse to work at a club that is not a “high end” club but do to my age, being black and having no experience am I really being realistic

    thank you

hi there to all the girls thinking about becoming a dancer! I have been dancing for just about a year now, and i love it! I make anywhere from 400-2,000 a night working for 6 hours! ANGEL_EYES, i have seen plenty of women in the club with bellys they want to hide and YES there are plenty of things to hide your tummy, sometimes when i feel bloated i have things to help, first of all corsets are very sexy and they cover you well, you can also wear dresses, there are many things you can find it wont be a problem! =] and to all you women out htere that think you are untoned or a lil over weight, you will be in GREAT shape after working for a month! It is great exercise and will tone your body very well! It is a great way to make fast cash, myself started dancing because i had to find a new place to live in two days and have to pay for school! so i make on average $140,000 a year dancing. I find it fun to go to work now at first I was terrified! So suck up the courage and try it! I got two of my girls into it and they enjoy it now =] Also every single dancer is different, we are all not tall and thin with big butts and boobs! im 5′6 120 lbs no booty and small natural boobs,i work with a lot of mothers, older women and younger girls, every guy wants something different when he walks into the club! It is your personality that is 90% of how you make your money! Just be yourself and try to relax and enjoy yourself! Make that money girls! Its out there! =]

hi my name is teresa im 20 and im 5′0 120 i dont have a flat belly i have two kids and i do have some stretch marks iv always wanted to be a dancer but i didn t know if i still could .

  245. Shannon on September 17th, 2011 3:23 am

Im going to be 18 in two weeks and i really need money, im 130lb 5′7 and i have been told i have a stripper body. I used to dance(tap/ballet/jazz) so i figure that experience might help. I just dont know exactly how i would go about getting the job, like should i call first or go in and check it out then ask? The club i would go to is only down the street and I already know it isnt all that nice(which is fine with me) and its pretty small, so i think i could get the job. Also i dont know what to wear, i feel like im to tall for heals, and i have no little outfits to wear. Where would i buy the outfits? Okay so how does the pay work? Do you just get what you make? Do you still get paid hourly if you dont make anything? Also do I have to get completely naked? Ive heard sometimes the girls just dance in thong bikinis type things. One more thing, are people aloud to take pictures of you? I really dont need pics of me like that popping up on facebook or something.

    hi mia

I live in NYC and there are alot of pole dancing schools in my area. Do you think girls that are good at pole dancing get more tips? or do you think I should concentrate on my lap dance skills to get the money?

Hi, I’m 17, looking to pick up stripping when I turn eighteen, purely because I think it would be an empowering and fun experience. I have long, extremely dark brown hair, I’m quite pale, in shape, around 120, 32b/25/35 measurments, and 5′10″ without heels.

I have scars from past self harm on my thighs, I know people are saying that a few scars from accidents and things won’t make a difference, but what about mine? I have quite a bit, all on my upper thighs, and makeup doesn’t cover them. I don’t self harm anymore, but I’m worried that would hinder me from stripping, especially considering self harm is often ridiculed in society.

Also, I’m a great dancer (as well as having a background in traditional styles of dance; ballet, ballet en pointe, hip hop, modern, and jazz), but, I haven’t ever danced on a pole, is it much harder to pick that up? And on videos I see girls doing crazy stuff like hanging upside down on poles, how do you even learn that stuff? I’m worried I’ll be subpar compared to other girls.

  248. Sara on October 11th, 2011 4:01 am

Okay so ive been thinking about bein a stripper/dancer but the money thing seems werid, why do I have to pay for a job I wanna do? And is there places that don’t charge? Oh and I’m a shy type person do you think that would work for me? And I’m about 5′5 and I’m skinny and I weigh about 115 or so and I have small tits. But I’m not comforable with my body for some reason I have no clue why, people always say they would die for my body buy Im so uncomfortable in my skin why is this ?

  249. Lela on October 11th, 2011 11:53 pm

    hi,
thanks for the tips i will try that. i am 9 months pregnant and applied for a job that made me feel worthless because i didnt have my high school diploma. But I know I can do any job, i am a 22 year old mother of (almost) 3. strippers are looked down on but i have always loved the dance styles. I am not ashamed and will do what I can to get my kids everything they deserve. Thank you i know how to keep my head up, and will keep your tips in mind.

    Hi Mia,
I was looking to do some dancing, but I live in Abq, NM. We have very few choices and our clubs are pretty trashy, not classy. I am looking for a classy club outside of the state. I’ve heard of this being done; leaving the state for a week at a time to work. Is this possible? What would this entail? What kind of research do I need to do? For example, someone mentioned a license that you have to buy in CA, and that’s where I want to go. Is this true? Also, I read that in CA it’s illegal to have alcohol and topless/ full nudity. I hope that is true. Do you know anything about that? And finally, I am very embarrassed about my large areolas (the part around the nipple), do men dig that or am I justified in being concerned?

  251. dakota on October 19th, 2011 9:51 pm

Do you have to be able.to pole dance to strip or can you just give normal or lap dances. My body and face look fine and I can dance on the ground! I just don’t have the upper body strength for the pole. Is this an issue? Am I the only one having this problem?

  252. aiko on October 20th, 2011 6:23 am

this was awesome. im really interested in doing this, any excercises i can do to help out to get ready for a pole?

  253. Dharma on October 27th, 2011 4:50 am

So my problem is…I do not by any means think that i am over weight but for the modern man i am…what can i do? can i still get a job???

  254. Melia* on November 6th, 2011 8:06 am

    Hi Mia,
I guess Ill start by describing my physical appearance first: Im 20 and Im a mix of American Indian and 6 other ethnic backgrounds, but I am of a darker skin. I have a very pretty face and a well-proportioned body type- 40C-34-45. My only flaws are the fact that I’m 5′ 4″ 190 lbs (altho I’ve been told I look about 145…150)and I also have this scar on my chest that extends from just below my neckline to about 4 or 5 inches above my belly button. I was born with congential heart disease and have undergone several surgeries in the past. I’m pretty toned for someone of my weight and I get compliments all the time about the way I look. My friends, guy friends, fuck buddies, ex bfs, etc have referred to me as beautiful/ hot/ stripper type/blahblahblah. Pole dancing has always seemed fascinating and exotic to me and i always wanted to do it. Im a 3rd year college student and Im in really bad debt and i also considered stripping to save up money. so a month ago, i built up enuff self-confidence and called to the nearest club in my area. When I told the owner on the phone how much I weighed and if it would be a problem, he seemed really disgusted until I explained how I looked. My first night was FUN, but awful mostly because I walked away with only $20. It was a SLOW night in a small Iowa city. some of the other girls kept spanking and grabbing my ass (I have a BIG ass) telling me I had the goods, but I just needed to learn how to talk to the customers and flirt more. 5 days later, I came back and some of the other girls gave me attitude and told me Id be hung up outta that place quick because I ask too many questions and it made me look like a weirdo. I didnt do too well my second night and one of the other girls really shot me down by saying that just because I come from middle of nowhere South Dakota, it was no excuse for me to not have any common sense. A week later after I finally got my dancers license, I went back and the owner told me to leave and that i wasnt welcomed back. I asked why and he just kept saying it didnt matter but that he had “heard some things”. I kept asking him why and finally he said, “For one, you’re too big. you need to lose some weight…. and I just heard some things. You can’t come back here.” I wasnt too upset about it. That club was too seedy for even a strip club. I want to try a different, more classier club. I know I have the earning potential cuz I can still make my guy friends go hard, but I’m totally clueless and not used to flirting with strangers. I’m worried I’ll make the same mistake again or the next club won’t wanna hire me because of my weight or my scar. Do you think that owner really fired me because of whatever he heard or do I need to hit the gym before I think about ever dancing again? Your advice would be very much appreciated… thanx! Sincerely, AKA Melia

    Hi Mia,
    Im 19 years old 5′1 107.
I just finished school to become a dental assistant but i feel that its not really what I love. I’ve always loved to dance so I’m really looking into pole dancing. One of my concerns is that I look really young, I’d say i look about 15 is this a problem at all? My mom is fine with my decision but I guess i just feel really nervous. I dont have the money to take classes, do you think i’ll be ok if I just go for it? I’ve been watching youtube videos just like you said to. I hope you can answer soon. xoxo

  256. Emma on November 8th, 2011 5:42 pm

    Hey Mia,
I was just wondering if you get tipped better for stripping/dancing, or actual moves on the pole. I have a pole and I am practicing on it and working on my core so I can be strong enough to do pole… I personally would tip more to see pole dancing. But I’m a girl. What would most people, mainly men, tip more for?

  257. Andrea on November 8th, 2011 5:51 pm

Where do you get a dancers license?

  258. me on November 16th, 2011 3:47 pm

Hello! I am 30 years old, but am frequently mistaken for being in my teens or early 20s.
I’m having a very hard time financially after being in an accident and then suffering an illness a little while later that took a long time to recover from. I have been struggling to pull myself out of the hole I’m in and need to get surgery from the accident that I can’t afford.
I have several questions for you:
High heels hurt my foot as a result of my injuries. I was wondering if any clubs let the dancers wear lower heels or different kinds of shoes.
    I am 5′4″ and 34D-23-36.5. I have a pretty face and a great figure.
I took lots of dance lessons growing up. I can sometimes be shy and feel a little spastic sometimes, but I can move my hips very well. I am a great saleswoman. I feel that my personality can work to my advantage because many people find me to be sweet, playful and innocent seeming. Is there a niche for someone like me in this industry?
Also, do all places require you to give lap dances?
And in the future, if a potential employer were to run a check on me, would they pretty much be able to assume what I did when they stumbled across the information that I was an entertainer? I have a degree and want to use the money from this as a stepping stone to advance my life, get surgery, go back to school and get back on track.
Any advice would help, thank you and thank you for your insight!!

How do you make money on stage? I would like to visit a strip club to find out more but I don’t have the money to tip :/
I want to be a dancer though, or at least learn and see if I like it.
The making money part I am referring to is like, when you are on stage, do people come up to the stage and toss money at you? Is there like a person to grab it for you when your routine is up or do you have to scramble for it or something? Maybe this sounds really stupid but I am clueless so forgive me.

  261. Cori on November 24th, 2011 3:47 am

Hi I’m Cori. i’m 19, white. I have done some modelling for an online magazine and I have always wanted to become a stripper. I am a college student, need money for school and for fun things. I have honestly wanted to this since I was little, but I am really nervous about auditioning. I have recently moved down to Miami for school, and this makes me super nervous to audition. Miami has a lot of beautiful women down here and I know I have a nice body but I’m not sure if it’s up to Miami standards. I am curious if you would have any recomendations of good clubs in Miami? I know of Madonna of course but I believe they like strippers with experience. Also, is it very common for their to be the “house mom”? Is there someone there to sort of look after you and help you learn the ropes? Honestly, being on my own after I’ve got the job sounds scarier than auditioning!! Look forward to hearing from you!! thanks!

Hi guys I need advise… Im 5′2 and have a 32′ inch waist but thicker in the but, legs & thigh area.. Its my 3rd day dancing, and Im to embaressed to take off my fish nets. The other dancers are encouraging me to do so to make more money. My problem is I have cellulite. Its not disgusting but Im really really insecure about it. Since I have a big but do you think theyll pay more attention to that than my flaw or do you think I should keep the fish nets on till I can lose some of it?

  263. browneydgirl on November 30th, 2011 7:27 pm

Hi my name is Alex. I’m a 20 year old college student struggling to make ends meet financially. I’ve always been told I’m a very good dancer and have a nice booty d: I’m seriously considering becoming a stripper (and have been since I was little, don’t tell my parents! lol) but am really nervous to finally try it out. I’m 5′8″ and have a nice body but have small boobs and kind of a thick waist that I’m trying to tone right now with pole dancing classes. I was hoping for some helpful advice (this blog is awesome!) and any pointers I may need going into an audition. Also, do u know of any clubs that I would not need to give full on grinding lap dances at cause I am not sure how comfortable I would be with that.. I am also really insecure about showing my “lower half”, any advice to help me with this? thanks so much!

  264. Olivia on December 1st, 2011 4:12 am

First of all I love your blog, it was my lifelong dream as a kid to be a stripper-believe it or not- because I love to dance, but my question is, can an A cup 5′5” ethnic succeed as a dancer or do I
    need a boob job?

Also how do you work around the monthly bloat in really skimpy clothes?
    Please reply.

    Hello Mia,
I am thinking of becoming a stripper but I have some work on toning my tummy but not much. I was thinking of becoming a waitress at a strip club on the weekends to start. I heard the ladies can be a bit mean to the waitresses to? Is that true? And is that a good way to start before I do decide on becoming a stripper?

  269. Anonymous on December 11th, 2011 8:02 pm

Im in college and have a family. I am very interested in being a dancer(showgirl). Ive never danced on a pole though, but ive been a dancer my whole life. Will a manager accept that you dont know how to dance on a pole yet, and is that something you can learn within time or is it a requirment when you go in for audition?

  270. Dame on December 12th, 2011 1:16 pm

Hi! I absolutely love your site!
I’m 5′9″ and am more muscular than other girls. I don’t have a six pack by any means but I’m in good shaped and have toned muscles. I’m worried about my midsection – does it have to be completely flat and hard? Also, I have a vertical scar from a major surgery I had when I was 14. It’s about 7 inches long and it creates a slight indentation. The scar is lighter colored. Will this hinder my chances at getting hired?

  271. Demi on December 15th, 2011 5:13 am

Heyy! You have really good advice that ive seen so i wondering if you could answer some questions?.. I filled out an application online for deja vu and the manager called me and told me to come to amateur night on wednesday night and if i get 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place i get offered the job, i really need and want this job to pay off bills and move out but i have no idea what to expect, what to wear or anything like that, and do you have to be super skinny and have big breasts to be a stripper? Im not fat but im not super skinny.. i am extremely nervous..any advice?

  272. Vanilla on December 18th, 2011 4:40 am

I had an interview with a club and they said I could start anytime I want. I have a great body (IMO) and I’ve always been a dancer (ballet, jazz, modern, etc). I have no anxiety about the stage or the pole, I’m sure I can jump in and do fine. The thing I’m worried about is lap dances (and that seems to be where the read money is). What exactly do you do during them?

  275. Nahlia on December 27th, 2011 3:22 pm

    to ivy

i have been dancing for about three days and what I learned is this
APPROACH the customer and ask..”So what brings you to (club name)” be very friendly and confident. Bring up the fact that you are new to the club. I am a very shy girl and i thought i would have a problem talking to customers but it is very easy. think about it a beautiful girl half naked is talking to him..he will be friendly to you trust me.

  280. courtney on January 13th, 2012 3:54 pm

Hey I just wanted to ask a few questions. I’m a college student and right now this is my last semester in school. Hopefully I graduate. I’m a culinary major but, also I wanted a second because I’m kind of in debt. I do dance a lot but I’m kind of uncomfortable with my body I see all these skinny thin girls working in strip clubs it makes me feel bad about mine. So do strippers come in all shapes and sizes?? I’m 5 ‘4 and probably weigh about 160 I do work out alot so my body is kind of tone the only thing I’m trying to get is my stomach area. And i do have big thighs and boobs mayb a 38D so I think I’m on the thick side. My boyfriend always tell me babe your just thick not fat.Lol i don’t know if he is just trying to make me feel better. A lot of guys tell me I’m neat with it maybe because I work out alot. I just want to try stripping to see if it will help me pay my debts off I’m so stressed.

  281. Brianna on January 15th, 2012 7:26 am

Girls of many different body types and they get work like any other. I am big on equal opportunity. If you can work it, then you can work. I have my limits just like anyone. I think your body type is still sexy and would have you if you have a pretty face and can dance. I work hard every day. Most I know dancers clear on a weekend about 2,000 on average. Don’t ever let a guy tell you that you can’t do it. If u want to try it out join/find a club nearby. thank you.

  282. Tailer on January 15th, 2012 9:42 pm

Im 19 and going to school. Iv been a dancer most of my life and I think it would really benifit me to work in a strip club, Im super friendly and outgoing, but Im small.. I have a great body but im just tiny, which I dont think is a problem, but I have really small boobs. Do you think its possible still? Would they even take their time to see everything eles I could offer? I have a passion for dancing and I could really use the money.

  283. Keezy on January 23rd, 2012 7:35 am

I am a 19 year old who just wants to dance for fun. I was told there’s a weight limit in dancers and I’d like to know how much the average dancer weighs. I am very thick at the bottom, but smaller at the top with a pudge. is it possible to get hired? I’m in the process of toning up now. Just wanted to know since everyone tells me to go for it because of my shape. I plan on starting sometime next year after I graduate nursing as a weekend job. Any advice before then?

But I have a question about teeth. I have lightly yellow tinted teeth, and they are not very straight, as I could never afford braces when I was younger. It’s not very noticeable except in bright lights, but I’m worried it may affect my chances of getting hired.

I have had a breast reduction and lift and have obvious scars under each breast. Although other scars, like on arms and legs, don’t seem to be a problem, would obvious scars in the breast area be a problem with dancing? I do not think that makeup will cover the scars too well.

  290. Aly on February 26th, 2012 7:50 pm

first of all, i really love this blog! you provide a lot of helpful information. now, i am a college student with no job and i am having trouble with money so i was thinking of dancing to get started and have a little money to pay off what i need to pay off and have some money for myself and to save. i have not been to the strip club here yet so i am unsure of what the average dancer there looks like but i read somewhere that i won’t get hired if i have big legs.. which i do. it’s not really in a fat way, i have just always had thicker thighs. but i have have bigger boobs and although i have wide hips, my midsection is not too large but i could work on it, and i am actually. do you think that my thighs will get in the way of me getting hired?

Hey, I’m amber. I’m starting college in a new area later this summer and one thing I’m extremely worried about is making money. To add to that, I also claim residency. Meaning, I’m an immigrant. I don’t have a proper I.D… but I am 18. I’ve been rejected at several places because of this and it’s understandable. Are there any other girls in the same position as me? I’m going to be on my own in making money, I have to pay my rent. I do like to dance and I have a nice body. I’m 18 and I’m scared about not being able to make enough money to pay for my room or books! Please, any help would be nice :)

Hello Mia, my name is Demi and I’m sure you’ve answered a multitude of questions like mine but I find it would be more intimate if I asked you myself. I grew up in a wonderful home here in Denver but I’ve always changed my mind on career choices . I’ve been researching the art of stripping ‘ exotic dancing’ and I’ve found myself to be attracted to it in a sort of freeing way. I am an 18 year old 5′2 34 b olive skinned sicilian with the obvious tummy ass and leg chub. Im petite but not fat. I have a background of 12
years of gymnastics and I was wondering if I even havea.chance against these beautiful women stripping now I’m not gorgeous but for some false reason all my guy friend say so. I’d just like to know if I am in over my head because of the image I might lose to the idea by my parents.and boyfriend. Thanks

Hi mia, I’m 18, 5′1 not even 90lbs but my body has great tone. I’m small in the chest ( like a B in juniors) but I have somewhat of a bubble butt. My hair is super short but long enought to were I put clip in extentions. I have tattoos and piercings and no cluue how to dance but I’m really interested in this type of work. One major thing.. I don’t look my age. What should I do?

  298. diamond on March 21st, 2012 12:44 am

Hi Mia I’m 21 and 5′6 I’m really pretty but I have some scars on my legs And butt from being a kid having bad skin and scratching with these scars lower my chance of becoming a dancer?

  299. Shy on April 11th, 2012 8:33 am

Hello, I really need to ask something,

I’m 19 years old, I exercise, eat healthy, I’m going to start taking yoga and pole dancing classes. Ive really considered becoming a stripper because I’m so broke at the moment, with all my student fees and my family can’t help with accommodation, it’s really hard. I think becoming a stripper would be a good idea, it sounds kind of exciting and hopefully will give me some back up money. But I have a problem, I’m really shy and VERY insecure about myself an my body. I think I’d get really embarrassed and I just don’t know how I’m going to get the courage to do it.

    Please I need advice.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

can anyone answer this question for me? I am thinking about getting back into pole dancing at the club but I am now in my middle 30’s ( 36). My body is in shape as if I am in my 2o’s and offten many yonger many approach me. I also have a pole at home so I have been dancing on it for a year now and have learn so many new tricks. My questions is, is 36 to old to go back into dancing, even if you do not look that old and are a great pole dancer? I have no strech marks and only have one kid so body has not change due to my works out on a regular. :)

Hey I have some questions I’d like to ask about this. I just turned 18 a few weeks ago, I’ve always wanted to become a stripper but I’m not sure if there is anywhere i can get hired in Las Vegas at 18 to be a male stripper. I’m not the most buff guy out there but I am in decent shape, I have a muscular body. If you could please get back to me via email and just give me some help on becoming a stripper that would be amazing.I really need money right now and I’m willing to work for it. I’ve been researching for a while now and i still can’t find anywhere that is hiring especially since I’m only 18. Please help! thank you very much

What is the best club to work at in San Francisco for a newbie? Never stripped before, do you need a permit or any other requirements to work in this area? Thanks so much!! SF love

  307. Charlie on June 28th, 2012 1:21 am

Hey so I just started stripping. Didn’t sign any forms, didn’t tell anyone my real name. Nothing on paper connects me to that job except when I’ll put it on my taxes as “self employment” next April. They just looked at my ID to make sure I was over 17. (18 is the legal age in California) Heather, you should definitely go for it. It’s good money, especially if you’re smart, confident, and good on the pole. It’s exciting and you should check out different clubs to find out if they’re a good fit. Definitely check the parking situation, the house fees, the hours agreement, and observe the way the girls treat each other. I just started blogging about my plight.

I’m 19 years old. I have a little budge from having my son. Ink going to diet & exercise more (any tips?)

I also have a boyfriend who gets jealous & does not support it one bit which kind of stresses me. I need to save up to get my diploma (sat test) then start college. I’ve tried looking for a different job for a few months now. I’m not having any luck due to no experience. I need to save up & get my own place. He don’t have a job. Is there any way I can convince him? It’ll help me get off my feet & start a better life for my son & I.

I’m worried I don’t have what it takes to be a stripper. Not physically, I know I can dance and flirt and do things like that to make money. I am just not sure if I can feel comfortable knowing I’m taking my clothes off for money. How do you still have self respect for yourself after doing something that you don’t typically do?
Also, I’m nervous about there being guys at a club that creep me out that want to dance. Or that I have to dance in front of and I’m not comfortable. What do I do about a situation where a guy is just creepy? How do I avoid him without looking like that is what I’m doing?
Furthermore, how do I maintain a normal life. Meaning, how can I strip and not let it overtake my personality. I don’t want to feel objectified or anything like that. I don’t want to end up not liking myself or having less respect for who I am. These are things that worry me. I want to do it for the money but I’m afraid that it might be too demeaning for me. I don’t want people to find out or look down on me for this. What is your advice?

Hi,i worked at a kind of run down club, and made good money.but,i want to go to a more classier club because i know theres better money and people.but i was wondering,i cant do any pole tricks..are clubs ok with u just dancing around the pole and doing tricks on the floor..or are pole tricks important? And when i audition is it best to do pole-involved dances, crawling on the floor dances or a mixture of both?

  321. JoJo on March 19th, 2013 9:30 pm

I want to strip to pay for college because my family has no way to pay for it….how old do you have to be to strip? do you call the club and ask or is it a state thing

  322. ontime on May 3rd, 2013 11:47 pm

    JoJo,

If you don’t know the age to strip then you are to young to be a stripper?

  323. Jocelyn on May 21st, 2013 4:56 am

    Hi Mia,

I love cabaret and I also train as a pole aerialist…What most people don’t understand is that it is an art form; beautifully executed with elegance and athleticism while captivating an audience. Absolutely nothing nasty about it. My problem is my boyfriend is the jealous type. Is there any formal approach to saying I’d rather be left to my own devices to pursue this? I still want to maintain our friendship however being tied down to family life isn’t worth it for me.
